Excellent performance and portability. I am very satisfied with this HP laptop. The screen offers incredible image quality, and the colors look very vivid. The processor is extremely fast, allowing me to work on multiple tasks and programs simultaneously without any slowdown. Plus, the battery lasts long enough for a full workday, and the design is sleek and lightweight, making it easy to take anywhere. I highly recommend it.

Summary of the good —-------------------------- Very portable (thin and ultra light), powerful, fast with a gorgeous OLED display! NextGen AI means it has the latest on‑device AI features. Wakes up INSTANTLY when opening the lid. Very convenient built-in camera shutter that you can easily slide to cover the camera to protect your privacy. Summary of what could be drawbacks for some —------------------------------------------------------------ Only 16GB RAM might not be enough for some types of work. While the specs say you get up to 22hrs of battery life, I only got 6 to 9hrs. No fingerprint reader. No included USB-C to HDMI adapter to connect an external monitor. DETAILS —---------- I am enjoying this laptop a lot! Very convenient to carry around because it’s thin and ultra light (only 2.8 lbs); very fast/responsive; and its display is the best I’ve ever owned. I have another OLED laptop as well as an OLED TV, which I thought had great displays, but the moment I turned on this HP laptop, I could immediately see a huge difference. I watched a few movies that I know have great visuals, and wow, everything is just so well defined and the colors just pop out! You can’t truly know what you’re missing until you see this laptop’s 3K OLED display! I also love that it wakes immediately upon opening the lid, just like a tablet or mobile phone! In other laptops, it can take anywhere from 2 seconds to almost a minute. This one is instantaneous when it’s sleeping and it takes about just 10 seconds when it’s hibernating. In my tests, it switches from sleep mode to hibernation mode after about 40 hours of it being sleeping. To me, this is fantastic because this means that I can close the lid and, even if I don’t use the laptop for over a day, the moment I need it, I can just open the lid and it’s immediately on, no waiting! Just amazing! Another small detail that I truly appreciate is its camera shutter. Built in right above the camera, you can simply slide it to cover the camera for privacy! No more using a paper, napkin or tape to cover the camera when you need privacy, lol! NextGen AI means you have the latest technology that can take advantage of all the AI features Windows 11 has to offer such as Windows Studio Effect and new features not available in other AI-capable laptops such as “Recall”. I personally haven’t turn “Recall” on, which is supposed to capture continuous snapshots of your screen, allowing you to search your past activity (like a timeline) and jumping back to any moment (ex: it would find and open a webpage you recall having opened but didn’t remember which one). But the point is that this laptop is ready with the latest on-device AI technology. Drawbacks - Only a few that might not matter depending on how you’ll use this laptop - Only 16 GB RAM - The biggest drawback in my opinion is that it only has 16GB of RAM. While this is more than enough for this laptop to be used at home or school (playing music, movies, online games, using Copilot, searching the internet, using apps, etc), it does limit how it can be used for work purposes. If you are a software developer, for example, this might limit what you can do. Using VMs (Virtual Machines) wouldn’t be a great experience for example. At this moment, for example, the taskbar says I’m currently using 12GB RAM already and I only have a few tabs open in Microsoft Edge, nothing else other than the normal background processes including the anti-virus app. To be clear, I haven’t experienced a slowdown at all so far, but I have mainly used this laptop to play movies, music, online games, browse the internet and use Copilot. - Battery - Battery life is better than other laptops I have, which I really appreciate. However, after reading the specs saying it lasts up to 22hrs, my expectations were high and I was disappointed it has only lasted between 6hrs (mainly watching movies online and letting my kid play online games) to 9hrs (mainly trivial tasks like browsing the internet, writing emails, etc).. Here are some stats that I collected that might be useful: – When using the laptop “lightly” (ex: browsing the internet, writing some emails/docs), battery drains about 10% per hour – When using the laptop with more intense tasks (ex: watching online movies, playing online games), battery drains about 16% to 17% per hour – In sleep mode, the battery drains about 1% every 4 hours. So, not using it for 24hrs will drain it about 6% – In hibernation mode, the battery does not drain. But to get to the hibernation mode, expect your laptop to first drain 10% because it takes about 40hrs of sleep to get to hibernation mode - No HDMI port or included adapter - While it’s now common not to have ports other than USB-C ports, for the price, I would have appreciated an included adapter. When using a laptop for work, it’s very common to have an external monitor and having a USB-C to HDMI adapter is essential. - No fingerprint reader - Facial recognition has worked great so far. However, I wouldn’t mind having a backup fingerprint reader which has been handy in other laptops I’ve owned when facial recognition fails (it tends to fail 30% to 40% of the time for my kid in other laptops but I haven’t created an account for my kid on this one).

