Jeremy Tuplin's TV-inspired third album comes with stunning 60's themed photography and typography with lyrics have been included on the record insert. Previous record 'The Pink Mirror', a satirical look at our failure to remove the rose-tinted spectacles when observing the world around us, might have been an entirely solo affair, yet 'Violet Waves' finds Tuplin entwining his band, the Ultimate Power Assembly, in his cosmic spiral. Exclusively recorded with the band who joined Tuplin on sojourns through Germany, Italy and two UK headline tours last year, their unfailing presence results in a more brash, bombastic output, espousing the electrifying drama of Scott Walker. Tuplin has always existed within touching distance of a wink of the eye, a tongue in the cheek, and even with the cataclysmic nature of the subjects on display here, Tuplin still manages to not take life too seriously. 'Killer Killer' is a feel-good depiction ofBack From The Dead, Break Your Heart Again, Space Magic, Killer Killer, The Inuit, Swimming, Cool Design, The Idiot, Sally's In A Coma, She Speaks To Me, Violets Are Blue, When I Die etc. Album Tracks 1. Welcome to Orville's Discotheque a synth-drenched concept album brought to you by indie singer-songwriter from Somerset. Set in a world slightly left of reality, the record tells the story of a flawed disco-enthused antihero and his romantic travails. The album charts the stumble and fall of a self-obsessed dancing antihero and his romantic travails. The single sets the scene of the first time the album's protagonist, Orville, sees his new romantic interest, Eugenie, whilst performing in a disco club night; fascinated by her dance moves that include Inchhula hoop hipsInch, Inchloose helicopter armsInch, and whatever else. The lyricism blends self-deprecating humour with poetry, whilst the sound marks another step in the continued evolution of Tuplin's musical vision, incorporating his lyrical songwriting and intricate storytelling within a loosely defined genre of Inchindie discoInch - or even Inchdark discoInch and Inchdevilish discoInch that he references in the song itself. Orville's Discotheque is his fourth album, following his independently released debut I Dreamt I Was An Astronaut in 2017, Pink Mirror (2019), and Violet Waves (2020) both on Trapped Animal Records. Wolastoqiyik Lintuwakonawa is the debut album by Canadian composer and tenor, Jeremy Dutcher - which involves post-classical rearrangementof his Wolastoq First Nation traditional music. Granted access to the Canadian Museum of History, Jeremy discovered wax cylinders from 1907of his ancestors singing forgotten songs and stories that had been taken from the Wolastoqiyik Nation generations ago. The album is Jeremy's contribution to his heritage and community in attempts to revitalize the Wolastoq language to the world, which has less than 100 speakers from birth alive today. This collection of ground breaking post-classical arrangements is truly one of a kind and recalls the mood of Rufus Wainwright's operatic performance or the haunting pop ofAnthony & The Johnsons.1.
