The adapter works ok. Okay, just ok. I am using this in a Thunderbolt 4 port in my laptop. NVIDIA RTX 2000 Mobile ADA Generation GPU. I have two 4K ACER Monitors connected to my laptop. One in a HDMI 2.1 port and the other in a Thunderbolt 4 port via the J5Create adapter. Both are going to the monitors via ultra high speed HDMI cables. Running both monitors @ 4K and 120hz RR. The straight HDMI connection is awesome. The connection going through the J5Create adapter has washed out blacks. I switched back and forth to rule out a cable issue. I will probable return. I'll think about possibly keeping it just for the breakout of the additional USB ports on the Tbolt 4 port. You can see the obvious deficiency in the monitor on the left in the picture. The adapter does get pretty warm but all adapters moving a lot of data do. One extremely good thing about J5Create is their support. You get to speak with a domestic rep pretty quickly and you can tell they are not reading screen prompts/answers, they actually know the products well. I am going to try another adapter made by Cable Matters. It has a higher ceiling in their specs for throughput. We'll see.

I have been using this for about a month now. This is on the best purchase I’ve made.

We were looking for something that would handle signal transfer for remote data controls for cameras in our space. This was able to interface with our main computer and split high-speed data (USB 3.1, USB4, Thunderbolt) as needed.

Use this for external monitor support on iPad Air and MacBook Air. Only complain is the cable is a bit stiffer than I would like. Overall no complaints with functionality. Buy without concern.

The device is built well, however it didnt support 1440p @165hz. I even tried using the passthrough for extra power. Its advertised as 4K @144hz, so 2K @165hz shouldnt be a problem. I ended up getting one from amazon for $10 that did the job. I still like having this dongle as it’s still useful for other tasks.

It was good product but it didnt fix my issue. Unfortunately my issue couldnt be resolved but it has nothing to do with the product.

This little adapter has it where it counts for handheld gaming. 1. 144hz 4k support. 2. 1 USB-C 3. 1 USB-A 4. 1 USB-C (Power Only) And that's it! It all works pretty reliably and is easy to throw in a bag or pocket.
