Nice Stereo for the price, but occasional glitch

Nice radio but the instructions are a bit lacking. The included harness involved a bit of guesswork as there were two possibilities for plugging into the car. Happily, I guessed correctly so it was pretty much plug and play. Haven’t hooked up the rear view camera as those details are pretty ambiguous as well. I like that the replacement each looks almost factory . You will, however , need to remove and reuse your plastic retainer clips from your old dash. I used a pick and was able to carefully remove them without damaging them. As far as operating, think of it as an android tablet with an AM/FM tuner. It CarPlay, and Android Auto work with the zook(I think that’s the app) interface. That’s the primary reason I bought it. It does occasionally glitch out. The radio would just stop playing. The interfaces for CarPlay wouldn’t work. That’s happened a couple times now. Fortunately, simply shutting the unit off and then on again solved these issues.

Questions & Answers

  • Can I download apps like Netflix? Thank you

It’s basically an android tablet so yes.

    Answered by SHAWND

  • I am interested in this item for a 2011 Subaru Forester. However, I noticed it does not seem to have a backup camera included. Is it possible to add in a backup camera which is activated when in reverse?

Yes, though the instructions aren’t very clear. You may have to play with the wiring a bit if it doesn’t work the first time.
