This review is from Idiocracy - DVD

This satire of society is hilarious, but so close to where we almost are it’s frightening. Judge’s follow-up to Office Space is a perfect look at where we are headed quickly as a society (if we ever quit getting offended by everything and everyone who doesn’t agree with us). He’s brilliant with the concept and the cast is great-finally a muted role for Maya Rudolph where she isn’t completely annoying. Luke Owens is terrific and the clinic scene is classic.

If you watch this movie and don't see that its satire is a perfect reflection on the happenings in today's world, then you're part of the problem. Mr. Judge called out the issues in 2006 and, regrettably, they're manifesting themselves more and more each day. Just read the news, watch television or watch people out in the street. This fiction is slowly becoming reality. PS - Brondo RULES!

...and I have. Loaned out previous copy and needed a refresher. I bought 3 copies to give and loan out. First movie to change genre. Made as a comedy, turning into documentary. This movie is like The Ring, (The Ring Spoiler alert) You must share and pass on the info of Idiocracy. All in all, good comedy, good laughs, great quotes.

A classic! Read the Sci Fi short story called Marching Morons in high school which the movie is based off. The movie is a comedy, it perhaps also a documentary as well... Any it was a somewhat hard to find movie on DVD a few years ago, very happy to find it and the price was dirt cheap!

This movie in a way explains how a guy like Trump could ever end up in the White house, and as such it's an unnerving look into a potential future. (Maybe that's why it was so hard to find after the last election.) A really dumb movie, but fun and well worth the $3.95 I paid for it.

this movie had the future pegged . it shows how people are distracted by the internet while the world turns to a nightmare . for a movie being made over ten years ago ,they sure show how people got dumber as the government also deteriorated . just like now .

What a wild interpretation of what the American future could look like. Not suitable for young children. It might disgust or bore you on the first watch, but the substance underneath the facade of idiotic antics will set in and become a good laughable experience.

The movie portrays what our future would've looked like if we just let ourselves NOT further our minds and our intelligence and that's how our world would be if that of our intelligence wasn't further enriched with knowledge and commonsense.

A movie about the not too distant future where we all become idiots and the president is a former wrestler... the movie is a few years old now, so basically it's now the present!

This movie is witty and very timely. I hesitated when I saw who'd directed it, as I hated "Beavis and Bu**head", but this movie is nothing at all like that awful program.

This movie hits just a little too close to home when you think about the fact that it was made in 2006 and yet seems so relevant to what we’re living now. Highly recommend!

Or are we seriously going here, plants crave electrolytes!!!!!! For real though this is a simply, yet, amazingly good comedy. Watch with some friends and you’ll enjoy it!

Ahead of it's time in 2006. A rather ridiculous premise, but one wonders how plausible it actually could be. Bonus feature selection is pretty good. For the price, good deal.

I still like to own & give movies especially for family and friends who don't have internet access at home or at cottage. One of my son's favorite movies. Great price.

Had to pick this up recently. Since having Trump as President this ridiculous movie has taken on new meanings for me. Perhaps a look into our future with how things are going.

When I first saw this movie it was funny, now watching it again it is still funny, but makes me sad. I can see out society going this direction. Great movie!

This is one of the smartest movies ever written with some of the dumbest characters ever written. I just hope that this reality won't happen to humankind.

Idiocracy hits the hammer on the nail in so many different ways on how modern society is headed; but is very comical about doing so. A classic indeed!
