Perfect unit installation was easy and the airflow is perfect

The way filters were installed when manufactures caused the corner of one to stick out far beyond the face of the downdraft. The sharp metal corner caught the edge of the glass cooktop on the way up and shattered the glass. Installation was correct with the right spacing. Now I have a downdraft that is useless and a cooktop that needs a $1000 part from a different manufacturer. Lesson is raise the down draft before you install your cooktop to see if it is defective.

Noisy, but works good. The ones that vent outside are much better. But I did not have that choice.

This vent system was replacement for a unit that had not worked correctly for several years. This unit is working perfectly thus far for first month since installed. It mates well with our new KitchenAid cooktop. This unit telescopes much higher than our previous unit and ventilates much better. The variable speed fan is convenient for conversing across the cooking island.

Bought this vent to replace the broken one in our new home. We knew we’d have to make some modifications to fit it in bc the older one was really old and much smaller than models available today. However, it’s been sitting in our island for 3 months and we haven’t been able to complete the installation bc every aspect of installing it has lead to more and more problems. Part of the issue is us being stubborn and wanting to do it ourselves and the other part is how ridiculously vague the installation instructions are!! It doesnt come with all the parts needed to install which is fine but it also doesn’t give you clear direction on what extra parts are needed. It’s been a real frustrating process and we’re about ready to throw in the towel and hire someone to take over for us.

This exhaust fan really "sucks"! It is very powerful. When installing this unit, make sure you have good ventilation. I had to add vents below the cabinet in order for the vent to go full force. Before I did that, it would pull in the gas flames, it was so strong. When it raises from the counter, everyone stares in awe. It quietly rises and turns on. And then when you're done, it just disappears. When we cook for parties, all our guests just gush over it.

Glides up & down smoothly. Large surface area for the vent openings. Absorbs cooking odors well so far. Fairly quiet motor. The on/off button was scratched on arrival so I'm still waiting for replacement

Quieter than last, looks nice, not a ton of options with the telescopic vent fans but so nice and compact

I really love this Kitchenaid telescopic downdraft. It works really well and hides away when you’re not using it.

Wanted to upgrade our downdraft system when we bought a new gas cooktop. There weren’t a lot of options out there. The BB customer service rep recommended this model and we’ve been happy with both the performance and the noise level (not too loud). Really like that it has multiple settings, which allows you to match the fan speed to what you’re cooking (steam level).

needs to be greased sometimes on the right or left side so it doesn't make sounds when it goes up or down. Other than that, it's amazing. sleek design and strong.

Even though paid for professional installation. I am not happy with the installation. As the downdraft is not properly and making whizzing sounds.

Wish it fit but it didnt. This is going to be a return for us. The bottom fan/vent description does not describe actual size.

This down draft is very cheaply made. The button sticks and the unit constantly goes up and down. It was very expensive and then needed a more time consuming installation which added even more to the cost.
