I prefer storylines that encourages the audience to use their minds, their imagination...as compared to action movies where all of the thinking and stimulation is done for them. IRobot takes the audience into one possible outcome of where technology is currently headed especially as it relates to AI. The one critical reality of where we are at today and where we are headed is that no one can unlearn anything. The producer of this movie never addresses this conundrum which would be equally true in this story if not more so. Having said that, though, this is still worth your time to watch, think, and become involved.

This is a sci-fi movie in which Will Smith excels again. The story takes place in the future where robots in the house and working with police and other agencies are considered normal. However, a super version of the common robots are programmed to take control of humans. Will Smith's character has to find out what is wrong with the new robots and how to stop them.

I have read Isaac Asimov's many science fiction books, written decades ago, like 1960's, and his work still holds up. This Will Smith movie version is a well-produced version of the Asimov robot basics, and honors Asimov's work. Excellent movie. Will Smith does not disappoint either!

If you are interested in Issac Asimov or if you are just interested in i,robot, you should at least check out this movie. Will Smith stands out as a lead character here but the fact that it is based on a hugely popular science fiction series more than makes up for it.

I think his picture is an interesting take on the future of robotics and our place in it. Will smith is a cybernetic police office with an ax to grind toward the robots he interacts with, leading to a chilling thought on the future of mankind.

One of my favorite movies. Was shopping for something else and found myself rummaging through the discount DVD bin. I couldn't pass up Will Smith and Bridget Moynahan for $3.99! Good popcorn flick:-)

A classic movie on artificial intelligence, and still kind of makes me paranoid sometimes about the idea of robots, but this is a fantastic movie, and Will Smith is great as always.

If you just want an interesting SF story, this should fill the bill. But if you're a staunch Asimov fan, you may be disappointed, or even possibly upset. The story here is only loosely connected to Asimov's Robot stories. The end credits say it is "Suggested by" Asimov's works (not "Based on"). The film does mention the 3 laws of robotics, and evens mentions the 0th law, but does so in a way that isn't exactly the way Asimov portrayed it. The film stretches things rather severely to show robots acting against man in opposition to the laws. The single BluRay disc contains both 3D and 2D versions of the film. It comes up in 3D mode by default (for menus), and asks which version you want to watch when you choose to play. If you don't have a 3D setup, you can guess the blurred text well enough to make it work. Then again, if you don't have a 3D setup, you probably wouldn't buy this edition anyway. There are no Bonus Features on the BluRay disc. If you really like such additions, and are considering upgrading from the DVD release which had numerous features, then don't worry -- the DVD included in the set is the same one as the DVD release and has all the same features on it. So it just means the BFs you get are all DVD quality instead of HiDef. But you don't lose them.

If you like Will Smith and sci-fi adventures, you outta like this one. It’s fun. CGI is a liiiittle rough around he edges by today’s standards, but was good back then.

I always liked this movie and wanted to pick up a copy in Blu-ray. I especially like this purchase as it also includes a DVD and not everyone has a Blu-ray player

It's Will Smith, no worries you'll be thoroughly entertained. Love the action SMS how seamlessly the robots were incorporated. No disappointments!
I saw this years ago but it was worth re-watching. Even with a clue of the story end, it was good to see how it was put together & unfolded.

2 years later and I still haven't watched this disc yet, but it was a great movie and I'm pretty sure we'll look really good in 3D
