Best graphics and performance. Right size for travel.

I currently have - and use - other HP laptops. I find the brand to be excellent – both in value and performance. This laptop was no exception. Was boxed nicely as usual. Has an alloy case with attractive dark finish and a nice “OMEN” etched in the lid. The included power supply is rated at 140 watts. Full specs are readily available, but here are some high points..... The screen is a 14 inch UWVA, 2880 x 1800 resolution, OLED screen, @ 120 Hz, with 500 nits brightness. When turned on, the display panel had incredible brightness, color and saturation. I found brightness was adequate at level 65, even in a day lit room. Some actual pics of the screen show the incredible display. Hardware is very respectable. Comes with 1Tb SSD storage, 16Gb LPDDR5X ram. An Intel Core Ultra 7 Series 2 processor with 16 cores, and a boost frequency of 5.1Ghz. And a discrete NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5060 with 8Gb dedicated GDDR7. There are two USB A connectors, one USB C connector, one Thunderbolt 4, one display HDMI 2.1, and a 3.5mm audio out. Neural Processing Unit - 13 trillions operations per second. Keyboard has a good feel when typing, and has three zones of RGB lighting that can be customized with different colors, brightness and effects. Can be “gaudy”, or set for less “distracting” effects. However, the key edge lighting is bright, and detracts from the actual letter / number lighting. Touch pad is generous for a 14” laptop, worked very smoothly, is very responsive, and clicks were accurate. I think 4 to 6 hours on battery life depending on settings, but do not expect great battery life if gaming, with the Nvidia video graphics running.... If gaming, keep power plugged in. Setup consisted of usual startup, updates, getting rid of “bloatware”, Microsoft ads and junk (as much as possible), and installing / running needed programs. Through this, the computer didn't disappoint – ran through all tasks quickly. Ran multiple tasks, multiple browser tabs without a hitch, and never slowed or throttled back. Now on to trying some games.....I enjoy many classic games, and although not quite as demanding as some of the newer games, can still provide a good indication as to a computers capabilities. Playing the “God of War”, the computer achieved a respectable rate of 48 to 76 FPS at fairly high settings. The game play was smooth and fluid. It did run warm, and fans were running at high speed with some audible noise. This laptop would be an excellent all around computer for any daily tasks, along with good gaming performance in a small form factor. An excellent choice...

I was able to unbox this gaming laptop about a week ago and have been very satisfied with what I have been experiencing so far. In the past I have had much larger (screen) gaming laptops but this one, being a tad smaller, has been just as good as the larger ones for a variety of reasons such as: Mobility, Graphics, Design and Cosmetics. Mobility is huge for me. I understand there is a balance between what can fit into a laptop and its ability to produce a quality experience. With that said, this laptop is more on the compact side. It weighs in at just over 3.5 lbs and has a 14 inch screen which equates to a width of 12.3 inches. The 14 inch screen does not come across as small either, which really surprised me. Being able to simply grab and go a compact laptop such as this has been awesome so far. Graphics on this laptop are very impressive too. The NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5060 paired with the OLED output allows me to get the big-rig gaming experience all while being able to use my very compact and easy to move laptop. Graphics is a game changer for me and this laptop does not disappoint. Pairing this specs with 16 GB of RAM and 1 TB of onboard SSD storage really does give me the best gaming experience possible. I can play all my fav on max settings. The design and overall cosmetics of this laptop are impressive too. As mentioned above, this is build to deliver a very mobile gaming experience. The ports are place in very strategic locations (one on back giving easy access to plug into monitor etc.) which allows me to use an external monitor if desired and still use the native keyboard. The backlit keyboard is a nice touch too. The keys are a combination of colors which really make the keyboard pop with color. Very attention grabbing visually too. The keyboard is sort of spongey too which does not give the clicky sounds, but does give me a very relaxed and comfortable feeling on my fingertips. All in all, this gaming laptop has been a very pleasant experience, ever since the unboxing. It is design to be used on the go and the graphics, specs and design are very appetizing to those looking to maximize their gaming experience.

