I like it. It’s much more cinematic than the previous USB-C hub I was using. It displays a much broader level of colors than the previous hub which, was about $20, that I was using. However, I’m not getting any data from the USB-C on the hub. I’m not sure if this is an issue with the hub or with my computer. I started using the hub because the HDMI plug was overheating my laptop. The hub allows me to move that heat off of the laptop itself, and then into an external hub. I’m much prefer this, and this is stopped the video and audio from flickering from my laptop when I use it in a desktop mode. I gave it four stars because the USB-C doesn’t seem to be working, but it’s much more cinematic than the previous hub I was using.

Fast and strong connection, wire doesn't get frayed or shorts. I've used mins for multiple projects and connection different devices at one and it works perfectly.
This hub worked great for exactly what I needed to do and it was cheaper than the apple one and does more. It has Ethernet, Mini HDMI. I needed that for my external monitor I have for my MacBook.

You can get a less expensive one on Amazon but it will not function as well. This USB-C hub is quality made and works seamlessly with my new iMac. Just plug-in. No app or program needed. Only issue is with the iMac. Why are the new iMacs made so inefficient, less hard drive space and less compatibility?

The cable is wrapped in a long lasting flexible material. The unit is compact with enough room for 6 slots. A high quality port for the price.

This insignia 7 port hub is one of those things I was looking for a while. I wanted a hub where I could expand my ports without the need to connect an extra power supply. This hub will give you an additional 2 USB3, 1 HDMI @4K 60hz, 1 USBC, 1 Ethernet port, and 2 SD card readers, 1 micro and 1 standard. All you need to do is plug it to your Thunderbolt/USBC port and that's it. The device itself is small and light. It comes with a braided cable which is flexible and easy to maneuver. I actually used most of the ports at once and the device handled the load very well. This thing can handle up to 85W for power delivery and data transfers of 5Gbps. While using this with my Windows laptop I was able to free up the rear USB slots and use those connected devices with the hub instead. The ethernet connection works like a charm. No driver or extra software was required, just plug and play and I was connected to the internet. PC or Mac are not the only devices you can use this hub. This also works with Android, ChromeOs and IpadOs. I connected it to my mobile phone and used the HDMI to project the phone to the TV and it worked. With a Samsung phone it will launch the Samsung DeX on the TV and the phone will act as a mousepad, pretty cool. You can also attach storage devices while using the hub with the phone. Indeed this hub sounds like the perfect hub, but it is not. The only USB-C port available in the hub is only for power delivery. That will be a trade off for those who's laptops has 2 or less USBC ports. Overall this hub works and performs very well without the need of extra wires or power supply. It is nicely made and with its small footprint is perfect for travel. It has a variety of ports that will accommodate most types of peripherals and will not break your bank. In the box you get the hub and manual.

I certainly understand that laptops with thin cases and small main boards may not have enough room for lots of connectivity options. However, it just seems to me that some manufacturers have decided that one USB-A port and one USB-C port are all we will have on their laptops. I believe that this is ridiculous and unacceptable, nevertheless we consumers frequently are compelled to compromise and accept that lack of connectivity in laptops. The Insignia 7-Port USB-C Hub is a handy tool for mitigating some of the connectivity deficiencies that has become the rule rather than the exception. The Insignia 7-Port Hub is compact. It measures approximately 4-5/8” x 1-7/8” x 5/8” thick. The case is mostly metal and the hub has a solid heft, weighing 3.5 ounces (102 grams). The hub connects to a laptop with a USB-C cable with a braided cover which is 6.5” long and permanently attached to the hub. On one long side of the Insignia 7-Port Hub are two USB-A 3.0 Ports (5 Gbps), 1 HDMI Port (4K 60Hz) and one USB-C Power Delivery Port (USB-PD) rated for up to 85 watt power delivery. The narrow end of the hub has a 1 Gbps Ethernet port. The other long side of the hub provides card slots for SD cards and Micro SD cards. The Insignia 7-Port USB-C Hub works reliably. I have used it with three Windows 11 laptops from different manufacturers, two Chromebooks and an Android tablet without any issues at all. Every device that I have connected to the Insignia 7-Port Hub are properly recognized and work without any difficulties. External DVD drives, external SSDs, USB drives all work as they are expected to. Likewise, the HDMI port worked without issues with a 4K monitor. The Insignia 7-Port USB-C Hub is not without shortcomings, however. The USB-C port cannot be used for data. It is exclusively for power delivery. The USB-A ports only support USB 3.0 at 5 Gbps. It would certainly be better if the USB ports supported USB 3.2, USB 4.0 and Thunderbolt 4. Overall, the Insignia 7-Port Hub is a convenient tool for having some additional needed connectivity with any laptop or tablet. It is compact and lightweight, works reliably and without any issues, and is OS agnostic.

