This thing works as advertised. But, it's always warm to the touch whether I use it or not. I think that's unusual. However, if I get up earlier than normal and the office room is a bit chilly, I just pick this thing up and hold it in my hand. Nice warm hands . . . One other thing. Getting the USB plugs in and out require some real effort. They don't just slide in and out like is usually the case.

I use this with my iPad Pro 11” and it works perfectly. The only downside to this item is that it tends to get pretty hot and if you plan to use the HDMI output, make sure to use it in short durations. I also wish that it had a activity led to let you know when your SD card is being read or written to.

Bought this to interface with my iPad and a midi controller (Arturia KeyLab 88). I also use a Korg NanoControl and I send the audio to a PreSonus audio interface. This requires three USB cables routing a lot of data. I tried a few knockoff adapters from Amazon, and unfortunately, they just couldn't handle it. This thing just works. Carries power for the iPad, can send video to an external monitor, and I can even use the ethernet port I necessary. I have been using it for a few weeks with no issues at all. The only negative thing I can come up with is related to price. It is a bit steep at $99. However, with all that it offers, it is worth it if you can spend the extra on it. Based on my needs, I would highly recommend it. If you are just looking for an adapter to allow you to use a keyboard, mouse and an external monitor, maybe other cheaper options would work. If you need some heavier data transfer, go with Hyper. It just works.