Wow indeed! - So far loving this new HP Omen gaming laptop. Very responsive and super fast laptop. The specs are excellent with Intel Ultra 7 255H processor, 16GB of ram, NVIDIA GeForece RTX 5060 GPU with 8GB of memory, and 1 TB HDD. The 3K OLED display is awesome and graphics are super fluid, vibrant, and no lag whatsoever on any of the games I threw at it locally or in online via GeForce Now. The speakers have a nice full sound and even though they are under the laptop they sound full and you hear the stereo sound move left to right both in game play and with movies. The picture quality excellent for movies as well. The keyboard has a bunch of customizable lighting config with Omen Lighting Studio within the Omen Gaming Hub which also lets you easily see performance, visual overlays, customizable widgets and game profiles for different settings for different games, optimized boost modes, power and thermals, and much more. The setup was fairly straightforward. Took about an hour with updates, etc. Not too much bloatware – comes with 30 day McAfee and XBOX Premium game pass. Only about a quarter of the 1TB HDD was in use out of the gate. Bringing in files from old pc and MS Office was easy with logging into Microsoft and One Drive. Boots lighting quick and if you enable windows hello, it can auto log you into windows via the integrated camera. WiFi works great – in speed tests I regularly am pulling 425+ Mbps (our internet plan is 500 Mpbs, so getting most of that even a room or 2 away from the router.) Even though it’s packed full of the latest and greatest hardware – it is still very lightweight and very portable and ready for travel in this 14” screen form factor. Make no mistake – this is a high-end gaming laptop and a bit on the expensive side, but if you’re looking for a state of the art gaming laptop ready for any game - it does not disappoint!

After some time using this HP Omen Transcend 14” laptop I have mostly good things to mention about it. To start out, packaging was as expected for HP products, very well protected. Out of the box I noticed how lightweight it was. That was huge for me since my plan was to use this laptop for both gaming and normal everyday use while traveling for work. Startup was normal I feel like after all the setup clicks and updates I was ready to use it in an hour and 10 mins. So not hateful at all. It came with about 70% battery life so of course I had it on charge while it was performing all of the startup things. Now time for the customizing. I love the lighting on the keyboard. I have an Omen Desktop as well so I was already aware of how to change the profiles for the keyboard. I was able to use Omen Light Studio to make different patterns which is truly one the my favorite features. It comes preloaded with Windows 11 Home edition which eventually I plan to upgrade to Windows Pro. I signed right into my outlook account and had all of that set up to basically match my desktop options. On to the gaming, because that’s why one typically buys the Omen brand. It’s amazing in my opinion. Now don’t get me wrong, yes, I’m positive there are other “better” gaming laptops out there right now, but this Transcend 14” laptop is perfect for my gaming needs. The GeForce RTX 5060 allow this thing to run smooth with no hiccups for me so far. The 3K Oled screen is absolutely gorgeous. I have played Forza with ease and the graphics were crisp and clean while racing. Visually, Hogwarts Legacy was so nice and the graphics were very easy on the eyes. As a shooting game, Counter Strike 2 worked as expected with zero flaws or delays while playing with stunning graphics as well. I will say, plan to play with this on a desk or flat surface if gaming because it definitely gets warm. The fans work very well to keep it cool but it’s not one you’d want to keep in your lap too long in my opinion. Overall, while the price point was a bit steep in the beginning, I feel like Best Buy’s sale price is an attractive price point for what this little laptop offers. It has multiple ports including USB-A and USB-C. It offers 1 HDMI port and a Thunderbolt 4 display connector port as well as an Ethernet port. This is a great laptop. And for gaming and everyday use, it’s a total package for me! Well worth it.

Bought this laptop on Black Friday had it. Not even a year, it had something go wrong with it. Took it to geek squad, luckily it was under warranty so whatever it was it was fixed for free.. maybe a month or 2 later something else went wrong. Took it back the sent it off and told me it was unfixable. So they’d give me a replacement. The thing is they didn’t give me a replacement they kept trying to give me a gift card for what i paid for the computer, I kept Arguing that’s not fair, because i bought it on Black Friday, and in order to buy me the same computer I’d have to spend 800$ more. When this email says i will receive a “replacement computer” not a “gift card” long story shot i ended up getting the stupid gift card. And unfortunately for me my kid had to have this same exact computer which they upped the price on even more because of a Ram shortage. All around horrible experience. The computer is tho

