For a productivity laptop, the HP Omnibook 5 14 is a solid option. The Core Ultra 5 320 processor is plenty fast for everyday tasks, the OLED screen is bright, clear, and very colorful, the speakers are solid performers for a laptop in this price range, and the keyboard feels good. However, you're held back because the RAM is not upgradeable for this model and there is some bloatwear you'll want to immediately remove the first time you fire this laptop. Overall, however, it's not a bad laptop for the price. Unboxing and setup: You'll find the laptop, power adapter and USB-C cable, and instruction and warranty literature. Everything is in cardboard and paper, meaning the packaging is easily recyclable. The laptop itself has solid build quality thanks to the body being aluminum. The screen is bright and clear, with a Gorilla Glass digitizer, and not overly reflective. The keyboard is backlit in white and easy to read in bright or dark rooms. Setup is typical for a Windows laptop. Connect to the Wi-Fi, enter your Microsoft Account info, and wait for a few updates to run, and you're going. The 256GB SSD is spacious enough to hold the apps that you need, and the WiFi 6e connectivity is more than fast enough for most users. Usage: For everyday tasks like web browsing, office work, and the occasional photo editing task, the Omnibook 5 14's Core Ultra 5 process flies through those tasks. The keyboard is comfortable, and the trackpad is definitely nice for a laptop in this price class. Port selection is a little sparse - two USB-C ports, a HDMI 2.1 port, and a headphone port - so for those of who looking for a WFH or school device, you'll definitely want a docking station. For those looking for a laptop that can also game, this is not it. While the Core Ultra 5 is a solid processor for productivity, web surfing, and occasional media editing, the integrated Arc Graphics lack in performance for all but casual titles. This also isn't a good fit for 3D modeling, CAD, or anything else that is extremely GPU-dependent. For streaming, surfing, and getting through a workday where productivity is key, the battery life is amazing. I managed to get about 35 hours in my testing before I got a battery critical warning in Windows, which included web surfing, streaming 1080p video from YouTube, and playing music from Apple Music in high-res lossless. So why the lower score on this laptop? HP designed it to not have upgradeable RAM. In the case of Snapdragon or Apple laptops, where the RAM is part of the processor package, I can understand the memory not being upgradeable. In the case of this laptop, however, the memory is not on the processor package, so there really isn't a reason the laptop to not have upgradeable RAM. 8GB is pushing the lower limit of usable in Windows 11, especially with some of the bloatware installed. Otherwise, if you're needing a laptop for working from home, the HP Omnibook 5 14 does do a lot of what you'll want a productivity laptop to do. Just don't expect it to be the everything PC.

I was excited to test the 2026 version of the HP Omnibook 5 14 inch version. This particular version comes with a 2K beautiful OLED touchscreen panel. At first glance, this laptop is very sleek and compact enough to carry around as a daily driver. HP markets this laptop as an everyday AI PC for students, but I also see that this laptop can be for someone who doesn’t need a high-end laptop for gaming or editing videos. This laptop is a good media consuming tool. Also, it will be a great fit for someone who is heavily invested into the Windows ecosystem. I have several high-end laptops, desktops and Chromebooks so I’m well-versed into mobile technology. This HP Onmibook is one of my favorites to carry around. Not due to it’s processing power, or it’s gaming capabilities. It’s because of the simplicity and portability. Battery life is amazing on this device and carrying around a compact charger is more suited towards having minimal accessories needed for things to just work. The weight of this laptop is insane as well. It comes in around a little under 3 pounds. 10 years ago we would have probably thought that it wouldn’t be possible. After unboxing the laptop and downloading all the Windows updates, I updated the Windows version from Home to Pro. I was also able to download Tailscale and setup Remote Desktop. This was important since the Onmibook 5 allows me to be productive on the go, and have everything I need from my network of devices as well. The Intel Core 5 processor is very efficient and does not require a lot of power. The laptop comes with 8gb of Ram and 256gb of internal storage. The laptop build feels premium to type on. The keys feels firm and the touchpad is responsive. The touchpad is a large and has many shortcuts to master. This will allow you to save some time while performing different tasks. The OLED screen is beautiful and the colors are so vivid. This laptop comes with a HD camera that is Windows Hello capable. It automatically logs me in most times by recognizing my face, but sometimes it will force me to use my login pin when it doesn’t recognize me in darker rooms. Speakers are good enough to hear them clearly. So who is the Omnibook 5 14 inch Oled version for? If you like to browse the web, or stream both games and video services, this laptop will be a perfect choice. The battery life is impressive and premium design will be well-suited for most people. If you are looking to perform some heavy AI workloads while editing photos and videos, this laptop won’t be the best choice due to the combined 8gb of Ram and 256gb of storage with only a 15 TOPS NPU. This laptop is best suited for individuals who perform mostly cloud based tasks, that will be using the device for their everyday needs. This laptop is a good Chromebook and Googlebook competitor that’s reasonably priced for a touchscreen laptop with a 2K Oled screen.

