Got this Open Box Excellent for basically half price. Received the laptop in one day and in perfect condition. Couldn't even tell it had been powered on. Ran benchmarks right out of the box, and this is a powerful machine with a beautiful screen! If the somewhat underpowered GPU bothers you, then you should probably skip this laptop. Alternatively, you could purchase it, try it out in some games, and see how you like it within the return period. I was amazed that this HP scored in the 92nd percentile of all PassMark systems tested, and higher than 92% of all Novabench systems tested (see screenshots). That includes desktop PCs and multi-CPU servers that have been tested by those benchmarking programs. The 32GB of RAM is soldered in, so no upgrade is possible there, unless you know what you're doing. There is a possibility of vbios swapping in the near future that could increase the maximum GPU wattage from 75 to possibly 90-100 watts. Online videos discuss vbios swapping. A 16-core Intel chip, 32GB of RAM, RTX 5070, an all-metal case inside and out, a 3K OLED screen — there's a lot to like about this laptop, especially if you can find it for a significant discount on Black Friday or through Open Box.

The OLED display is my favorite feature, offering vibrant colors and sharp image quality. Performance is excellent for both school work and gaming, though it can be a little pricey for some budgets.

This laptop has been a game changer for mobile gaming. I have played a few modern titles including: lies of P, Elden ring, solo leveling, and Clair obscur. Also, I am a PhD candidate in biochemistry and I have used it extensively for writing. The keyboard is superior to previous Macbooks I have owned. Wow. I love this laptop so much. My only critique is that battery life is a bit short even when doing daily, normal non-gaming tasks.

Overall, a big fan of this computer so far. My only concern, which I knew before I bought it, was the lack of an Ethernet Port, but I use a docking station, so this isn't a bid deal for me. It is very quiet and powerful, allows me to play most games on high settings. I bought this when it was on sale during Memorial Day; highly recommended.

I bought it open box for just over $1300, which I find a great value. It doesn't heat up under load and the battery lasts almost all day in the integrated graphic card mode. It feels premium and sturdy while light as well. I love the usbc charging. The display is gorgeous. What I would change is the two usba slots on the right side - I'd happily trade them for another usbc.

Excellent performance considering the form factor in unleashed or performance mode. Eco mode for media consumption, browsing etc. can get around 9 hours of usage. Using dlss, ray tracing and frame gen delivers surprising results from this 5070 that is on the lower wattage side (75 watts max for gpu) but shows really good efficiency. The vapor chamber cooling is top notch. The Oled display is gorgeous and does have vrr and one of the key reasons for considering this model. The open item price was an amazing deal on this one.

Love the computer! Very efficient for what I do, and screen quality is quite nice! I use it mainly for business, but the capabilities of the machine make the process seamless for designing 3D renderings of kitchens!

I bought this laptop for my son for gaming and streaming. It was easy to set up and it has far surpassed our expectations. Graphics are amazing and it is light and easy to carry.

Purchased this laptop for school, gaming, and personal use and it works wonderfully!

I really wanted to keep it. but the battery lasted only 5-6 hours when sitting just idle. I bought it for scanning in dentistry. This laptop went super hot and turned off black screen during a scanning. Item returned. Do NOT recommend.

Very nice; however, BEWARE HP's warranty and support! It is nearly impossible to get a person and emails are auto generated. Will be amazed if this truth gets published. Had to send in for BIOS reset due to bad WIN11 update 3 mos after buying and HP smashed corner of metal case. Took over 2 mos to get it fixed and several attempts to bill me until showing proof again! End results: Downgraded case, keyboard w/o lighting, and standard screen (which wasn't broke when returned again). Spent $2k for what is now a very used gaming laptop - without lit keyboard very hard to read key (e.g., Q &O). Whole reason for buy laptop was lighted keyboard and nicer LCD due be vision as a senior citizen. Best part is I cannot check what else was not fixed/downgraded because opening the case voids the warranty. The whole reason Best Buy insisted it needed to be sent to HP.

Portable and powerful. Fans stays off and computer stays cool during regular productivity use such as internet browsing, microsoft excel/word usage. The battery life ranges lasts around 6-7 hrs if doing productivity tasks Laptop does get warm if you use demanding software such as Matlab, Altium designer, or complex circuit simulations and can be felt mostly underneath the screen chassis and the middle of the laptop. Palm rests are often cooler than the rest of the laptop. Touchpad and keyboard feel clicky and satisfying. OLED screen is bright and has amazing colors. However, I felt like some text was too small so i changed the scale from 200% to 215%. I definitely recommend this laptop just be ware that this is a powerful machine and not a thin and light laptop. If you push it it will get warm but never slow.

Currently moving, my desktop setup is currently packed up. Been using this for a couple of months while im back and forth before the move. Love how light and portable this machine is. Runs games good, obv desktop power is unmatched compared to laptops. But it stays cool, quiet, crushes everything i throw at it. OLED screen is a plus. Been loving this laptop, opened it up had no issues, swaped the 1TB with a 4TB. Been absolutely killer. My first laptop. I dont think ill get rid of it when we moved in fully either, was thinking about docking it to a projector in the game room since its so small to tuck away! Almost bought the G14 but i got this for under 1700 no tax either, awesome device!

So far so good. I bought this laptop as a software dev who loves gaming. My intention was to use it as a dual laptop-desktop by using a monitor and as far as I can tell it runs all my faves great: League, Deadlock, REKA, Portal, and more. I usually keep it plugged in while gaming, but you can unplug it for some games or turn down settings. The fan is rather loud when playing games (silent during non gaming) but it stays pretty cold so I guess the fan is doing its job. It is a heavy but compact computer that has the polished feel of a thinkpad or mac opposed to the feel of often klunky gaming laptops. The keyboard is super cute with these rounded glowing keys you can customize, and feels fairly premium to type on. The lid gets fingerprints but thats to be expected, just as how it expectedly sports a slightly higher weight (but very thin). Pretty good all in one bundle, esp worth it if you can snag it while on sale. If you want a laptop that you can treat like a desktop or pick up carry to the couch, I'd say this is for you. Will it out preform an "all-the-best-components" home built desktop? Probably not, but if you are like me and are a "hardcore" gamer while also not the kind of person who can instantly smell the difference between 60 FPS and 61 FPS and you just want a high performance computer that can play all your favorites on high settings and fit in your backpack, this is perfect. Very happy with the outcome of my 6 month search for a gaming laptop.

I have never been a huge fan of anything HP especially many Years Ago. While this Laptop isnt perfect, it almost is especially coming from previous HP Laptops. But this one not only performs great but stays cool even under heavy loads. While tasks like Ableton Live with many CPU Heavy VSTs, the Laptops stays cool, but struggles a tiny bit. But with Gaming, the Laptop handles temps great and does not overheat. The Battery life is also not the worst, but you will probably get around at most 2 hours without needing to charge. The Speed of the Laptop is pretty efficient and great. It is able to hold its own under heavy tasks. And will not slow down when under idle or normal use. The Display is Great, but not the Best for certain tasks. For Videos and Gaming the display seems to be great without any issues. But for certain tasks like VST UI, it can show up a bit lower quality or pixelated. Overall I recommend purchasing the Intel Ultra 9 and Nvidia RTX 5070 For the Best Performance. And that Laptop GPU Performs better than a Desktop 3060.

I really like this laptop. The 3K OLED screen looks fantastic, and the RTX 5070 gives it plenty of power for gaming and everyday use. What I like most is how much performance HP managed to fit into such a compact 14-inch laptop. It's easy to carry around without giving up the gaming performance I wanted. Very happy with it overall.
