Very nice, solid build. It does the job of cooling down the room quickly. Simple setup porting to the window. More than enough accessories are provided and are of good quality. This is way more preferred to a window unit! Really, the only issue it has for me is the cover vibrating (when the compressor kicks in.) Adding a little mass to the sides (mass-tape) quiets it right down. I haven't used all of its modes - I just start it cooling and walk away. It's standing on a board, not carpet, and it rolls very easy. For that reason, I prefer to use the remote. The remote is easy to read and is kept at the other end of the room. It comes with a clear hose to drain any water down to a bin. It's hooked up but hardly anything, if anything, drains out. At the end of June when the humidity climbs there might be more water collected.

This unit exceeded all expectations. Great size for small dorm or apartment. Setup was quick and easy, and it cools the room fast and efficiently. It is fairly quiet. Great value!

My downstairs office room, which measures 200 sq.ft., doesn't receive adequate air conditioning from our centralized AC unit, making it uncomfortably hot in summer. To address this issue, I opted for a portable AC unit Insignia 350 Sq.Ft. Initially, I was concerned about installation due to our security alarm system. The exhaust vent of the AC unit needed to be passed through a window that had to remain open during operation, causing the window to lose contact with the alarm sensors and preventing the room from being armed. Additionally, leaving the window open posed a security risk. To resolve these challenges, I contacted my security alarm company and requested they install a sensor on the side of the window instead of relying on the existing one. I also had a window door lock installed to ensure the window remained securely closed when needed. With these adjustments in place, the AC unit now operates as expected, keeping my office pleasantly cool even on hot days. Btw, Thank you to Best Buy for offering free installation of this portable AC unit

Last August the temperatures spiked to the high 90s and my aging central air stopped working. I had just gotten done paying for some other home upgrades and could not afford to replace the AC and furnace (also old). I was able to go pick up this unit the same day my central air went out and it was able to keep my 800ish sq ft (bigger than the unit is rated for) living/ work from home area livable for the rest of the season. Since i have vertical sliding windows this was the best solution. The install kit comes with everything you need but would recommend some removable tape to really deal things up tight. The expanding exhaust hose lets you position the unit wherever convenient and gives about 4 feet of travel. This unit really pumps out the cold air ! On AC mode or "dry" it makes lots of cold air and dehumidifies at an impressive rate, which helps the air feel cooler. I did need to monitor my drain bucket closely, as the unit was producing about 2 gallons of water every 3.5 hours -- once I figured out the cadence, the timer feature was great. The unit is also pretty quiet, and didn't interfere with my frequent online meetings for work. I'd recommend this unit to anyone who needs supplemental or temporary AC for a medium space.

I am by no means a picky consumer so I will say that this air conditioner was a absolute great buy! We bought it since we live in a one bedroom upstairs apartment and heat rises so our bedroom would be an oven. Between me and my wife we installed it with the window kit in about 10 minutes or less. We love the remote control it comes with and leave it on running for about a couple hours until the cool night kicks in. Our bedroom is medium size and it cools it efficiently within 15 minutes or so to a cool 75 degrees. We have yet to move it to the living room since the most important thing to us is to sleep cool so we haven’t tested it in on a bigger room but the power on it probably won’t cool it as well but it might be better then no cooling at at. Overall would recommend to someone looking to sleep and be comfortable in their bedroom.

The unit was very easy to install. I bought it to keep my kitchen cool while I cook in the summer time. Best idea ever! It worked so well at cooling off the area even though I had the oven going and it was about 97 out. The best part is that I can easily take it to my living room once I’m done in the kitchen. It has wheels for smooth moving across my apartment from one room to the next. I love this AC! Side note, put the hose in a bucket to collect the water that drips. I only realized that after…

I’ve been using this A/C unit for about a year and overall, I’m really happy with the purchase. It’s a solid choice if you’re looking for an affordable and effective cooling solution for a small- to medium-sized room. If you need a reliable, budget-friendly portable AC for a bedroom, home office, or small living space, the Insignia unit delivers. It’s not perfect due to the noise and size but it performs well for the price and cools really fast. I’d recommend it for anyone who needs a non-permanent cooling option.

Got this for a game room. Didn't realize it uses 11.9 amps until it blew the breaker twice. This will most likely require it's own dedicated circuit plug in your home if running any other electronics on the same circuit on a 15amp breaker. It was absolutely heaven when it was on and going though. Got the game room down to 68 with two gaming PCs on and spewing out warm air.

This AC works exactly how we need it to for our room. Very easy to install. Love the remote control access and how easy it is to use. Would recommend to anyone looking to cool down their room. Also a great price point!

Unit does a good job of cooling a room. Has thermostat settings on the unit as well as having a remote that includes its own thermostat. Can also run continuously, has a sleep timer. Easy, fast install.

My bedroom AC went out during a heat wave so this was an emergency purchase. The reviews were good, easy installation, let's see how it goes I thought. Well it goes great. I got this on 6/20 & today is 8/1. I have not had to drain it yet. Keeps my bedroom as cool as it can considering the heat & horrible insulation in my apartment. It's super easy to install, took 10 minutes maybe. Then when summer is over I'll take it out & wheel it to the closet. Very happy with this.

I purchased this unit for a (just under) 300 sqft living room. This unit does well at maintaining atleast 75 degrees in this room if the outside temps do not exceed around 85. We have had a few days so far that exceeded 95 (which is not common around here)and this unit will cool the room to the low 80s. This unit does a really good job of dehumidifying the air so it feels cooler than it actually is most of the time. Overall i am happy with my purchase and just bought the 250sqft unit for my bedroom.

Thanks for the detailed review, bazookajo564! It’s great to hear how well the unit handles typical temps and dehumidifies effectively. Smart move picking up the 250 sq. ft. model for your bedroom—hope it works just as well!

Nice and cold plus not noisy. So far have not had to drain any water from it. Easy to move around but limited by length of exhaust hose.

It gets too hot in summer time here in CA but this portable air conditioner is doing a great job in maintaining cool air in our room. It is a little loud but it does not bother me at all. I would recommend it to anyone who is looking for a good quality air conditioner.

I just set this up and am pleased with how quick it cooled down the bedroom. Machine is not too loud compared to other portable AC units I’ve had in the past. I will say that for the amount you pay, their brackets and parts should come in better shape. I the parts out of the box and found the part that goes on the window already slightly broken. Luckily I could still use it as is but for the price you pay I expect the parts to not look like this.

This is a really good portable AC. Easy set up. My air handler went out on a Saturday, I’m here in south Texas so it’s really hot. I got this one to get by for one room, it cools it off In minutes. Then next day I got another one another room just to be safe. Again easy set up…these 106 degree hot days we use it to cool down a room for a bit, it’s awesome.

Very simple installation, I just installed it in my attic as it’s my only space for a movie theater. It’s already 5 degrees colder and less humid! It didn’t really fit my window but it comes with airtight seals you can use to make it fit. If you cut too much they give you extra. Love it
