JVC Fitness True Wireless In-Ear Bluetooth Headphones feature an integrated flexible hook that you can modify to conform to your ears. This is an earbud that will not fall or shake off during the most intense workout. These earbuds feature active noise cancellation & ambient awareness, a great safety feature; you can enjoy tunes without blocking out the environment, such as cars, and other potentially dangerous hazards in your path. Certified IP57, these earbuds are safe from dust and water immersion. You can exercise in the rain & can even shower with them! The claimed battery life is 11 hours on the earbuds & an additional 29 hours with the charging case. I wore them for 8 hours over 2 days and they were still going strong. Sound quality is reasonable for the price. However, they play at a lower volume than most other earbuds I have tested. There is no app support, so customizing options are limited. CONCLUSION: JVC Fitness True Wireless In-Ear Bluetooth Headphones are ideal for working out because they stay put & will withstand sweat & rain. However, their low sound volume & lack of an app to set parameters will limit their appeal for certain applications. They are value priced & will make a great addition to your workout.

Highlights: * Stable fit with integrated flexible ear hooks * Compact case * Good ANC with transparency mode * Good sound * Long battery life - up to 40 hrs with case (32 hrs with ANC) * IP57 rating for dust and water * No app Considerations: * No app * No Getting Started guide - just a large folding user manual * Some touch commands are cumbersome like volume * Ear hooks must be bent a specific way to fit back in case These TWS earbuds have built-in ear hooks that firmly keep them in place during the most vigorous activities. They sound pretty good and even have adequate active noise cancellation and transparency modes. Unlike the trend of having a companion app to change settings and update the firmware, these buds are refreshingly simple. Basically, you charge them up, pop them in and use them…. That’s it. No app, no settings, no firmware updates. The flip side of this is that the touchpad on each bud has to do a lot of heavy lifting. There are distinct actions on each bud with a tap, double tap, triple tap, quadruple tap and long press when playing music and then separate stuff for when in a call. Fortunately, there’s a friendly voice and audio feedback while doing these touch commands. Again, unlike many others, there is no quick setup guide and without an app, you have to rely on the large folding printed user’s manual with small text to find the details of how to use them. I really think a simple Getting Starting guide with the basics would have been a lot easier for me. Raising the volume, for example, needs a triple tap of the left bud for each incremental increase, or a double tap for an incremental decrease. So if you want to raise the volume by 3 steps, that 3 triple-taps (9 taps!). I also thinks it’s a bit confusing that the near-standard method of a single tap for play/pause, double for “next” and triple for ‘previous” all isn’t done on the same earbud… the play/pause single tap is on the left bud while the double and triple taps for next/previous are on the right earbud. The case is relatively compact and between the case and the buds, these supposedly will play for up to 40 hours (32 with ANC) between charges of the case. While the flexible ear hooks bend and adjust to fit your ear for comfort and security, they need to be a specific shape to fit back in the case. This might make them a bit annoying to get back in the case for charging. The lids stays firmly closed magnetically so at least they won’t pop out when you toss the case in a gym bag, purse or pocket. The sound is actually quite good. I wouldn’t go so far as to call them audiophile buds, but they sound better than I expected for their price. The ANC won’t shield you much from jet engines but should be more than good enough to handle a quick subway ride, a workout at the gym or a day at a noisy office. Again, these aren’t intended to be high-end buds and for their price, they really do a lot well. A simple quick start guide would have helped since there’s no app, but otherwise they are a great value for the price.

These are decent in-ear headphones for the price tag. The design and the build is good and functional. They stay in place during the workout sessions as advertised. There are multiple touch controls that allow to operate them during the workout without the need to go back to the phone. All these controls are good and functional except for the volume up function. You need to tap the left ear bud three times in quick succession to increase the volume by one notch. This one gives me the hardest time as I usually end up reducing the volume (double tap). The sound quality is decent (I am no audiophile). There are two modes: ambient and noise canceling. The noise cancellation is so-so. There are three sound modes: Bass, Clear and Flat. One surprising thing is that there is no mobile app. So, on the positive side, you can control everything without the need of taking out the phone. But on the flip side, there is not much customization that you can do. The charging case is small and compact. You need to be careful while putting the earphones in the case otherwise these won't charge. Thankfully there is a charging indicator on them. So, whenever I put them in the case for charging, I make sure that the indicator is on. Overall, I think these are decent headphones for the price tag. JVC should probably try to make often use functions like volume up and down, song track reverse and forward easier. Also, the efforts required to put them in the charging case, made me take one star out.
