Q: How do you replace the batteries, they came with the light but they are in a black cover .do you have to remove the cover.

A: Do not remove the batteries from the cover. The black cover is inserted into the housing under the LED Light Head. If you look at the head with the LED Light, there are two hexagon shapes like a normal threaded nut. The head will unscrew just below the hexagon area and once the head is separated, you can insert or remove the plastic battery holder, with the positive end facing the LED lights. Take a thin finger nail file, or blade, and insert in between the side area between two of the button batteries and push against the end with the protruding plastic rim, which is the "positive" end of the batteries, and the end battery will pop out, then the others can be removed easily when they need to be replaced. You can identify the positive end of the battery by the end with a "+" sign stamped on the metal battery housing.

Versatile, durable, sufficient brightness
LED lights for long lasting battery life. I was pleasantly surprised by the strenghth of the brightness of the light that it cast. Well constructed strong metal chasis. Time will tell if it will hold up with extending and retracting which appears to possibly be the only chink in it's seemingly well-constructed armour. For now it seems you could drive a car over it and it would continue to function and no damage would come to the chasis. Smart versatile design. The magnet on the end of the light allows you to pick up perhaps fallen screws out of hard to reach areas with its telescoping/bending design and moderately small flash light head. This is a tool, not just a flashlight.

My best quick go to tool for lightning.
I picked one of these up just because. It has been one of my best tools for a quick light and it even has a magnet on the end of it to help pick up things in between the cracks. The light is LED and shows off sufficient brightness which I love. I am well pleased with it and will more than likely buy another. The kids love it because they can slide it right in their pockets no problem.

Nice and bright
This is a handy flashlight that is nice and bright. It has some heft to it which I wasn't expecting. It kind of feels like those tactical flashlights. But the big advantage is the telescoping bendable light. I haven't had a reason to use that feature yet, but I love the flashlight and it was a great deal!
