Unfortunately, this unit started leaking just a few hours after installation. At first it seemed like the water filter was loose, but the installer checked all water lines and the filter, and the leak wasn’t coming from either. Also, the top drawer (set to produce temps) is freezing drinks, even with the bottom set to freezer mode. I’m currently waiting for a replacement and for a Best Buy rep to follow up. Hoping the next one works as expected.

Compared with the wine cellar we had, which stopped cooling, the KitchenAid is much nicer. We particularly like the slide-out shelves which work on rollers. In the previous wine cellar the wood shelves simply rode on wood, and were not at all smooth. The KitchenAid shelves work smoothly and do not need to be pulled out or closed from the center of the shelf. Also, wine bottles need not be distributed or balanced across a shelf for the shelf to work smoothly. The only complaint is that I would prefer a wider range of temperatures especially for the top shelves of the dual-zone system. The KitchenAid is worth the higher price.

The unit looks great. It also works well. I don’t know about long term reliability yet since I just got it
