I got this CD because it reminds me of when I first saw her on TV. It was on the Ed Sullivan Show. I missed her introduction, but her singing was different from the other groups. I was in high school at the showing. When I was in my 20's, I heard her songs and understood what she was trying to convey through her singing. She was before the times and she left us to soon. It's a great CD with a lot of her biggest hits.

Janis was the HOTTEST female singer of the 60's. This is a great collection at a great price. Such a shame she burnt out so quickly. She puts 100% into every song.

Nice selection of Janis songs. Not a definitive collection but for eight bucks, you can't go wrong. A mix of studio and live recordings. I prefer a couple others recordings of ball and chain but the one here is good too.
