I’ve been extremely impressed with the Klipsch New York. The sound quality is outstanding, especially for movie scores and orchestral music. It delivers powerful bass, crisp highs, and excellent clarity even at higher volumes. The speaker is large and definitely has some weight to it, but the built-in wheels and handles make it much easier to move around than you’d expect. The only issue I ran into was the initial Bluetooth setup. It wasn’t immediately obvious that your phone and the Klipsch Connect Plus app both play a role in the pairing process. There were times when the app showed the speaker as connected—I could adjust the volume and trigger sound effects—but no music or phone audio would play, and the Bluetooth light on the speaker continued flashing. What worked for me was holding the Bluetooth button on the speaker for about five seconds until it plays a tone. That puts the speaker into pairing mode. Then connect to it through your phone’s Bluetooth settings first, and after that open the Klipsch app and connect there. Once I did that, everything worked perfectly. The good news is that this is really only an issue during the initial pairing or when connecting a new device. Once your phone has been paired, reconnecting is quick and painless. Overall, I absolutely love this speaker. The sound, build quality, and portability are excellent, and after getting past the initial Bluetooth learning curve, it’s been a fantastic experience. Highly recommended.

Being a lifelong musician has been both a blessing and a curse. I have personally had the pleasure of not only playing music for most of my life, but also listening to music with a critical ear. I have owned and progressed through decades of innovative speakers and devices that somehow continually raise the bar in each of their respective fields. From bluetooth party speakers, to studio monitors, headphones, guitar speakers, PA speakers, sound bars, and even the tiny speakers in your favorite laptop, music and sound need a way to get to your ears with volume and clarity. In the past, I have relied on simple smaller bluetooth speakers for parties, get-togethers, and family functions. While those can get the job done in some scenarios, having the extra modern features of a large bluetooth party speaker can send a simple gathering of friends, into a full scale dance party. Enter the new Klipsch New York bluetooth party speaker. Where both sound and size are front and center. **** SOUND QUALITY **** To my ears, the Klipsch New York is tuned to be exactly as intended. Being that the New York is the largest speaker in this series, you can expect a fuller sound and more volume by default. Housed inside the rugged build (more on this later) are two 8 inch woofers and a separate tweeter in-between the woofers. Both the speakers and the tweeter are surrounded by lighting presets that can cycle colors, and of course, pulse with the music. The Klipsch logo on the sides are also lit up and look great. The lighting can also be turned off if you want to save battery power (more on this later), or simply want to hear the music, not see it. Back to the sound quality. The massive dual 8 inch woofers and separate tweeter provide an ear splitting level of sound if your event needs it. The bass, even without Ultra-Bass enabled (via the button on top) is what you would expect from dual 8 inch woofers. It is deep and full and has no problem filling the room and shaking the floor. I have honestly preferred listening to this speaker with the Ultra-Bass turned off, as I think there are more than enough low end frequencies by default. That said, if you want the extra thump for different genres of music, it is definitely available with a single button press. As with the bass, the high frequencies are also very crisp and present. The overall tuning of this speaker is as I expected coming from two industry giants, Klipsch and Onkyo. Ultimately, the overall size of this speaker, the size of the woofers, and the attention to detail in the design, make it an extremely hi-fi sounding bluetooth speaker that should satisfy even the most discerning ears. **** BUILD **** There is a lot to unpack here. This thing is huge. It is rugged and made of ABS and metal. Klipsch states that it weighs 56.5 pounds, which may be a lot for some, but thankfully there are wheels and a large handle making it easy to move around. They also state that this has an IPX4 water rating, which should withstand light water splashes if you use it at a pool. I do not plan on having it near water, but it is nice to know it won’t get fried with a few splashes. The speaker also has rubber covers over both the power and accessory input ports on the back giving it even more protection from the elements. Klipsch has also included small built-in rubber bumpers (see my review pics) on the bottom and both sides of the speaker in case you want to lay it on its side. This is a great addition to an already robust build, keeping the sides of your speaker free from unsightly scratches. The front grill is all metal as expected and should protect the woofers and tweeter from accidents. That said, water will still get through, so be careful. The knobs on the top of the speaker are super solid and easy to turn with the perfect amount of resistance. The buttons for Ultra-Bass, power, play, pause, bluetooth pairing, are all rubber and feel like they will last forever. There is also a cutout behind the controls on top to hold a tablet or phone. It is however, a little too small / thin to hold a device with a thicker case. This speaker also houses a giant 5000mAh battery that Klipsch states will last up to 8 hours with lighting turned on, and 12 with it off. That is a wonderful battery life for such a large speaker, meaning you can get a full day’s listening in remote locations that don’t readily have power. **** KARAOKE & APP **** While this speaker doubles as a karaoke machine, I have found that the included microphone could use an upgrade. The New York comes with a cheap microphone that plugs into the back of the speaker. In my tests, I have found that the microphone's diaphragm simply cannot handle loud vocals and will distort when someone sings with force. If you are using it quietly, it can get the job done, but if you are in a loud environment, you might want to consider upgrading the microphone to a better design. The speaker also has a few buttons for effects (samples) to spice up your karaoke session, such as a record scratch and a crowd cheer. While these are fun for some users, I feel like they could have included this in the free app instead of putting dedicated buttons on the speaker itself. The optional app has all of the lighting and EQ customization features you would expect, plus a few other noteworthy uses. Mainly the ability to link additional Klipsch speakers to create a multi-speaker setup. I can’t even imagine how amazing and loud it would be to have two of these in the same setup! **** IN CONCLUSION **** If you are in the market for a wall-of-sound speaker that has the volume to handle your events, the Klipsch New York is a massive sounding, well designed speaker that will fill just about any location with rich, full sound. With a great battery life and built in wheels, it is a portable party powerhouse. Wanted a speaker that I could take outside, as well as to parties. What I got was much more than I expected. The New York Music City Party Speaker is an absolute blast! It is a wireless speaker (battery powered and Bluetooth capable), has two 8” woofers, a horn tweeter, and peripherals that make this the perfect party speaker. It is a large speaker, standing at nearly 2.5’ tall and weighing over 50 lbs. I was glad that it came with a set of wheels on it, which makes it easy moving it from location to location. The box also includes a microphone, a charging cable, and an aux cable. Sound is highly customizable, with bass and treble knobs, microphone volume (you can also plug a bass or guitar into one of the jacks, turning it into an amp), and buttons for a siren, turntable Chicka-chicka, and applause. The speaker also is lit, and you can set it to do all sorts of different patterns and colors of light. In use, the Party Speaker gets very loud. Bass is excellent. Sound quality is fantastic, even for being basic Bluetooth. Battery life is excellent. I often wheel this outside and play music on it while we are in the pool, and it works great even in the 100-degree weather here. Love this speaker and highly recommend it for loads of fun.

