Fabulous performance by Lawrence and as a father with a daughter and a grandaughter, it made me feel great to witness this wonderful woman's hard earned success against such overwhelming odds.

Bought this on sale for $5.00, gave it as gift, they seemed to like it. I think it was well worth the price.

Those expecting another Silver Linings Playbook (Director David O. Russell reunited with Jennifer Lawrence, Bradley Cooper, and Robert DeNiro) will be sorely disappointed. The primary problem with the movie is Lawrence is way too young to play the titular role. Although it's better than most films out there, Russell was unable to capture lightning in a bottle twice.

I wasn't expecting much from this movie, especially in the first few minutes. Turns out it was an excellent movie and Jennifer Lawrence was great.

I love these movies about people overcoming obstacles to achieve success. This woman dealt with a lot as well as some strange issues at home. Better still this is a story about a real person!

The American Dream is still alive in David O Russell's latest film "Joy". A hilarious and poignant look at the American entrepreneurial spirit, through the lens of family dysfunction. Yes that sounds like an odd mix of themes, but it works. It shows the challenges, risks, pitfalls, and fortunes to be found in free-market enterprise when intelligent Americans apply their ingenuity. Very well acted by a great cast, with a funny script, this movie is a joy to watch. Pun intended.

I was very hesitant about watching Joy. Let's face it; it's about the woman who invented the miracle mop, and that premise alone sounds boring! Unexpectedly, to my surprise it was a wonderful movie of substance with witty dialogue and entrancing character development. Director, David O. Russell has found his sweet spot with Such films as "Silverlinings Playbook", "The Fighter", "American Hustle", and now "Joy". Jennifer Lawerence is superb as well as the rest of the cast. A must see film!

As the movie starts, it lays the foundation of the situation of the main character. I was thinking this was typical single mom being over-burden with life's challenges. Once she determines to overcome all her challenges, this is where it gets good. From her determination to make a better life for herself and tough decisions involved, I enjoyed it quite a bit. FYI, I can say my mom owns one of the mops depicted from the story as she purchases quite a bit from QVC.

Thanks to a typically strong performance by Jennifer Lawrence and spot on period detail, "Joy" rises above most chick flicks though pairing her with Bradley Cooper for the upteenth time is getting a bit tedious. The movie covers four generations in two hours but its well paced. Add in some very pithy dialogue and the end result is a very smart piece of story telling. The film wraps up very nicely.

I didn't originally plan on seeing this movie let alone purchasing a copy. Once again this is when have to watch a movie before judging it by its cover. Jennifer Lawrence is amazing in this film. You have your eyes on her at all times. The plot is great and slightly based on a true story. As the film goes there's a new dilemma after another. Emotional and fun it's a must watch and own.

I purchased "Joy [Includes Digital Copy] [Blu-ray]" not really knowing what the story was really about. At first, it was slow going and seemed a bit depressing, but as the story moved along, I had a different impression. The story is about believing in yourself, which is what everyone needs to hear, more and more. This movie should be watched by young people who are just getting started in life.
