This is a great game room addition! It’s sturdy, easy to set up, and perfect for practicing shots or having fun indoors. The HDMI out is a cool feature but it doesn’t like 8k HDMI cables for some reason. It works fine with basic ones.

Super accurate! Was skeptical at first, but I decided to buy for Christmas and I gotta give credit where credit is do! The shot tracking accuracy is really good. Always knows where I'm shooting from. Surprised at how accurate it is. Well made product! I recommend to anyone who loves basketball like we do!

I've been using the Huupe Mini for about a week now, and while it’s definitely one of the more interesting things I’ve added to my rec room, it comes with a fair share of frustration. First off, setup was super easy. I liked that everything was included—even the little screwdriver—so I didn’t have to go hunt for tools. It mounted over the door, and once it’s up, it stays put. I was a bit thrown by the net at first...there’s a hole in the back that looked like a factory error. Turns out, that’s where the sensor detects if the ball goes in. Makes sense, but it threw me off at first. Once it’s up and running, it actually is a ton of fun. The built-in screen looks good—no complaints there—but it’s basically a big Android tablet that feels a few years old. It’s a little laggy, and you can’t really do much with it besides what they preload on it. I wish they’d just let us use it like a regular Android tablet so we could download our own apps. They tout watching the NBA, but if the game is on DirectTV what am I supposed to do? If they’re going to use Android, open it up. The shot tracking is accurate - impressively so. I’ve been really impressed with how well it picks up distance and there really weren't many false positives, but a handful of makes didn't register, but that's to be expected with any of these types of games. I was also impressed at the use base. I expected it to be such a niche product that you'd need to have a friend you know to play against, but there’s always someone online to play against. I never had to wait around for a match, which says a lot about the size of the community already. The thing that really bugs me, though, is the battery. You can’t just plug it in and play—it has to charge up first, like a smartphone. And even when you’ve charged it, IF you don’t use it right away, it just drains overnight. I’ve had a few times where I charged it thinking I’d play later, and by the time I went to use it, it was already dead. At this point, I just keep it plugged in constantly, which kind of defeats the purpose of having it battery-powered in the first place. Honestly, at this point and price, I think they should rethink the whole screen idea. If it were up to me, I’d ditch the built-in screen completely and just make it connect to an iPad or tablet through Bluetooth. That way, you’d only need power for the sensors, and the rest could run off a device we already own. It’d be cheaper, lighter, and easier to update. Sure, the screen wouldn’t be as big, but the experience would be smoother—and way more reliable. Overall the Huupe Mini is really REALLY fun...when it’s got power. It drives my wife nuts because it's loud but my daughter and I have a blast so far, but between the battery issues, limited software, and the clunky power setup, it feels like a really nice looking first-gen product that’s still figuring things out. There’s a really great idea in here, and I hope they keep pushing it forward.
