Good cable, worked well to communicate with networking devices.
Excellent product could have been a bit longer other than that the design was great!

This adapter works great! I bought it to connect my laptop to my Ham radio so I can do packet data transmissions. It is working flawlessly and the price was a bargain! I just connected it to my laptop while connected to my home wireless network and the drivers loaded automatically. Easy as pie.

Overall experience: Mostly positive with a crucial caveat An RS-232 to USB adapter does exactly what it's supposed to: it bridges the gap between older hardware with serial ports and modern computers that only have USB ports. For many users, this is a lifesaver, and the adapter performs reliably. However, the quality of the internal chipset and the included drivers can significantly impact your experience. While most adapters work for simple tasks, buyers should be cautious with cheaper, generic models.

So..I’m starting to build my lab and needed a console cable for my routers. I originally was looking for a rollover Ethernet cable, but didn’t want to pay $30+ for it or continue to drive around town to different store. Thankfully, I found half of a Ethernet to RS232 at work. From there a quick Google search led me to Best Buy who had an open box for $8 cheaper than original price. Since purchase I have been able to get my routers setup and can focus my attention on purchasing some switches.

As an Engineer, this was cheap, fast, easy to use for older plc that need rs-232

The only con i have about this is that it could be longer. If I have to extend it, then I need to get a male to female serial cable, which can be hard to locate today. This cable is purely for connecting a computer (usually a newer laptop) without a serial port to a device which has a serial port for input/output. There are several of these on the market, but can be hard to find locally. This cable does its job, its screw pins are correct to the standard (which sometimes on generic or chinese made cables, are wrong) the screws do not fall off easy (which has always been an issue on serial cables, not just the adapters) and its flexible enough to get into tight spaces. I'm using it with a USB C to USB A adapter on a macbook which only has a USB C cable, and with the proper drivers, it works well on both mac and windows. Works fine for me, just wish i had a longer one.

I needed this for work and it worked. They wouldn't pay for it, so I had to buy one.

Worked exactly as hoped for, and did infact function with Windows 11. Length of cable being less than a foot was a real disappointment though.

Well, new computers no longer come with a 9 pin jack to connect printers to. As I have an old tag printer which connects to the computer using a 9 pin cable and my new computer does not have a 9 pin jack, the only way I could figure out how to connect it was with a 9 pin x USB adapter. I use to the printer to print plant tags for our orchid plants when we divide and re-pot them. Once the drivers were installed on the computer, we were back in the tag printing business. Cable worked great.

This adapter saved me! I have an engine analyzer which has a DB9 output connector, but my laptop has no DB9. The manual includes a link to download drivers, so here's a hint: read the instructions! I had to install the drivers for Windows7 twice (did I mention RTFM?), but the bits played together nicely after the second go. The installation is not hard, you just need to watch the sequence, no big deal. I'm a very happy camper.
