The 8'cord has been a life saver the longer cord gave me more reach to the outlet. The cord holds several devices around the tv. And protects them all from surges. There are 6 outlets that can be used internet , the modem and also the dvd player and can hold more it's great we love it

Good surge protector, used to protect a bedroom tv and blu-ray player. There is a black one that's the same price and has the same number of outlets as this one, but that one only has a 4' power cord (this one is 8') and it only offers 600 joules of protection (whereas this model is 900 joules.) This is the better value.