I absolutely love my new Klipsch New York bluetooth speaker! When I first unboxed it, I could not wait to power it on and pair with my phone. It was honestly one of the fastest unboxings I have ever done. It is only packed with 2 big pieces of styrofoam and I ripped it out of the box. Within 2 minutes it was on and in pairing mode. I had my phone connected, unraveled the microphone, and was singing karaoke in less time than it takes to microwave a burrito! I was singing songs with out adjusting one single setting. The fun was immediate. I had a popular streaming app that showed lyrics of the songs and I was scrambling to decide what song to play next. After this immediate euphoria wore off, I downloaded the app and learned the settings. The app is very easy to use and lets you adjust the sound settings and light settings. I started to play general music and found the perfect sound settings. I then played with the bass boost and started making the room shake. I used the speaker for a few hours without actually charging it first. I then let it charge overnight and have been using it every day for at least an hour a day. I have not had to charge it still. The speaker has a handle and two wheels that let you move it like a dolly. I have been moving it around my basement, but have not taken it outside yet. I am kind of afraid to and make my neighbors mad or jealous. If you purchase this Klipsch speaker, I guarantee you will have fun with it. A lot of people like to pretend that they don't like karaoke, but with this speaker and included microphone, it is impossible not to dabble. This is a must buy!

We have many big events in our family and I love and welcome any kind of party speaker. This speakers sound quality, bass quality and the lights are just top notch. Out of the box, I scanned the Q code to download the app and linked the speaker to my Bluetooth. I was ready to play music in less than 5 minutes. The app showed me the speaker had 82% charge and it allowed me to see and control everything about the speaker. It shows battery level, volume, input options including usb, Bluetooth and analog. It has a custom equalizer option also if you really need to control your bass and treble levels. It has a whole lighting section that allows you to change the front lighting on the subs and even the lighting on the side where the “Klipsch” logo is. I love how customizable that part it, it’s the little things haha. The microphone option allows for an awesome karoke experience. There are dials on the top of the speaker that control mic levels including the bass and treble as well as echo. I feel like that’s an excellent option because this speaker really puts out and having the controls for mics allows you to be on a whole different level for karoke. Another fun little option was the buttons to add little “dj” sound effects when music is playing. Something I wouldn’t typically use but I feel like it’s just fun to have a few sound effects. Now for the power or charging levels. Obviously, for a top notch sound experience you want this speaker to be plugged in. We kept this speaker out by the pool for a little over 5 hours with ultra bass on as well as the lights and the battery still showed about 30% battery life. I was impressed to have that much battery left even with all the options on a volume up! Very nice. Overall, I have 3 party speakers now. This one is my favorite. I have a huge Sony speaker, a LG speaker and now this Klipsch and with the two 8” subs, this speaker has the best bass sound for sure. Sound quality is so clear and crisp. I’m giving this a 9.5/10. The .5 deduction comes from the fact it is awkward to move around because the handle is fixed vs having an extended handle option. Literally, that’s my only complaint. Very minimal but still something worth noting.

