This is AMC's foray into the world of martial arts. It's a beautiful blend of drama and action. If you enjoy theamatic fighting sequences and characters worth investing in, then I highly recommend this series. The coreography is top notch. We are introduced to a post apocalyptic world where loyalty and servitude are the way of the land. Sonny, the lead character, serves as the number one soldier to a Baron who rules among others in a world broken into factions. We learn more about Sonny and how he ended up in a position of servitude as well as what he stands to lose and what he is willing to sacrifice to defend it all. With only 6 episodes in the first season, you find yourself wanting more by the time it is over. The story is rich, the characters are exciting and the overall tone will keep you wanting more. With a second season on the way sometime in 2017, you will find yourself screaming when it ends. I don't want to reveal any significant details as I personally hate spoilers. If this sounds compelling enough for you, there are plenty of places that you can search for in terms of more telling details. AMC has managed to deliver another sure to be hit and I look forward to many seasons to come!

WOW. Like other newer TV shows, the production is very movielike. The sound, images, set design, lighting and costumes are top notch. The fight scenes are over the top much like Kill Bill or the Matrix. It is a JOY to watch and hopefully will continue beyond the 6 episodes scheduled for this introductory season. Dramatic TV continues to dazzle and tell long dramatic stories that can't be told in a two hour feature, Into the Badlands is no exception. Time will tell, but this action drama may turn out to be one of the elite shows everyone will be talking about.

I saw the preview/commercial for the show and wrote it off until a marathon was aired and I happened to catch an episode and realized what I was missing. Great action is always nice but the world of the Badlands lures you in deeper and then the characters keep you coming back. No matter if it is the likeable Sunny, the feminist powerhouse The Widow, the mystery around Sunny's pupil M.K. or the true reason to watch the suave, debonair southern gentleman Baron Quinn. It is just one of the best shows I've seen on air.

Handsdown some of the best fights I've seen on tv or film. This series came at a perfect time for me as I had been CRAVING a martial arts tv show that had great choreography and cinematography with wideshots, NOT shaky cam and choppy editing where you can hardly tell what's going on. The visual style and colors look great in the series. I really liked all of the chatacters, but at first I wasn't sure if I liked the story all too much, but as the series went on I became a lot more intrigued. Can't wait for season 2!

This show is too good. The story is pretty well told but it's the action that keeps you glued. There is literally no other show on TV right now that has real deal Hollywood level choreography and fighting scenes like this show has every single episode. There's usually at least two longer fight sequences and the actors do a pretty amazing job with them. If you love John Woo or Jackie Chan style films then just get it over with and watch this show.

Hong Kong action star Daniel Wu produces and stars in this fantastic action series set in a Feudal, Post Apocalypse American South... Coherent and interesting plot, but it's the Film Quality fight set pieces that set this show apart from the pretenders.... Highly recommended!

If you are a fan of martial arts and swordplay, then this series was made for you. I am a huge fan of the premise of this world. No guns at all. I love the characters that fight using style and technique than just pulling a trigger. Action-packed with a great story. Hopefully we see more Barons in season 2, but this season was a great intro. Bring on more Badlands!!

The fight choreography in this show is incredibly well done. The world they have created is interesting and I'm excited to see what they do with it. The music goes perfectly with the feel of the show, and only gets you more pumped up during the dramatic moments.

I love this show!!! The fight scenes are so INTENSE!!! The acting is on point as well. I know usually on shows like this, the actors give a subpar delivery, but thats not the case with this show. They did their roles justice. Love it!!!

In the future, we have regressed. Not an entirely new idea, but give it a chance. So the barons run certain areas with armies and assassins as well as folks who farm etc. The head assassin and trusted adviser of the most powerful baron starts to have second thoughts but war is coming. Very good but unfortunately only 6 episodes.

The story is interesting. And still being worked out. But the martial arts is great, the choreography is outstanding, and the filming is quick and brutal. Until the story really gets going just enjoy the action.

First season is really short, but if you like this sort of thing, it's fun. Best Buy had this very cheap during Black Friday, and my guess is it will be on sale again, when the second season returns. Along with the fight sequences, one of the most impressive things is the video quality - which on blu-ray is amazing.

I'm Anxiously waiting for season 2. Into the Badlands is new and fresh but has that old school feel to it and I highly recommend every martial arts fan and others to watch & you will not be disappointed.
