Q: Does this machine keep the ice frozen all day (or until you use it)?
A: Yes. As long as the machine is on it holds the ice. As you use Ice it will make more as long as the water tank is full. It's is loud and if you turn it off it does melt but goes back into the tank.
Q: Do you have to fill up a tank or can you connect it to a water line?
A: They don't sell one with the unit, but you can attach an external tank to the lower drain line and it keeps the internal tank full. Eliminates hassle of removing the ice drawer constantly to fill the reservoir. This will work with a gravity fed tank only. Any pressurized water line would overflow the internal tank. I kept the external tank from my broken Opal and attached it to the Lower reservoir drain line. Works like a charm!

A: Yes you can! Any ice that’s being made just drops into the bottom of the ice maker in the water.