Review of HP OmniBook The latest laptop from HP for Ultra Mobile category out of box holding on hand feels very compact and light, almost as could be as a tablet with keyboard. In the box, it comes simply the notebook itself OmniBook Ultra, Charging Cable and Adapter. Then the usual and for long known Microsoft Windows processes to update and completion that would take between 3 to 4 hours if one wants to have all the updates. Once its initial setting is completed, as starting to navigate in browser and opening multiple windows and task, can notice its speed for which accelerate the processing. It feels smooth the order in which the windows being opened and can move around across different area of the window, doesn’t lag while moving the windows and images. It’s 3k OLED Display excel the experience as it all even reading comfortable to the eyes. Typing the keyboard, feels comfortable as well. Can feel the bouncing effect smoothly as type with speed. With backlit feature, make the case for the type of notebook. Now, on its weight, it weight appx 2.81lb, to give idea the Dell XPS with Serie 3 Intel Core 5 weight appx 2.2lb (1kg)., and approximately equivalent to 6 of iPhone 17 Pro. Another remarkable and unique to the HP Ommibook is the charging adpater is a 65 W USB Type-C® GaN power adapter, and the charging cable can be detachable. This although is a minor detail, it makes practical to place in the backpack or for trips organization. The HP OmniBook connectivity consist of - 1 headphone/microphone combo - 3 Thunderbolt™ 4 with USB Type-C® 40Gbps signaling rate (USB Power Delivery 3.1, DisplayPort™ 2.1, HP Sleep and Charge) And for the camera includes cover which makes handy for security purpose or privacy during meeting. The primary battery is a 4-cell, 70 Wh Li-ion polymer, which makes above average level of battery, and allow to use during the flight. And it can be used for long hours for tasks from light as browsing and watching movies to heavy coding. Regarding the chip, the Intel Core Ultra 7 is for purpose of Making AI content, editing videos, multitasking, and using advanced apps. With 16gb of memory and 1tb of storage, give enough resources for heavy usage. Moreover if it is intended for AI, it has Intel® AI Boost (50 NPU TOPS) that gives sufficient enough for the workload while optimizing the battery life as per its specifications. I haven’t tested to its detail to the extend of benchmarking, 50NPU is beyond the normal usage. Based on the short time of usage, to summarize, HP Omnibook Ultra 14” is very practical but still focused on the heavy usage range and not coming short for AI processing and still be able to have entertainment all in a single notebook. As only last detail, nothing to do with performance, would have loved to see that the power adapter have included adaptable for international outlet since it has been designed to be cable detachable and GaN power adapter.

I’ve been using the HP OmniBook with the Intel Core Ultra 7 356H, and it has been an excellent upgrade for everyday productivity. It feels fast, responsive, and reliable for work, browsing, streaming, and general use. The performance is smooth with this processor. Apps open quickly, multitasking is effortless, and the system stays responsive even with multiple windows and tabs open. It’s not designed for heavy gaming or demanding 3D work, but for productivity and daily tasks, it performs extremely well. The touchscreen is sharp, colorful, and very responsive. It’s great for navigation and media, though I do wish it had a matte finish. The glossy screen looks nice but reflects surrounding objects more than I prefer, especially in bright rooms. The backlit keyboard is one of my favorite features. It feels premium and comfortable to type on. The trackpad has a unique, satisfying click that sets it apart from other laptops I’ve used. The audio is surprisingly loud for a laptop this size. It easily fills a room and stays clear during videos, calls, and music. Much better than I expected from a compact device. Copilot integration has been genuinely useful. It helps me look up information quickly, stay organized, and get things done faster. It feels like a natural part of the workflow. With 16 GB of RAM and a fast SSD, the system handles multitasking well and stays quick when opening files or switching between apps. Storage is generous and should last a long time before needing cleanup. The size and weight are perfect for portability. I moved down from a 16 inch laptop, and this feels much easier to carry while still offering plenty of screen space. The overall design looks and feels high end, with a solid build and clean finish. You can do light gaming on this laptop, but for newer or more demanding titles, you’ll want something with a dedicated GPU. This machine is built for productivity first, gaming second. Overall, the HP OmniBook with the Intel Core Ultra 7 356H is a premium feeling, highly portable laptop that delivers excellent everyday performance. The keyboard, trackpad, touchscreen, audio, and Copilot features all come together to create a modern, well rounded device that’s great for work, travel, school, and general use.

With my line of work I find myself going through work laptops a ton throughout my trips. I am always looking for a very light laptop that has good battery life to complete my work. I decided to try out this laptop and was pleasantly surprised at the battery length and sharp screen. Right out of the box it was ready to be setup, the box itself does not have much contents although I am very impressed with the direction they chose for the power block. Its in a vertical shap making it very easy to plug into congested outlets at airports. Upon first boot is the Windows 11 setup which is a pain , so sluggish and takes forever on the windows updates. I do not blame HP for this nor its laptop, unfortunately its a windows 11 thing. After the Win11 setup thats when the fun begins. I really appreciate the HP applications that comes preinstalled to help keep this machine up to date. However this machine does come with some bloatware so I always uninstall copilot, McAfee and a few others. Keep in mind this is a work machine not a gaming machine. It has onboard graphics that can handle basic games but thats about it. The ram is only 16GB which is very low for anything that requires a ton of resources so dont expect to perform video edititing on this machine. I do like the monitor refresh rate being at 120Hz and the Hard drive being a fast SSD so it helps when working on spreedsheets. As mentioned before the battery life is very impressive on here which makes it great for traveling! Overall I enjoy using this machine as a work laptop and recommend it for anyone who needs one just for business.
