Very K00L tech toy that allows you to Mirror anything on your Laptop or IPAD, Etc., to any HDMI Monitor(s), especially given any WiFi or connectivity issues. Some devices may need additional adapters or have to connect via a mini docking station. This is something one might use when their Laptop or mini docking station has No HDMI inputs or if you’re making a presentation and either there is crappy in and out WiFi or no WiFi at all. Digital DJs may benefit from this tool, allowing their media to be viewed on Huge Foreign HDMI screens or older non WiFi HDMI Monitors. I’m no tech wizard, just know from personal experience that this unit works, can help out when needed and is a good buy given its capabilities to cost ratio.

I have a four mongrel (Craigslist, thrift store, new) monitor setup. I have an Optiplex 5050 SFF that came with three monitor ports (HDMI, DP X 2). That I "upgraded" to Windows 11. But I added a VGA daughter board option that plugged into the motherboard and the port into the back of the case after removing the port plate. For my VGA-PS/2 KVM. So I should have four monitor ports now? Um, no. The Intel chipset only allows three video connections total. So, took the path I did with the BE-PA3UVG and my Optiplex 9020. (My review is there) Monitor #4 had an empty HDMI port, so USB->HDMI adapter it was. This time went with the Insignia version. (Having downloaded the Quick Setup Guide first this time!!! Where it read "The driver installs automatically" for Windows 10.) Open-Box. Ordered 7/24; shipped 7/24 from Zelienople, PA; arrived 7/27 SE MN via FedEx. Even though it was low-end Open-Box (lowest priced version), package was in good shape and had the Quick Setup Guide and bubble wrap. But would the driver automatically install for Windows 11??? (I imaged (backed up) drive C before I started.) I was signed in with the Admin account on the 5050. My systems always have two accounts: Admin and (Standard) User. I always sign in with User unless Admin is required (Device Manager, Disk Management, etc.). After the 9020 experience, in Device Manager expanded Display adapters, Monitors and Universal Serial Bus controllers ahead of time. Followed the instructions: Turned the monitor off, plugged the HDMI cable from the monitor into the adapter (nice and snug), turned the monitor on, plugged the adapter into a USB 3 port in the back of the 5050. After a few seconds I heard tones from the speaker as the install started. The driver install was successful!!! I right mouse clicked on the desktop -> Display settings and rearranged/dragged the displays to reposition the now four monitors. (Monitor #4's driver was already on the system.) Windows Settings -> Bluetooth & devices > Devices lists two items: Insignia USB3.0 Display Adapter Insignia USB3.0 Display Adapter Station (Connected to USB 3.0) Device Manager lists two items: Under Display adapters: Insignia USB3.0 Display Adapter Driver Provider: Insignia Driver Date: 12/23/2025 Driver Version: 1.9.2501.1223 Digital Signer: Microsoft Windows Hardware Compatibility Publisher Under Universal Serial Bus controllers: Insignia USB3.0 Display Adapter Station Driver Provider: Insignia Driver Date: 10/21/2025 Driver Version: 1.0.2501.1021 Digital Signer: Microsoft Windows Hardware Compatibility Publisher Pleased as punch having four monitors running! (If there was no install, I likely would have installed on a Windows 10 system. Then find the new directories in C:\Windows\System32\DriverStore\FileRepository. Copy them over. Then in Device Manager update the driver by pointing to one of these directories. But fortunately I didn't have to.)

So there I was, trying to connect an old PC tower to a new monitor. I needed an adapter to connect the PC's USB connection to the monitor's HDMI. Went down to Best Buy, where I was assisted by my new best friend, Sergio. He fixed me up in no time and I was out of there. At home, I plugged in the adapter, and literally seconds later I was in business. This item is somewhat pricey, but it does exactly what it is supposed to do. This was a good purchase.

OK. Just wanted to add my experience. I have a Dell laptop with the following ports: hdmi, usb-c (not display port compatible)! Usb 3.0 and usb 2.0. I have 2 lg 29 in ultrawide monitors. Both work with 2560x1080 from hdmi port. I had a hard time figuring out why I couldn't get 2nd monitor to have correct resolution (kept at 1920x1080 max) I bought about 5 adapters. At some point I realized usb-c did not support display. Finally realized I had usb 3.0 - hdmi adapter was plugged into usb 2.0 port. Voila plugged in usb 3.0 - hdmi adapter into usb 3.0 port. My 2nd monitor has 2560x1080 resolution in display settings. Spent weeks on this problem. 1. Check hdmi cable works in hdmi port. 2. Check if usb c is compatible as display adapter (it would be specified, if not listed it isn't compatible) 3. Check which ports are usb 3.0 I bought insignia usb 3.0 - hdmi 4k adapter Model:NS-PA3UHD Now that I figured it out it is likely I could have found a cheaper adapter. Biggest thing is to determine what each of your ports are. Buy the right adapter. Dual ultrawide now work. My setup is side by side. I am going to post this info wherever I can because no answer provided this much detail. I hope I help with any headaches anyone having. Your support gal

My MSI laptop only allows one HDMI and this worked perfectly to add an additional Port. I can't tell a difference between to external monitors

easy to use compact. Price was a bit more than i was expecting but it works well and is pretty small

Lets say your computer can support 2 monitors, but you need three. What can you do? Buy a new computer? Get your smart nephew to replace the video card? Nope, just walk your tail to BB and pick up one of these USB to HDMI adapters. A cheap easy solution that even an old man can do. Works great.

Excelent way to move from usb to hdmi working great for laptops or static pc. Compared to cheap ones this one u get online this one works flawlessly.

This review was for service today 12/20/2025. Product good as expected. Store check out process would rate one star. Two cashiers 15 or so people when I got in-line. Same number when I finished my purchase.

Works great for most setups. Not compatible with Chromebook though so be careful.

With the lack of sufficient number of ports on your laptop these days, buying this USB to HDMI adapter allowed me to be able to connect to my two additional monitors that I was used to. This adapter was very affordable. (Note: After learning the hard way that the USB-C ports do not support monitor connections, I returned that adapter and bought this one.) This one works great!
