I had no choice, because this is the only model of shortened dishwasher offered by Best Buy. The previous model had two shelves and was completely adequate for the needs of our family. Unfortunately, Kitchen Aid added the third shelf. As a result, many large dishes and most cookingware now does not fit. The third shelf is useless - only some small cups and glasses can be fit. And the utncils tray is nugatory, because it simply duplicates ths tray on the first shelf. So now I need to use my dishwasher twice more often and need to wash my pans by hand. So much added waste of water and elictricity. Another big problem is the absense of an operation manual. The one supplied with dishwasher contains installation and maintenance instructions There is no explanation of the control panel. Some special signs (like snowflakes and double-arrow S) are complete mistery. I still have no clue what is the difference between one and three beeps. For two months, I am trying to get the manual. After my first contacting the customer service in the end of June, they provided me with the link to and the PDF file of the same manual. I contacted them for the second time, explained the problem. No response. I contacted them again, asked at list to provide me with a manual for any dishwasher with similar control panel - still to no avail. It is August now. I am still waiting. If you can, avoid this dishwasher. And avoid Kitchen Aid with their useless unfriendly customer service.

I went from an old KitchenAid to a top of the line Samsung Bespoke and back to the top of the line KitchenAid. Old KitchenAid was great, always worked, but just lost some metal pieces in the basket. Samsung was a complete garbage.. that's enough said. BUT the new KitchenAid is a class by itself, the dishes are so clean, lot more space to load the dishes, its amazing how much more you can throw into this dishwasher The choice was bet. Bosch and KitchenAid. I wanted the auto door release, and this is the first KitchenAid that has it... and more. I also like the time left projection on the floor.. I thought it might be gimicky, but it is very helpful, since there is no other way to know how much time left. The drying is amazing, even plastic containers come out dry (not 100%, but 80% dry) The basket is very well made, better than the last 2. KitchenAid has been in dishwasher biz for a long time now and it is just as good as a Bosch. I am glad I got this one, and I highly recommend it to everyone. The only downside to it is, there is a long wait time (took me a month to get it), hopefully kitchenaid will correct this.
