Customer Ratings & Reviews

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I recently purchased the Insignia countertop microwave from Best Buy, and I’m very happy with my purchase. The microwave heats food quickly and quietly, is easy to use, and fits perfectly on my countertop without taking up too much space. The controls are simple, and it works great for everyday meals and snacks. What really stood out was the great customer service at Best Buy—the staff was friendly, helpful, and made the buying process smooth and easy. I would definitely recommend this microwave to others looking for a reliable and affordable option.

My prior LG countertop microwave lasted only 7 years. Unlike a remodel or a move-in, this micro purchase was sudden and unexpected. Microwave ovens most usually just die without warning. The magnetron, where the radiation is generated—the heart of the oven—-just quit all of the sudden. So with the expectation to replace like with like, we knew what we wanted for a family of four: Large interior (2.0 cu ft), countertop size, handle on door, no annoying end of cycle jingle, and express time entry pad interface ( “1” = one minute, etc). Things the non-functional LG oven did not have or could do. Besides this new oven being a little loud, and the door hinge seemingly weak in design that could cause the door to sag in the future, this is a very capable microwave that could last many years! Best Buy’s “Insignia” house brand has always impressed us with TV’s, and now microwaves. No, it’s not the GE equivalent, but it could very well be (we’ll see, but also, as a side note, most microwave ovens, not all, but most, are made by Midea or Galanz in China, anyways). P.S. we didn’t want any apps communicating with the oven. Been there, done that. Hate LG. Really liking the Insignia.

Excellent inverter microwave at an affordable price. I had several similar sized microwaves, paid over double the price, all big electronics brands, but none of them could match this performance. They kept falling after two years, loud noise, electrical problems germinating ( like interfering with TV over the air reception). This microwave is noiseless, very low interference, safe power handling. I would recommend to anyone wanting to buy this size microwave.

I replaced this item with a lager size. I love this microwave. The only difference that I have noticed is, me having to squeeze the upper door handle to open the door. I love the size, power and just being able to cook more at once. Oh, not to forget getting a great deal on purchasing open box item.

Its a great value for a large 2.2 cu ft microwave. A microwave this size normally costs double at another retailer. Its also quiet compared to my old microwave.

Incredibly quite. replaced my 8 year old Samsung 1250 watt this pne cooks lots faster and the sensor cooking works perfect love the 2.2 cubic feet size Love everything about it. Need an extra star so I could rate it 6 stars instead of 5

I love it nice price it is quite I just love this product

This Microwave is very nice. Works well and cooks fast. I love it so much.

This microwave is a game changer. It is very quiet and works very well!

Bought this to supplement a high end built in drawer microwave that came with our condo. We were able to place on a self in our pantry because of its light weight. It is large enough for any use we may need. Yes the safety latch for the door is burdensome for two seniors but not enough to dissuade anyone from buying.

Decent size , high powered doesnt take much to warm something up. Love the look

We bought this microwave because of the price/sale, the size and the reviews were better than many others. We are very happy with it. It's very powerful. If there are any complaints it's that it might be just a little too powerful, only because when heating frozen meals you need to use the shortest time in the directions and sometimes a little less than instructed, or things get over done. Overall though, it's great. It's worth the money and I'd recommend it.

I just love our new microwave! Its so much bigger and stronger than our previous one. We certainly got our monies worth. I would definitely recommend this microwave to our friends and family.

Warms food up fast so be careful and mindful of what you are warming up. Also it's big so you must have plenty of counter space.

Would highly recommend this microwave! It runs so quiet and heats things evenly. If need to i would purchase again.

We gave this microwave as a gift. The value for the money spent exceeds itself when you know the recipients. How grateful they were. And not only that, the review rating was exceptional. It’s not one of those huge national brands that inflate their prices just bc of whose name is in the box. The photo is with it in their church kitchen. I love it and God is good!

So far so good. Nice looking, big capacity, low cost microwave.

Works very well and is easy to clean. The controls are just the way I like.