This is a great device overall that will likely meet the needs of most users looking for a hub that does it all. The only downsides are limited bandwidth and USB-C ports. Otherwise, it is great for travel or just expanding abilities of a laptop. Pros: -Lots of ports -Good overall speeds -Small size -Durable build Cons: -Faster options out there (5Gbps) -HDMI is limited to 4k 60hz -USB-C port does not provide power to other devices (hard drives) The device only requires one USB-C port which is convenient, though it comes with the drawback of limited speeds as others which might have two connections provide much higher bandwidth to devices. Using it with my 4K monitor, it does just fine but keep in mind it is limited to 60hz only. Additionally, I tried the USB-C port to plug in a SSD hard drive which it would not recognize. The port is labeled USB-C input and provides up to 85W to the laptop when used with a 100W adaptor. Of note, the box states “USB-C port needs DP-ALT mode to connect to a display.” There is both Micro SD and SD card slots which is great for photographers. Using CrystalDiskMark I was able to get the following speeds. 512GB MicroSD Samsung Pro Plus 159 MB/s read. 119 MB/s write. I thought it was a little strange that the SD card slot will require you to insert the card upside down, it is a minor detail but just a little strange when first trying to put my card in. This is the hub I will keep in my laptop bag as it is good for pretty much any situation, especially as most laptops do not come with HDMI or Ethernet (1Gbps speed) these days.

I highly recommend this product for its ease of use, versatility, and affordability. It offers a variety of ports including USB-C, Ethernet, and HDMI, making it a convenient solution for connecting multiple peripherals to your laptop. I like this compact size and ability to expand connectivity for work or personal use. Although the length is short but still very easy to use

This a great hub. I have a couple of these and the first one I bought several years ago is still working well. I like that they are fairly small. I feel that this is a dependable brand for hubs in general so I will definitely purchase this brand again if I need another hub in the future.

We purchased this device to replace several others of a different brand that continually failed. So far, it is operating perfectly well. It does run a little warm, but we have not had any issues. if I get the chance after we have had it for a while, I can update this review.

Hi there! Thanks for the thoughtful review. We’re happy to hear the hub is performing well so far—especially after replacing less reliable ones. Appreciate the heads-up about the warmth and your plan to update later!

Compact size , works great! I use this as a docking station for my laptop and it is a gamechanger! much more affordable than an actual docking station.

I bought this to save the data from my mom's broken Galaxy Flip. Connect it to the phone and connect a mouse to the Hub and an HDMI to a TV or monitor and you can still navigate through the phone and move data around to and external USB. I now take it with me whenever I travel with my laptop, it has come in handy more than once helping my family or friends back home, even if I don't actually have a use for it. It's one of those things that are good to have laying around for whenever they're needed.

I bought this to expand the ports on my MacBook Neo. I use it for the HDMI connection to an external monitor and for a HDD used as my Time Machine backup. It does what I hoped for and expected. The Best Buy Insignia brand is reliably competent and affordable. I have several peripherals by the Insignia brand.

Very good! I had an Anker hub but it didn’t have HDMI, so I got this one. Both are good, but this one has 1 HDMI port for projecting my tablet screen to my TV, 2 SD card ports (1 large and 1 small), 2 USB-A ports for my M&K, a USB-C power port which charges my tablet, a USB-C which plugs into my tablet, and an Ethernet port (if you use direct internet connection). Perfect for what I use it for daily. It gets a little hot, but I just turn my tablet brightness way down and it helps somewhat, and also keeps the tablet charged. Since the screen is duplicated on my TV, I do not really need my tablet screen to be bright once I plug it into the TV.
