Read/Write SSD Directly

Adapter works perfectly, just attach one end to usb-c port and the other end to external SSD. The external SSD was recognized immediately by my laptop running Windows 10. It's just what I needed to salvage SSD on desktop computer that had crashed.

Works well to connect to drives and transfer data, but gets hotter and data transfer rate just drops.

Avoid; get a powered hard drive dock instead

Bought this on a lark thinking I could use it to get another SSD connected, turned out to be a mistake. The drive is only accessible for a few minutes before the adapter overheats.

Hi!
I'm sorry to hear you had this trouble with our device. It is only meant to transfer data and not power a hard drive, so we would recommend using your hard drives external power source in order to run the device and prevent overheating. I hope that you found a dock that works for you!