I moved into a new home about 5 months ago and have been w/o a microwave ever since, so when I saw this new Insignia model, I knew I had to finally get one. The new Insignia 2.2 Cu. Ft. microwave arrived in a very large box, but surprisingly, it was light and easy to move around. Getting it set up was super simple, just remove a few stickers, plug it in, and you're good to go. This thing is pretty big and it takes up a good chunk of counter space, so I highly encourage anyone considering it to double-check the dimensions and measure their space carefully before buying. I made sure to do that ahead of time, and it fits perfectly where I planned. Just remember, like most microwaves, you’ll need to leave space on the sides, top, and back for proper ventilation. If one side is 3 inches away from a refrigerator or a wall, that’s fine, as long as the other side is open with room to breathe. I like that the front legs have a rubberized grip that helps keep the unit from sliding when you open and close the door, but it’s not enough. It still slides just a bit, and I can’t help but wonder why they didn’t put the same rubber feet on the back legs too. The front legs also spin around, so it would’ve made sense for them to be adjustable, but they're not. My unit has a slight wobble, probably because my counter isn’t perfectly level, and with something this large, even the smallest slope can cause that. Adjustable front legs would’ve solved that easily. As far as the controls go, everything is pretty standard. The layout is intuitive, and most of the functions make sense. I’d suggest keeping the instruction manual handy for the first few weeks, either in a drawer nearby or stuck to the fridge, because there are quite a few auto-cook and power settings that aren’t immediately obvious. There is a quick menu sticker, at the top, when you open the door, but you will need to become familiar with it. You’ll probably end up memorizing the ones you use most, but it’s helpful to have that quick reference early on. Which makes me think it’s about time to upgrade microwave displays and control panels. It’s been basically the same thing for as long as I can remember and I’ve always struggled with trying to determine how to use some of the programmed menu buttons w/o having the manual around. The timer works great, and I find myself using it all the time. I also really like that there’s an option to turn off the clock display when it’s not in use. With so many appliances already glowing numbers at me all day, I appreciate the option to tone it down a bit. Inside, this microwave is extremely spacious. The large glass turntable has no problem handling oversized plates, casserole dishes, or even multiple smaller dishes at once. It’s probably more room than I personally need, but it’s great for families or anyone who cooks in batches. In terms of performance, it works really well. I’ve used it for a variety of everyday things like melting chocolate and butter, heating leftovers, making popcorn, and cooking frozen meals. Everything came out just right using the custom preset features…. except for the popcorn. That’s the one thing I’d be cautious about. I used the built-in popcorn preset and ended up with a burnt bag. After checking a few other popcorn brands, I noticed that many of them actually say not to use the popcorn button at all. So, honestly, I don’t know why manufacturers still include that setting, yet another reason to update the control panel. It’s probably better to just manually enter a time recommended on the bag, and stop it as soon as the popping slows down. Something I noticed is that the microwave is really quiet compared to the last one I had. You can barely hear it running, even at full power, which is kind of rare for a 1200W unit. The sensor cooking and inverter technology really do seem to help with even heating and defrosting, especially compared to older microwaves that just blast food in bursts. There are a few things to note that aren’t necessarily deal-breakers, but worth mentioning. The cord is on the shorter side, so placement near an outlet is important. Also, the door handle has a built-in release that might throw you off at first, it’s not a push button or standard pull, it’s like a trigger button at the top of the handle that you press as you pull the door open, but you get used to it quickly. Overall, I’m really pleased with this microwave. The power, the size, the quiet operation, and the consistent results all make it a strong buy. If you're looking for a large, family-sized microwave that feels solid and gets the job done without being overly complicated, I’d highly recommend this one. It looks good, works well, and should last for many years.

After researching several brands of microwaves. I purchased this Insignia 2.2 cu ft Countertop Microwave. I have had it a little over a month. No joke, it's a dream. Good looking, powerful, yet so quiet. So roomy on the inside, huge glass turntable, nice bright light. Lots of settings and pre-sets, and so easy to use. If I had to have a gripe, it's the latch on the handle. It's clunky. Minor bother. Insignia is known for its quality microwaves. I had an Insignia TV years ago and it was great. I can tell this microwave will be the same. I also got lucky with a fantastic deal on an open box item. Peace out.