I like the OmiBook. It's portable and lightweight. I travel a lot and usually lug around a heavy gaming laptop. While I like gaming, sometimes I need a small compact version to help me with day to day tasks for volunteer work I do and for job trips. The color is great, love that the touch screen. Setting the laptop up was quick and seamless. I create a lot of social media posts for the volunteering work I do, and able to post updates and market activities easily. The speed is quite fast. So far doesn't heat up. Battery life is good. Streaming videos and the quality is great. The screen is 2K OLED display. The volume on the laptop is great. Also, like that it fits easily in my purse. Although I am going to invest in a compact cover to protect it from breaking. The Omnibook also features AI capability, if that is something you are looking for. It has USB/type C and no adpater is required. Has built in HDMI. You are able to do gaming on this computer as well. Overall was happy to test this product. Thank you BestBuy. Pros: Easy Setup Portable Light Weight Cons: None at the moment. Will update if needed.

This is my review for my new HP OmniBook 5 14-inch laptop. This beautiful laptop is an excellent choice for everyday use, combining a sleek design with practical features and reliable performance. The 14-inch 2K OLED touchscreen is one of its highlights, delivering sharp images, vibrant colors, and it is excellent for watching movies, browsing the internet, and school or work stuff. Its slim, sleek and lightweight design makes it easy to carry. I also LOVE the color - The touchscreen adds convenience, making navigation feel easy- Windows 11 provides a familiar and user-friendly experience, love the the built-in webcam and microphone they are super useful. The audio/Sound is very good especially for streaming or watching movies . This laptop is also compact enough to have in a small desk space . Overall, the HP OmniBook 5 is a stylish, beautifully made laptop good and fast performance It is a solid option for the price I would recommend to a friend! Really wish it came in a pink color!

There's a lot to like with the HP Omnibook 5 14" (mh0013dx). The design and build are excellent - thin, sleek, light-yet-solid, great keyboard, decent port options, nice no-slide grip on bottom, and a wonderful OLED screen. All of these make for a great laptop. However. It's presented as a versatile all-around AI laptop for students. This leads you to expect lower specs and an entry-level price. As for lower specs, it definitely hits that. But the particular mix of specs offered by the HP Omnibook 5 14-mh0013dx just don't make sense to me - only a 256GB SSD and a beautiful OLED touchscreen display that cannot be folded back and used in tablet mode. The OLED screen is great for watching videos, but I've yet to see a practical use for a touchscreen display unless I can comfortably work with it - which means in tablet mode. So, although having a great, touchscreen display is nice, I have to assume it's also a major factor in this unit's price. A 256GB SSD will hold plenty of word processing files, but can quickly run out of room when adding presentations, audio, and video files. A good, active, cloud storage solution can help remedy this, but will require a monthly subscription. Although this is not specific to HP, presenting a new laptop as an AI model would go further if they also included at least a few months of free subscription to a main-line AI service, or an upgraded version of Microsoft's Copilot. The processor is upgraded for AI, but without a subscription, you quickly run out of what you can do. I tried to use Copilot to help me come up with a good prompt for an image - only to find that I needed to acquire another program to generate the image - and - then was told I'd used up my Copilot limit for that day. This was the only task I gave it. Of course, if I upgraded to a subscription plan, it would get better. Side note: I found the trackpad sensitivity challenging for basic clicks, requiring me to often click repeatedly and harder. This improved only slightly after I went into settings and increased the sensitivity setting. There's so much I really like about the HP Omnibook 5-mh0013dx (see first paragraph). But, with the specific mix of specs and features offered by this model, I think they've missed the mark. Reluctantly, I just can't recommend the HP Omnibook 5 14-0013dx as a good choice for buyers.

The HP OmniBook 5 laptop is a really great productivity laptop. It is also super thin and sleek but also powerful. It has what feels like a very sturdy build quality. The Starlit Blue is also a really beautiful color. Battery life is also a huge feature - it's rated for over 42 hours of video playback and so far has lived up to that. It also comes with a very well made charge that charges it fast, but is also sleek, and stay cool while charging. It also has an OLED screen that still looks bright but also has an anti-glare for use under bright lights or outside. The screen is also Gorilla Glass, which helps protect it from accidental cracks or breaking. The hinges also will lay completely flat making it easier to collaborate with others or setup a desk perfectly based on personal preferences. With WiFi 6E, a 256GB SSD, and 8GB of RAM, it's the perfect setup for on-the-go or productivity use. With a backlit keyboard for use at night or in the dark, AI Noise cancellation built into the microphone, premium speakers, and 2 USB-C ports, and HDMI, and 3.5 mm audio jack, it has everything you need for a lightweight, on-the-go, productivity PC. I highly recommend it!