The Klipsch New York Music City Bluetooth Party Speaker is an absolute powerhouse. I love the look, the sound, and the overall feel of this large speaker, it has that classic Klipsch presence and build quality that immediately stands out. The audio performance is excellent: rich, full, and capable of getting very loud without losing clarity. The controls are simple and easy to use, with quick access to volume, lighting, mic settings, and input selection right on the top panel. Klipsch also gives you a solid range of inputs: Bluetooth, Aux, a dedicated microphone input, and even an instrument input, which makes this speaker surprisingly versatile for parties, events, or casual jam sessions. One thing I wish Klipsch had added is a dedicated treble and bass control for regular Bluetooth audio. You get EQ knobs for the Mic/Aux input, but not for standard music playback, so any sound tweaks have to be done through the app. Physical EQ controls would have been a great addition. This speaker is big, and heavy. At nearly 60 pounds, it’s not something you casually pick up. You’ll be rolling it from place to place, and Klipsch clearly designed it with that in mind. For me, the trade-off is worth it because of the performance and features. Battery life is another strong point. You can get around 8 hours of use with the party lights on, and up to 12 hours with the lights off, which is impressive for a speaker of this size and output. Klipsch even added fun extras like built in party sound buttons (clapping, horn, record scratch), and it comes with a karaoke mic included, a great touch for gatherings. And being able to link it with other speakers in the Klipsch lineup is a huge plus, letting you expand your setup for larger spaces or bigger events. Overall, it’s a fantastic speaker with serious output, simple controls, long battery life, and tons of connectivity and entertainment features. Just be ready for its size and plan to use the app if you want to fine tune your sound.

If you are serious about your outdoor audio, the Klipsch New York Party Speaker is a beast. I’ve been putting this thing through its paces lately, and honestly, it lives up to the hype. The sound quality is killer. Even though it's built to be loud, the musician voices stay clear and the instruments sound great. When you're ready to get the party started, hitting the Ultra Bass mode gives you that punchy sound that easily fills a big backyard. It’s a heavy speaker, no doubt, but the built-in wheels make it super easy to roll around the yard. I also love that it has side stand-offs, so you can lay it down sideways if that works better for your space. It’s water-resistant too, so you don't have to worry about splashes near the pool or hot tub—just don't go dropping the whole thing in the water. The light modes are a blast and really set the mood. You can change everything right from the app, which is a nice touch. For parties, the included mic is great for some random karaoke, and there’s an extra input if someone wants to plug in a guitar and jam along. The Bluetooth is solid. I was sitting on my porch about 30 feet away and didn't have a single skip. The app is also straightforward and actually easy to use. Battery-wise, I ran it for several hours and it was still going strong. I haven't hit the full 8 hours yet, but it seems like it'll get there no problem. Overall, the Klipsch New York is an awesome party speaker. Between the sound, the connection, and that classic look, it’s going to be the star of my next backyard get-together.

This speaker rules. The sound quality is outstanding, even over bluetooth at high volumes. Good deep bass with the boost function, and a wide range with clear, crisp highs, too. You can use it for a regular speaker to listen to music at lower volumes and then crank it for an outdoor party - it works great in both cases. The included microphone isn't a high-end prestige device, but it's impressive for an add-in. The seperate mic controls to balance the inputs are great and really gives you range to use this for everything from work events to karaoke. The battery life is quite good. I can't deliver anything specfic about this because I haven't run to the end of it... so that's an endorsement. I'm also impressed by the construction - the input and power covers are sturdy. The wheels have great motion. The handle feels good on the hand. Just a well crafted device. And then finally, it's fun. The case looks cool, and includes loads of cool lighting tricks (or you can turn it off if you're in some kind of unfortunately boring situation that requires such a thing). There are even some silly sound effect buttons - you can air horn your heart out. It's great. It's loud. It connects easy. The battery lasts a long time. Go have a party.

