Purchased this radio for my 79 year old mother, she always talked about always having a transistor radio when she was a little girl. When she opened the gift you could see her expression of disbelief as it closely resembled the one she had while growing up. This is very lite weight when with the batteries in it, the sound quality is superb. With a cord and battery option she can take this radio with her everywhere whether sitting in the house, it being outside during the summer months. Great item with a great price
