Q: Does this model work from a cable box in one room to a tv in another room using hdmi cables ?
A: Thank you for choosing IOGEAR. The GW3DHDKIT is a wireless HDMI transmitter and receiver. Your cable box is connected to the transmitter of this kit. The transmitter will send a signal to the receiver at a remote location. The Receiver is connected to the TV with an HDMI cable. Once again, thank you for choosing IOGEAR.
A: did not work for me kept asking for password
A: No you cannot. The kit is a receiver. Your Swann would need to have an app loaded and broadcast.
Q: Can this be used to extend your desktop to the TV or does it mirror your display only?
A: Yes, you can extend your entire desktop to the TV, including task bar, start button, everything. When you are streamiing a movie etc., you can click on full screen and the entire TV screen is then filled with what you're streaming, but when you take the movie out of "full screen," you can again then see your entire desk top. Pretty nice device.
A: Does not require WiFi but you need to plug the fob in to USB port. All you have to do is Select function f8, search for wireless devices, then select Duocast 321. It takes a few seconds then you're projecting. You will need to download software if you want to take advantage of the secure feature...not necessary in my opinion.
Q: Can this be used to mirror my lap top to a computer screen without an HDMI cable?
A: IOGEAR says: Thank you for choosing IOGEAR . Yes the GWSSKIT can be used to Mirror your lap top wireless to a display. The receiver would still have to connect to your TV with an HDMI cable. The transmitter connected to the computer will send the signal wireless to the receiver. Once again thank you for choosing IOGEAR.
Q: Will this work from a ps4 to a tv?
A: It will not, unfortunately. The software on a PS4 lacks miracast, which is the standard that this device uses. Sony has a proprietary software that allows you to stream to phones and computers, but not TV's as of yet. Additionally, the latency is far too slow for any game that requires quick reaction times. Expect upwards of a full second delay between the broadcasting device and the TV.
A: Yes, there are 2 cables included One from the box to the HDMI port on the monitor or TV. The second is a power supply. Connection is simple but sufferes from intermittent screen lag. Overall I'm happy with it for the purpose intended - sharing my screen in team meetings.
