The speakers sound amazing paired with a marantz amplifier. I think they sound best in the mid bass while falling a bit short on the lower end. Better suited for more acoustic music rather than bass heavy music.

Paired with Yamaha Aventage 1080, Q650 center channel, they are excellent speakers. Excellent clarity, almost full range (I like lots of bass so still running a subwoofer, but you could easily skip the sub) Surprised there aren't more reviews The black is almost matte finish metallic grain, very nice look. I wanted the walnut but we already have several different wood grains they would not have looked right. Very manly with grilles off, low key with them on for reference, photos next to 82" Samsung, they are big

I have always been interested in the KEF line specifically for the Uni-Q design. I have had a little over 200 hours listening time with the Q950 floorstands and I must say that I am very happy with my purchase. The price cannot be beat when comparing sound, look and quality. I had a audiophile friend come over for a listen and we both agreed that the KEF Q950s reminded us of a Paradigm bottom end for low frequency and a diamond series B&W tweeter mixed into a beautiful floorstands. I love the walnut finish but I do wish that the magnetic grille came with the speaker. I have these floorstands running off of a Marantz AV7702 for processing and a Outlaw audio amplifier. If you like a strong mid bass speaker and a tight low end bass then I would not hesitate to pull the trigger on the KEF Q950s

Nice towers. The look great! However, I think the wood veneer could be better, especially in the corners, but unless looking super close, they are great looking! The sound good too. I wish 3 of the 8 inch drivers were powered instead of just 2. If so, then maybe I might not use subwoofers with them. But then again, I was planning too anyway. The mids (voices) are wonderful!

Decent speaker, can be pushed loud. The glue used to glue the foam on the drivers can be easy to notice at some angles from the uneveness applied

Amazing sound, able to hear every detail of the music, bass is rich and the play back from CD'S, streaming, or turntable is pure.

First time ever owning KEF speakers and I was blown away. The sound stage is huge and spread evenly out throughout the room so you don't get stuck with just a single sweet spot in the middle of the pair. The clarity and depth of sound is truly remarkable. These were the ideal speakers to bring my prized vinyl collection to the next level. Highly recommended

My wife said I had to choose between these speakers and our marriage, but the Q950s are so loud that now she can hear them from her mother's house in Palm Desert! 5-Stars.

I ended up with the walnut version of these. I am very pleased with the look, however, veneer wood finish is particularly convincing. But somehow it works and they look great so long as you aren't looking super close. Sound... I replaced my SVS Pinnacle towers with these. SVS seemed to have better build quality and definitely bass. However, the KEF's have superior mids and trebles in my opinion. The voicing sounds spectacular. Even for 2 channel listening, I still add subwoofers (SVS SB300s) to give music that low end punch I love. I wish all three 8 inch drivers were powered. Instead 2 are passive.

Excellent Sound and Quality! Good looking enhancement to my stereo system in my Man Cave. Nice Rich Clear Sound. Sound disperses well -- even when off to the side. Waited almost 2 years for them to go on sale for a nice price drop. So glad I purchased them.

Surprised.....never paid attention to KEF. I have B&W and Def Tech in this price range. I happened to demo a pair of 550’s. I really liked the soundstage. I picked up 950’s. More I listen the more I like sound. I will be selling m other speakers. Great purchase I highly recommend.

Upgraded to KEF Q950 speakers after reading reviews.BestBuy had a pair in stock to listen to and that greatly helped me to make my decision.

Loving these KEFs so far. I've had them about a month, so I don't believe they are entirely broken in yet, What really surprised me was how good the walnut finish is. I'm glad I went with this color

They're a very good soundung speaker for the price. I bought these as upgrades to an older pair i had in the house.