Verdict: The HP OMEN - Transcend 14 is a very nice laptop, with a comfortable keyboard, 3K OLED screen, and great all-around specs for productivity and gaming (most titles). It appears to be very well built, with excellent cooling and lots of capable ports. It’s lightweight and small, with exceptional battery life… perfect to travel or commuting, with an RTX 5060! First impressions. The 14” Omen laptop is thin, light, and sleek, but largely unremarkable in its styling (beside the colorful keyboard). There is a weird line on the top of the back of the screen; I am really not sure what it’s for, and it’s odd from an esthetic perspective. I love the hot keys at the top of the keyboard, and there is a copilot button too. Specs. While there are higher configured computers out there, this package comes together very nicely to offer a balance between portability, performance, and efficiency. I initially was concerned that the Ultra 7 would not have enough power for me, but the combination of the Ultra 7 and the RTX 5060 gives me efficient performance and battery life for non-gaming productivity tasks, and then enough performance to handle most games on customized settings. The combination is even more interesting in that both the processor (with Intel AI Boost NPU, 13 TOPS) and the graphics card (with AI-enhanced DLSS 4 with Multi Frame Generation) are AI focused. In practice, the Ultra 7 will manage routine AI tasks on-computer, speeding up tasks, and reducing power requirements. For RAM, I would prefer 32GB, but 16GB (LPDDR5x) is fine for a strong performance package. 1TB is standard now for zippy startup and a smooth experience. Great port options with 2x USB-C, 2x USB (10Gbps), HDMI, and 35mm. Performance. This laptop shines for productivity tasks, crushing through endless tabs and multiple open programs, doing all this without the fans picking up. For gaming, I played Delta Force at 1920 x 1200 resolution, on custom settings (high and medium), DLSS on Quality, and averaged 100 FPS of smooth gameplay. For more demanding titles, you will have to customize settings further to manage VRAM and 16GB limit. NVIDIA DLSS shines on this laptop because it allows gameplay at lower setting but upscaling for a better user experience… Technology is amazing! While gaming, the fans will definitely be audible, but it’s not loud. While the laptop was warmer, I am actually quite impressed about the effective ventilation and heat management. Things I love: - Very nice specs for great balanced performance - The 3K OLED screen is gorgeous - That is a very cool keyboard; interesting divergence from the usual flowing RGB keyboard - Charging port can be either of the two USB-C ports, thank you! - Both USB-C also do Display Port (1 at DP 2.1 and 1 at 1.4a) - Nice port selection - Thin, light, sleek - Exceptional battery life (up to 14 hours and 45 min) - Very effective cooling Things I don’t love: - I think 16GB is bare minimum for a gaming laptop. 32GB would have been infinitely better, especially since the RAM is not upgradable! I struggle significantly with this choice because I have added (or upgraded) RAM in the last three gaming laptops I have owned, but will not be able to do that with this one. I do realize that there is a tradeoff due to the size of the laptop, and of course considering current prices of RAM. - The speakers sound very good actually, but they are not loud. It’s generally fine since I prefer to use a headset to game. - What’s going on with the line on the top of the back of the screen? It doesn’t work esthetically. Overall, this is a solid laptop, with compelling all-around specs. Value is probably right at fair, not great, and not bad… So look for this on sale for a more approachable price point. On the other hand, the build feels excellent, as reflected by the cooling performance, well thought-out and perfectly synchronized package of specs, and other neat features. What still blows my mind (and the reason I give this laptop 5 Stars) is that something this small packs an RTX 5060 and a 3K OLED, while managing heat so well.

Good for gaming and streaming oled display high performance

I downloaded like 4 different games, and they all work good. It just the sound of fan that might be little distracting but that is same for all the gaming laptops. I love it so far.

Great computer performance, looks beautiful, and has enough ports, except it doesn't have an SD card reader. And it's a little bit on the heavy side for portability. But unfortunately, we had to return it because the computer was for my daughter, and she wanted a touch-screen laptop.

