Just got them. Still need to burn them in. Out of the box they sound pretty good. After 2 days much better. I would say these are entry level audiophile perfect for my Marantz 40n . I have these in a 22x14 room partially carpeted and they fill the room beautifully. I’m using SVS micro 3000 but they sound great in a 2 channel set up. They excel in high end to mid range the bass is accurate but I like a little more bottom on my live music. As far as vocals, horns, cymbals 7 keys acoustically beautiful can’t be beat at this price point and probably up to 5 k these can compete sonically. As far as looks go they are a work of art. I mean beautiful. My wife who notices nothing when it come to equipment of any kind even remarked that they were nice enough to go in any room in the house, she wished all my gear was this nice, I agree, KEF got this 100% right. Over all in this price point I think they kick butt. Better than the B&W 700 books.

Some of the best bookshelf speakers I've heard. They are transparent, have a great sound stage and very clean sound. I'm currently running them on a Yamaha AS2100 and they sound great. No harshness, just buttery smooth sound with tight and dynamic bass. If you're using them for home theatre use, a sub would be recommended but for music you can run them as is unless you are a bass head. These are truly a special speaker. KEF has really outdone themselves on their meta line.

I paired it with an Arcam A25+ and an RSL 10s sub, hard to believe you could get a better sound for the money! Took a lot of tweaking (placement, EQ settings on the Wiim streamer and of course took it another level with the sub. This is my stereo system only, no TV for this set up. Can't say I dislike anything about the speakers, I'll always own KEF speakers, tried a few others and they don't compare

These speakers are very detailed. Border on harsh but that could be my room. Haven't done any correction yet. Bass is surprisingly robust for such a small speaker. If you compare the Q Concerto Meta to these - the bass is the main differentiator and what, for me, justified the additional cost.

[Employee of bestbuy] I love these speakers! The walnut veneer is quite gorgeous and has some chatoyance to it. Before I got these speakers, my favorite place to listen to music was in my car, but now, it's in my living room. These have great clarity and a full sound. I hear details I've never heard before when listening to music. I have them as my front L+R in my 5.1 system, with a Pioneer Elite receiver. For home theater they are great, but they really shine with music in my opinion

Absolutely love my KEF R3 Meta in walnut – the finish is gorgeous and oozes premium quality. The sound is incredibly detailed and balanced, with vocals and instruments sounding lifelike. Bass is tight and clean, though I paired it with a sub for a fuller low-end. Build quality is top-notch – these feel like they’ll last forever. Totally worth the investment – they transformed my listening experience.

Simply a great pair of speakers. A/B'd with the Concerto and this was more dynamic and far more treble forward. The concertos were good, but sounded more veiled and too laid back. The bass on these things surprised me. The R3s dig very low and with authority, too. Fully intended on pairing with another sub, but I have been enjoying them a lot without one.

These speakers sound amazing. Using them nearfield at my desk and the clarity and vocal separation is so nice. I have hd800 headphone from Sennheiser for comparison and listening to these speakers gives a very nice sound stage and lived up to the hype. I paired them with a TOPPING D70 Pro SABRE DAC and TOPPING LA90 Discrete NFCA Power Amplifier.

KEF hasn’t failed me yet. Such beautiful looking and sounding speakers. They sound great with my Sony STR AZ5000ES, and I totally recommend. They simply disappear leaving you with a room filled with music. The agility of these speakers are amazing, and although they do sound great alone, I do recommend a subwoofer if you want to feel a little bit more bass and give these speakers more room to perform at the top end. I currently have them paired with a KC62 and they simply sound GREAT!

Clean and crisp with nice base. Very well made with fixed bi-wiring terminals (Not using them bi-wired, not needed). No fatigue listening to these. Love them!

My opinion is that Kef is currently one of the best speakers in their price position. For an even better experience with them attach them to their stands and you'd be hard pressed to find any better unless spending thousands more.

Best speakers I've ever owned. Period. I purchased a pair of Concerto Metas previously but I really I really wanted these, exceptional open box purchase so I saved quite a bit. I have them powered by my trusty Rotel A12 in a two channel stereo setup. Loving what I'm hearing.

Great speakers even for a large room. Paired with Marantz 40n Amplifier. Like listening in 3D.

Best Buy gave me the runaround on this one. First the product showed shipping. After I entered particulars to complete the purchase, website said shipping was not available. Drove close to 100 miles to pick up the KEF 3 Meta. As others have said, the description of refurbished products is unreliable. Marked excellent when I bought it, it was without a box or accessories, even a missing grille(!) and dinged up. Buyer beware! My recommendation to not buy is only for open-box speakers from BB.
