This is the second Evolution Incinerator Excel 1 HP Garbage Disposal that we have owned. The first was purchased and installed in 2009 and was still going strong, but we had a kitchen remodel and decided while we were replacing everything, we would replace this too. We still have the old one and hope to donate it to a friend. The only thing that was wrong is that there is a little silver square metal cover that covers the access to the wires that was missing on the bottom of the new one. We had the plumbers take it off the old one and put it on the new one. We called the company and within a couple of days, customer service sent the missing part, no questions asked, and was very friendly. It still could have been installed without it, but it is something that should be there and would have been an easy fix after the install. This is a little bigger than other garbage disposals both in diameter and height. We knew that because we had already owned this same model, but it did surprise us in 2009 that it takes up a little more space. It is very quiet and does an excellent job. Not the least expensive choice, but since out last one did so well and was trouble free for so many years, it was worth it.

I have just replaced a 1/3 Insinkerator Badger with this top-of-the-line model. I have always been told that this is the best brand made. While I just installed it, the first time I test ran the disposal, I was floored. It is quiet, far quieter than our prior disposal. You cannot hear the motor at all, you only hear the moving parts in the sink. Install was easy, you will NEED plumber's putty as there is no sink seal included. Plumbers recommend putty for this seal anyway as it creates a better seal. This disposal is quite a bit larger than our old Badger model, most likely for insulation and a larger, more powerful motor. This means you have to make sure it will fit under your sink as well as your ability to route all the plumbing properly. My only complaint is directed at Best Buy, not Insinkerator. The disposal was supposed to have a free power connector added, but the system refused to allow me to add it to the order and select any delivery method. I have used the previous device's power cord since it's the same brand. In summation, great product, easy-ish install, and super quiet. Also, it was heavy, very heavy, but the easy attachment of the disposal to the sink connection made that a minimal issue.

This is probably one of the best if not the best garbage disposal on the market right now. Pros: -Very powerful -Very quiet -Installation was easy -Long Warranty Cons: -Expensive -Very large -Very heavy -Drains water slowly/doesn't suck down whatever you are trying to put down the disposal (this is on purpose and helps to keep the noise down)

A bit expensive, but all stainless steel construction, ten years parts warranty are money savers in the long run; it’s super whispering quiet. My only question is if BESTBUY must register it within certain timeframe to ensure 10 year parts warranty, or do I, as a homeowner, must do it? It’s professionally installed under BESTBUY total tech support, and this installation alone paid my annual subscription with longer, two year LABOR WARRANTY!!!

Geat unit very quiet and very powerful. Only thing i would mention is it rather large so make sure it will fit. The only downside is the price, but as it is said you get what you pay for

Wow, went from deafening to wondering if it is on! The Insinkerator elite is a little pricey but the kitchen is right next to the living area in our open concept house so having a quiet disposal is very important. Happy so far and the installation was great.

I got this waste disposal unit to replace on old one that broke. The power is amazing and it has no trouble with anything we put down the sink. Another impressive thing is how little noise it makes.

Insinkerator, of course, makes great products. This model is amazing - super quiet for 1 HP and it even chews up bones!

Best Buy’s totaltech handled the install, and the product is just not good for what you’re paying. First off, there are no screws to secure the sink drain to the insinkerator; there’s only a small clamp which at best will make a poor seal to the drain pipe. Second, every review calling this machine quiet is A LIE. I don’t know what they were paid to lie to your face. It is SO LOUD with water going or actual food inside of it being ground up. It’s only moderately quiet when empty and no water is running (but that’s not why/how we use an insinkerstor….) Third, part of why it’s so loud is because it didn’t come with a VERY STANDARD rubber grommet that controls what falls from the hole in your sink down into the blades of the insinkerstor, which means every single utensil you put in that sink is going to fall in, every baby pacifier or bottle part, every chopstick. The hole is big enough you could potentially lose entire plastic bottles. What’s worse is that without the rubber grommet, water and food SPLATTER EVERYWHERE when the machine is on, because there’s nothing from stopping it spraying back up and out, and it contributes to why this machine is so loud. Absolutely floored, honestly, that Insinkerator made such an oversight at this price point. You’re going to pay $500 for this after tax, you’re going to pay another $100 for installation. You should be getting a perfect machine, a perfect installation from Best Buy, and it should make little to no noise, never splatter, and do its job. So far, I can’t really say that we’ve received any of that for our money’s worth, and I’m really bummed. Definitely buy a different machine; don’t be like me and think “this one is expensive and looks nice, so surely it is the best.” It is not.

Hi NickH! Thanks for sharing your comments. We are sorry to hear that your disposer makes a loud sound because the quiet collar sink baffle is missing. To further assist you, please contact us via https://support.insinkerator.com/app/ask.

Great it is quiet, but very powerful. I don’t like to put any food in the trash, so this is perfect.

This disposal works great and is quiet as can be. A dramatic difference compared to my old disposal which was so loud.

Super quiet and powerful. Top in disposals, last one was still running after 17 years.

My 21 year old 1hp insinkerator finally bit the dust. I knew I had to replace it with another insinkerator disposer. I bought the top of the line unit and installed it myself. The beauty of insinkerator is they are so interchangeable. No exception with this unit. This unit has an anti-vibration feature which my previous unit didn’t. Installation was a breeze. This unit is so quite you really have to listen just to be sure its running. A beautiful thing!! Highly recommend.

Excellent product at a great price. It was advertised and purchased as a unit without a chord, but much to my surprise the chord kit was added during checkout at no charge. Could not be happier with this super quite model. Best Buy had the lowest price and quickest FREE delivery and shopping their website is so dang easy.