I absolutely love the HP OMEN Transcend 14. Sure this model has a lower tier graphics card with a 5060, but for a VERY portable gaming laptop it punches above it's weight. Right off the bat the build quality of this laptop is noticeable. It feels dense and sturdy by not heavy. For a small workhorse that I will be traveling with this is exactly what I'm looking for. Two more pieces I want to touch on are just how beautiful this 14" OLED display is. It's variable refresh rate so it can save battery by going anywhere from 24 to 120hz refresh rate. It has an impressive HDR level and runs at 2880 x 1800 so any content you watch on this will look fantastic. It will also sound great too! While it's not the pinnacle of speaker audio quality, it can compete with some of the best in the category. As a content machine, you will not be disappointed. This is an OMEN laptop which means it's targeting the gamers. It performs quite well in that regard! See below for some of the results I got from gaming on this laptop with two very intensive games (Clair Obscure and Pacific Drive) alongside a game that can run on a toaster (Elden Ring). While these results don't compete with a higher end graphics card, it still puts up a great fight and if you aren't doing the latest biggest 3D games you will especially have a good time. Clair Obscure Expedition 33 -- Native Resolution, Medium Quality: 30-45fps Elden Ring -- Native Resolution, Max Quality, No ray-tracing: 45fps Pacific Drive -- Native Resolution, High Quality: 40-60fps I'm writing this review on the Transcend 14 and I'm happy to report that the keyboard and touchpad are fantastic. While some manufacturers have this idea that the bigger the touchpad the better, HP stuck to a normal and perfectly sized touchpad. While I'm not in LOVE with the feel of the touchpad, it's not bad or even middling. I just like my touchpads to be smoother feeling and this one has just enough friction that it doesn't earn a perfect score from me. More of a preference than anything. And the keyboard has excellent trave and feel. I feel no keyboard give and the way these keys are designed has really cut down on my spelling mistakes. I do wish the mute button didn't have a light that's always on when muted (might be a setting I can adjust but I haven't dug for it). Port selection is great for a 14" laptop (headphone jack, 2xUSB-Cs, 2 USB-As, and an HDMI) although I do wish they could have put a micro or regular SD card slot on the side. Also, I love that the fans, an HDMI port, and one of the USB-Cs is on the back too. Makes plugging in way more convenient. Overall this is a fantastic option for a portable gaming rig if you are on a budget. It's not the most powerful, but it's also not the most expensive. I don't see myself playing the new James Bond game on a plane, but it could handle it if needed! Editing videos and export times were a breeze with this machine and compiling code was fast. This is a great machine that you should definitely consider. I do think Windows laptop manufacturers need to rethink the bloatware situation. The unboxing and setup were pretty standard. They included some pretty decent packaging. The laptop and 140w usbc cable were all that was in the box. Upon setup there was the standard Win 11 setup options that as of late took over an hour. Then it took an HP account to get to the update screen for HP to apply their branded updates. After the standard Windows updates I was moving. The first thing I noticed was the Windows Hello camera that was included. They did really include a high-quality OLED display. It is very punchy and bright. Also, there is a decent number of ports included. 2 USBC and 2 USB A but the USB A’s are only on the right and together. One nice thought was the usbc on the back that keeps the power cable out of your way which is where the hdmi connection is so to connect to power and my monitor I can still use the laptop without cables on the sides. The large trackpad is really accurate, but it is not the premium glass feeling that others have. The keyboard is comfortable but there are better. I mention that because this device seems like it will serve dual duty for doing work and gaming without looking like a dedicated gaming laptop. The weight is decent for the size, and the overall package is very portable. I do wish the screen had more anti-glare, but I understand they are going for the gaming aspect and not an office environment. The included 16GB of RAM that is soldered on is fast and I have not felt like the system is slow. Also, the 1TB SSD is a decent size for files and fames. That is upgradeable. The feel is a premium metal which is nicer than the typical plastic feeling. I do see some finger prints but not too much more than other devices in its class. The included Omen software is typical of a gaming laptop in that you can tune everything from performance, fans, RGB, refresh rate,etc all in one interface which is appreciated. The layout is easy to configure unlike others. I did have to uninstall quite a bit of bloatware like McAfee, Drop Box, and several HP programs. In the end you really only need the Omen software and the HP support assistant for HP related updates. The laptop includes the ARC 140T gpu along with the 5060 which is decent for the size and weight. I would have preferred them to include the 5070 variant for the additional cores but that is not the configuration this has. When gaming the laptop does get warm but the fps keeps a steady 120fps which is the refresh rate of the display on mostly high settings which is really good for Fortnite which is my game of choice. I like the fact that the laptop is a lot more functional beyond gaming as the RGB can be turned off and the battery life for me has been about 6 solid hours of mixed productivity. I found gaming to be good but only about 1.5hrs and that is to be expected. Really solid laptop.

Just perfect for my sons collage class . Super efficient and the quality is just perfect.

The HP OMEN - Transcend 14" 120Hz 3K OLED Gaming Laptop - Intel Core Ultra 7 (2025) - 16GB Memory - NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5060 - 1TB SSD - Shadow Black is a compact and lightweight laptop that can handle modern games and sophisticated apps extremely well. It basically functions as a portable gaming machine that can also handle creative work. Multiuse of the HP OMEN Transcend 14" is possible, because of its premium built with all of its hybrid functionalities to operate as an ultrabook for professionals and students. Portability is the key with this laptop. The chassis is thin and has the memory soldered to it, which means I can not upgrade or replace it. Daily use was smooth with an excellent OLED display, solid performance, and easy creator specifications. I have the Omen Gaming Hub software to help me set my configurations to my best levels for gaming success. The OLED screen produces high resolution and is very reflective. Games, videos and movies look fantastic. They all show excellent color accuracy having deep colors and amazing contrast. Battery Life is very respectable for a gaming-capable laptop doing mixed work. Fan noise get’s noticeable under load when heavy gaming, but for everyday browsing or office tasks the fans are quiet. Under a sustained load, performance stayed mostly stable. When I place a load on the laptop, the fans do increase in speed and noise. Also, I notice a change in performance capability with thermal throttling. I would not use the HP OMEN - Transcend 14" 120Hz 3K OLED Gaming Laptop - Intel Core Ultra 7 (2025) - 16GB Memory - NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5060 - 1TB SSD - Shadow Black just for total gaming or heavy performance needs. I see it as a great computer for my general everyday use, with the benefit of playing some middle range games.

