OK. I simply am not an audiophile, just a guy who tried to buy good and lasting stuff under the 2-year no interest financing available. Got the R3 Metas, which are amazing, and knew I would need mounting, so decided to splurge on these. Awesome decision if I do say so myself! First off, there is an attempt to be...architectural? The art deco-esque striations in the front look classy, not overwrought, and in the little feet make the base kind of "hover" above our tile - neato. Additionally, and this is really kind of hard to see in the pics, the *color* is a match, but not the *finish*. The speakers are an unbelievable glossy Indigo like fine furniture; these are matte. In point of fact, I was kind of getting worked up, watching the Geek Squad guy assemble them (this was a whole TV/7.2.4 install), seeing from my vantage that they were clearly *different* than the speakers. Turns out in no shocker that the KEF Design Department are a lot smarter than I am and it not only looks fantastic but probably keeps them in the game if they switch the finish on the R3's to a matte resembling that on the lovely LS50 Metas. The main functional part is also perfect, as they present the Uni-Q driver in the speaker at perfect listening height when seated. The centers are hollow, so later on if I am industrious I *might* fill them with sand for further stability. So while not inexpensive, I would consider these a must buy. I hope all this helps.
