This was bought for my son to use on his 2DS but of course I had to have a go of it, too, just to try it! The main character Kirby appears in several other titles but I steered my son towards this specific game as it had so many positive reviews and is supposed to be one of the best 2/3DS games. It is a platform game, played horizontally across the screen left to right but instead of a sword, or gun or just jumping as your tools/weapons you have yarn/wool to unravel and sort of flick to get you where you want to go or indeed to unravel your enemies. There are numerous power-ups ( a woollen tank) to gain as you go along most of which we have no doubt not yet seen as we haven't fully completed the game. I think the graphics are great as well as the music (in little interludes) and it has so many clever touches that it is verging on being genius really. It oozes charm and a certain British humour that other platform games don't always have though admittedly that won't be for everyone's taste. It is though very, very playable and very beginner (my level) friendly, and it seems that you never really die or get set back that much, which for me makes it a lot less frustrating than some other titles. Everything in the world in which the game is set is sort of fabric-based if that make sense? Like a miniature world composed of the contents of a haberdashery's spares bin. This means that when Kirby goes behind certain game elements, i.e. to get inside somewhere, you see the fabric bulging where he makes progress. He unzips material to open up areas and there are literally hundreds of other fabric-based clever little tricks and touches that show the enormous effort the game designers put into creating this game and the setting. I can only imagine that as well as programming masters they are fans of Sewing B. I'm no hardcore gamer and I generally have a limited attention span for games but this game appeals to me. My son loves it, too, and we both always look forward to playing it. I would say that it is a top quality game and a game that is genuinely suitable and interesting for all ages. It certainly deserves its reputation as one of the best 2/3DS games overall (from what I have played) and I can thoroughly recommend it.

This is hands down one of the best platform games on the Wii, and now it is on the 3DS. The graphics, gameplay, and music is great. The only bad things are you can't play two players like the original on Wii and their is no 3D support for 3DS, so this is just 2D.

This is a remaster of the original Wii title. Fun gameplay, fun mechanics, great level design, etc. Fun extras that weren’t on the original game. Nice to have this as an on the go gaming experience. Only problem is that it’s only playable in 2D, not 3D. Doesn’t ruin the experience but when it’s a game remastered for the 3DS, you’d think Nintendo would make it playable in 3D! Other than that this is a must play for any platform enthusiast or Kirby fan alike!!

Kirby epic yarn is a great game and I love being able to play it on the go. Classic Kirby action and even though it is a remake, having it now portable makes the pick up and play even better.

You’ll really enjoy this game if you liked the original. It’s been a while since I played the one on Wii, but it feels like they added quite a bit of content. If you haven’t played it, know that it is very easy. However, the fun comes in collecting and the simple charm of the visuals and music. It’s a nice addition to your 3DS library!

Wii game ported over to the 3DS but still shows the dedication of its developers to bring this back for any Kirby fan. The art style is fantastic and is a joy to play. Would easily recommend to any fan of the series!

Super fun. I like it as much as my kids. Hands down the best version of the game. Standard controls make it far superior to the stylus control of the WiiU version.

6 year old son and I both love it! Easy enough for the kids but has a more challenging mode for the older players.

Kirby games are known for quality gameplay and this is no exception. They tend to be much simpler games, as this one is, but that makes this a feat game for a younger kid.

If you played the Wii version then you know epic yarn is a great game. The ability to play mobile on the 3ds is almost just as good.

I’m so proud that Nintendo remastered this game. If I had gotten this game on the original Wii brand new it would’ve costed me over a hundred bucks on Amazon. But now I have it remastered on my 3DS and can play it over and over again. Thanks Nintendo!

This was a great, fun game on the Wii, made a little better for the 3DS. Good graphics. Kirby looks awesome in 3D. A definite must have for this now obsolete game system.