I previously was using the HP Omen 14" but from early 2024. It seems it got every upgrade that it needed. Not that it needed it, we got spec upgrades. We are now getting 50-series GPUs in these machines and the second generation of Core Ultra processors. There is also an upgrade to the TGP (total graphics power). The 2024 model was limited to 50-65W. It was the lowest in the gaming laptop industry. The new model is able to draw up to 75W to power the GPU. I did attempt at doing a vBIOS flash on it, which increased the TDP and that did work. I noticed slight improvements but really out of the box it can handle pretty much anything you throw at it. For games at ultra or high settings, or a demanding application it will struggle however. My previous laptop has issues with the hinge. It wobbled a lot and it would flex. Also the screen is slightly separated from the back panel. If you really wanted to, you can easily pry it open. I also got a dent on the corner of the laptop unfortunately. This new laptop seems to be of a better construction. The hinge is definitely improved. However, time will tell if the rest of the machine will hold up. When I wrote my review originally everything was fine but overtime the imperfections started to show. I've always liked smaller, thinner gaming laptops. I absolutely hate big 16" or 17" laptops. I've taken my Omen on dozens of my work trips across the country. It fits perfectly in my backpack. It is easy to carry in my hand since it's light. It's handled the office suite, Helldivers 2, Netflix streaming, multiple tabs, OBS, Photoshop and even Premiere Pro very well. The one thing I do not like is the price. I don't think the upgrades are worth paying over $2,000 for. If you are able to get your hands on the 2024 model used you would probably still be fine. I believe the price increased by over $800 which is insane. Typically you may see the same price or $100-$200 increase between the two model years. I understand with the current ram prices they had to but if you can save your cash. I don't see the need to upgrade if you already got a great gaming laptop. And if you are looking for one, maybe wait it out a bit or look in the used market. It's an improved machine for sure but unfortunately the price is going to hold it back.

This HP OMEN laptop is a powerhouse that’s easy to take with you. It’s got a gorgeous 14-inch 3K OLED (HDR) screen that refreshes at 120Hz, making everything look super sharp and smooth. It’s got a sleek black look, but inside, it’s a beast! An Ultra 7 Intel processor and NVIDIA 3060 graphics card team up to crush creative tasks and games without making a racket, all with tons of 32 G memory and 1 TB of storage. You get both looks and power with this one. It’s s tough, and has all the modern connections you need, plus USB-C charging (left or back side.) It’s made for those who are always on the move and want the best of both worlds. You’ll find the Tempest cooling program pre-installed, running Intel’s hyperbaric cooling. This thing gets pretty hot after a bit but expect it to heat up since it’s a powerful laptop. It doesn’t have a ton of USB ports, but you can grab a quick USB-C hub that works great with mine. There is no memory card slot though. The 14-inch screen is a good size for carrying it around. Being almost 4 pounds, it’s not too heavy to manage. I checked how long the battery lasted by doing stuff like browsing online, using Office, and watching Netflix. It was about seven hours long. The game that needs the GPU was a bit much to much to run on battery. I didn’t think it would last much longer than four or five hours. The laptop was getting really warm. And for a college student, which is perfect since it’s not huge, it’d last the whole day. I tested out a USB charging with a portable USB power. It wasn’t strong enough to charge it; it needed at least 140 watts. Just use the power adapter they gave you. Expect to spend all day getting a new Windows computer running and patched. Give it some time before you try to use it. This laptop’s a steal if you’re into its awesome OLED screen, how easy it is to carry, and how well it runs. It’s built well, runs great, and is perfect for gaming. It’s not a 5090 RTX, but you’d expect to fork over twice as much. You’ll love this 14-inch laptop’s beautiful screen; it’s great for school, editing, and gaming. Don’t put it on the highest setting, though. It’s a solid buy if you can afford it, and it’ll definitely last you a long time. Yeah, you can find computers with better graphics cards that are technically superior, but they’re bulky, loud, and the battery drains super fast. But if you need a powerful laptop, this will be a nice buy. People will be jealous when they look at the screen!
