Never Again!
I bought 5 of these purifiers in different sizes and have 1 in each room. I already owned a Shark purifier and was impressed at how well of a job it did cleaning, that I decided to invest in 5 more purifiers. The Shark is great and immediately begins cleaning at the slightest hint of smoke or a cooking odor in the air. I actually moved the Shark to my upstairs bedroom and even from upstairs it can detect me cooking in the kitchen below. As great as the Shark is, it is quite expensive, and I was not willing to pay that price for 5 additional purifiers. I decided on the Instant purifiers because they were on clearance for a great price, and it was made by a reputable brand. Based on how successful they have been with their pressure cookers, I thought I couldn't go wrong. Boy was I ever. This purifier is terrible! I plan to take all of them back. Aesthetically it looks great, and you can't go wrong with either color. I have both colors. They do not do a good job at cleaning. They have great features built in, but they are poorly executed. For example, they have a night feature on it that activates after the lights are turned off in your home and it sits in the dark for about 10 minutes. This feature is meant to quiet the purifier down so that in case you use it in a bedroom, it doesn't keep you awake with too much noise. Even if it detects smoke in the air, it won't turn the fan up high to clean the air quicker and will stay on low until the lights come back on. I burned some toast, and it created a lot of smoke, and even though the Instant had the air quality at 15%, it just stayed on low. I don't like this feature and am fine with the fan turning up high if contaminants are being detected in the air. It also has an eco-mode that puts it to sleep, and it only analyzes the air every 10 minutes. During the time it's in eco mode if there is smoke or any odors in the air, it won't clean the air until the next time it analyzes the air after the 10 minutes is up. Your house can be filling up with smoke and it won't do anything about it until the 10 minutes is up. Now this is only when you have the purifier in auto mode. You do have the option to manually adjust the fan speed at any time. I just prefer devices that give you the ability to set it and forget it. The Shark on the other hand has an eco-mode also, but when it detects something in the air, it immediately wakes up and begins to clean the air. Some people think the Shark is too sensitive, but I prefer it that way. The Instant purifier got a score of 26 with consumer reports, which is poor, and now I understand why.

My helper with my allergies
I have to be honest I never thought these things worked until I get this one. But I noticed a big difference in my allergies and my headaches since we have had it. It keeps the air at 99.9 until I open a door or window for a few minutes then I see how it really works. The air quality goes to 66.8 to around 77.5 with all the fires we are having right now. I am so happy I am going to go buy 2 more for the rest of the house.

My Personal Clean Air Act
Allergies seemed to be flaring up more frequently over the years so, I thought maybe this air purifier would offer some relief. I initially purchased the large one to use in a family room setting for a month. It worked beautifully and was very quiet. This lead to the purchase of two additional medium size units for the Home Office and Master Bedroom. So far, all three units have been doing their jobs very well.
