This was a really good game it really surprised me how good this game was sad it came out the same time as Skyrim it was definitely over shadowed but it’s fun nonetheless a hidden gem

Kingdoms of Amular is an interesting relic. The action combat plays smooth and is surprisingly fun and easy to grasp. The world has a dated yet mysterious feel to it. The game world and setting and graphics feels reminiscent of the elder scrolls Oblivion, though I’d argue that the NPC’s and side quests don’t feel nearly as interesting or complex. This is in large part due to the game originally being an MMO conceptually and then later crafted into a single player offline game entirely. Despite that, Re-Reckoning runs smooth on the Switch. It plays perfectly fine in handheld mode — which is how I’ve been playing it. If you’ve played games like Skyrim or Dragon’s Dogma on your Switch, you’ll know what to largely expect from Kingdoms of Amular. It’s that kind of open world action RPG in many respects. Just... a bit more lifeless and barren than Skyrim. I’d probably compare it most to Dragon’s Dogma with the interesting open world and fun action RPG gameplay. I’m not far into it, admittedly, but having played some of the original PS3 version, it’s very nice to have this title in the most convenient modern way to play imaginable (the Switch). The bonus here is that it’s all on the cartridge! Every bit of it. Including all the DLC. No downloads required. I can’t stress enough how awesome that is for a physical game collector like myself.

So far I haven’t encountered any performance issues and the graphics don’t even look any worse than my pc version. This might be the best port from THQ Nordic on Switch. I will revise my review if I run into any issues later. Excellent arpg though on any platform.

One of my all-time favorite games to date! I have this game on XB1, PS4, PC, 360 and now NSW. Switch port has some framerate hiccups every so often, but it's a fantastic hack n slash action/adventure RPG. It's like Skyrim, but better melee combat. Downside, no mount. Upside, you run like a deer without stamina issues. For the most part, it runs surprisingly well and it's a looker too. It definitely shows age in some decision choices, but it's a fantastic game. So much freedom, a true power fantasy. I 100% recommend this game for anyone who likes fantasy real-time combat RPGs. Similar open world genre of games such as Witcher, Skyrim, Dragon's Dogma, Breath of the Wild, etc.

I was worried the game would feel dated because of the original release date, but I had a fun time when playing. There is so much content, if you want a game you can spend time in, this may be for you. I'm not a linear point A to point B type of player, so I really liked that there were so many side quests I could choose to do. Even though I occasionally found myself lost, it never got frustrating. If you have a chance, I recommend you try this great game.

If you enjoy games like Skyrim and The Witcher, then this open-world RPG is worth sinking your precious time into. Though the games has a bottomless amount of quests to complete (over a hundred quests spanning five main storylines—this edition provides the definitive experience including all downloadable content in one cartridge), the main story itself can be rather obtuse and feels surprisingly thin considering its large scope. That said, your enjoyment of the game will depend on how much you're willing to immerse yourself into its deep fantasy lore.

Loved this game in 2012 and Re-Reckoning is worth the price to play through again or for someone who hasn't played it before. Plays great on the Switch and perfect for long trips away from home.

It is a nice remake. It runs well on the switch. The added portability of the game on this system gives it an advantage over the game on other platforms.

Very Skyrim-y. Was only have into that type of game play. Easy to get side tracks with the million side quests /tasks. Story is-meh. Fighting is okay, nothing crazy cool. I hate how all the characters in the game talk but yours... don’t know why it’s so annoying to me, but it is. Okay for killing time... but not something you’ll likely get super addicted to and be eager to get back to.

Not without it's flaws! In fact there are several game-crashing bugs present for a number of quests that I have already encountered with about 70 hours of gameplay put in. Very fun still if you are patient enough or willing to work around it with previous saves. *SAVE STRATEGICALLY* and only consider rewriting those saves once you complete any given questline. If you enjoy games like KOTOR, TES series or WoW, this has something for you.

After playing for a little bit I have determined that this game is right up my alley. It’s a great port for the switch and it’s kinda cool you can tell it’s from the 360 era. Not too complicated, but just the right amount of RPG.

All though I haven't played every rpg on the switch, I'm willing to bet this is probably one of the best. Great combat, what seems to be endless hrs of gameplay and engaging story will most likely scratch your rpg itch

This game is the true meaning of term hidden gem. Playing it today you can tell it’s a dated game but the gameplay still holds up amazingly well today. It’s just fun to play.

Fantastic fantasy RPG game for the switch! Great story, combat, graphics and game soundtrack. Reminds me of a cross between god of war and elder scrolls IV: Oblivion. Great game!

I have fond memories of this game on ps3. This was only purchased to add to my collection of switch games. The writing and creativity involed in this game is first class. The combat holds up surprisingly well today.

This is an awesome game; although, I’m not sure I should’ve bought it… My wife has been on it for months and won’t put it down! LOL
