About This Item

Vinyl LP pressing. James Taylor is the self-titled debut studio album by singer/songwriter James Taylor. Released on December 6, 1968, it was the first recording by a non-British artist released by Apple Records, and would also be Taylor's only on that tag. The album was produced by Peter Asher, who was A&R head for The Beatles' newly formed tag Apple Records. Taylor recorded the album from July to October 1968 at Trident Studios, at the same time as the Beatles were recording the White Album. Trident was the most technologically advanced studio in England at the time and was in high demand; some session time booked by The Beatles was used instead to record Taylor's album. Paul McCartney and Peter Asher brought in arranger Richard Hewson to add orchestrations to several of the songs and unusual InchlinkInch passages in between them. Notable songs include the Taylor classics InchSomething in the Way She MovesInch, InchCarolina in My MindInch and InchRainy Day ManInch. Album Tracks 1. Don't Talk Now 2. Something's Wrong 3. Knockin' Round the Zoo 4. Sunshine Sunshine 5. Taking It in 6. Something in the Way She Moves 1. Carolina in My Mind 2. Night Owl 3. Rainy Day Man 4. Circle 'Round the Sun 5. The Blues Is 6. Just a Bad Dream

Stevie Wonder - Innervisions - VINYL LP
5.0(4)

Ranked 23/500 on Rolling Stone Magazine's 500 Greatest Albums of All Time. The sixteenth album by American musician Stevie Wonder, released August 3, 1973 on Motown Records; a landmark recording of his Inchclassic periodInch. The nine tracks of Innervisions encompass a wide range of themes and issues from drug abuse in InchToo High, Inch through social anger in InchLiving for the City, Inch to love in the ballads InchAll in Love is FairInch and InchGolden Lady.InchAs with many of Stevie Wonder's albums the lyrics, composition and production are almost entirely his own work, with the ARP synthesizer used prominently throughout the album. This instrument was a common motif among musicians of the time because of it's ability to construct a complete sound environment. Wonder was the first black artist to experiment with this technology on a mass scale, and Innervisions was hugely influential on the subsequent future of commercial black music. He also played all or virtually all instruments on six of the album's nine tracks, making most of Innervisions a representative one-man band. Album Tracks 1. Too High 2. Visions 3. Living for the City 4. Golden Lady 5. Higher Ground 6. Jesus Children of America 7. All in Love Is Fair 8. Don't You Worry 'Bout a Thing 9. He's Misstra Know-It-All