They’ve been around since 1946! That’s 80 years of being in the game, and they’ve proved over and over again that they are one of the best when it comes to quality and audio performance. They’ve gone from years of almost exclusively being high-end audio to now focusing on the average consumer with many of their offerings. Whether you’re looking for high-performance or budget-friendly options, Klipsch is an excellent choice. As far as the New York Bluetooth speaker goes, it strikes a great balance between Klipsch quality and consumer-ready features. It’s extremely easy to set up and use, with obvious buttons for everything. There are no touch buttons or LED screens to use here; it’s old-fashioned physical buttons, which most of us love. The Klipsch New York speaker is impressive with its booming sound. You can control the bass, but if you’re using this for parties, weddings, or any other get-together, you’ll want the pulsating bass it can provide. It not only has a knob to control the bass but also a bass boost button. The sound is loud and clear, filling the whole room. Regarding non-bass-heavy music, the clarity is still very much there. I do wish the stereo separation were a bit more evident, and the soundstage were a bit wider; however, this speaker is not for an audiophile. None of these types of party speakers are. This speaker is for having fun, karaoke, or plugging in your electric guitar. It comes with one microphone and is a joy for all ages when it comes to karaoke. Speaking of the party aesthetic, there are RGB lights surrounding the woofers, so two circular lights bump and change colors, along with sporadic smaller lights throughout the front of the speaker. It’s very easy to go overboard with these RGB lights, but Klipsch designed them with control in mind, so they’re not obnoxious. I love how they are large, but not over the top. The battery was 90% charged when I unboxed it, but that may vary with each speaker. Klipsch says the battery life is 12 hours, which I can see being correct, because I left mine on for over 6 hours and it wasn’t halfway yet. But that may vary depending on volume, bass, lights, etc. This party speaker will enhance any get-together, wedding, birthday, or any occasion you want to get the people moving. Or if you simply want a family night in and have the kids join for karaoke. It’s heavy to transport, but it has wheels to make it easy to move around. It’s a serious speaker, so be aware of its size before ordering.

The word massive is an understatement when it comes to the Klipsch New York speaker. You will not be disappointed when needing a speaker for any gathering. Design, portability (wheels) and battery life are all great points for Klipsch. In the box you get the speaker, power cable, microphone and literature to get you started. I do recommend you download and connect with the Klipsch app to unlock the New York to it's full potential. Pairing was a breeze. Just push the BT button on the speaker itself and find it on your device and you are good to go! While most of the controls are on the top of the speaker like battery indicator, RGB, power, BT Mic settings etc, there are even more at the back for AUX in, Mic and Guitar inputs and volume for Guitar. With the app, you can choose between your inputs, control volume, have access to an EQ (Bass, mid and Treble), and lighting and sound effects. If for some reason you decided to purchase 2, you can pair them for Stereo sound. One thing I did not like was that there is no option to turn the speaker on or off via the app. Sound is amazing. But that is to be expected with Klipsch's quality and their well established footprint in the sound market. Bass is already excellent and non distorted, but you can take it even further with Ultra Bass and shake your neighbors walls if you please. Mids and Highs were great too even with the crazy bass and nothing I listened too ever sounded bad. Battery life is well above what I expected, but then again, they can fit a big battery in the chassis if they wanted. As I am not a fan of RGB anyways, the claim of up to 12 hrs is warranted as I have roughly 9-10 hrs of play and the battery indicator shows around 25% left. Of course if you are going to party you would want the lights on (and there are a lot of presets for lighting effects) but will reduce your battery life by 25%.

The Klipsch New York is a massive party speaker with a simple controls, great features, and powerful sound! Design This speaker is very large (see the attached picture with a yardstick). It stands about 31.5" high. The top has most of the controls. Ports are in sealed compartments on the back. There's a separate, sealed, compartment for the power cord. It takes a standard power cord. There's also a slot on top for a tablet or maybe some phones and a USB input/charging port in the back, with the other ports. There's a very large handle on the top, back. It works well to carry it, but remember, it is heavy. Thankfully they included wheels! When it's standing upright and flat, the wheels don't touch the ground. As you lean it back, it leans on the wheels and is very easy to pull on a flat surface. There are also feet on the left and right side, so you can lay it down either way. The 8" speaker closer on the top plays the left channel and the bottom 8" speaker plays the right channel, so I recommend laying it down to the left, with the controls on the left side, for some stereo separation. It also includes a corded handheld mic. Sound The sound produced by the New York didn't disappoint me, and in fact really impressed me! I wanted to test how "big" the sound could be so I took it outside and played it in my back yard for about an hour and a half, with different types of music. It can do high volumes really well, while holding tight with deep bass and crisp, clear vocals. I was really impressed. I wasn't really familiar with Klipsch before. They have a "horn" design they use in their speakers for better sound and, without any objective data, I would tend to believe it's a very good design - however that is implemented in this speaker. It just produces, loud, but clear sound. It does well at low volumes too, but I was playing it at around 50% to 90% for the time outside and really impressed. I also played with the EQs, as mentioned later, and they make a very noticeable difference. The Flat/default sound is excellent, but if you want to accentuate any part of the sound, try changing them a bit. It felt like I was listening to a live show in my back yard! I also tested using mics with it and the sound was great. It was very easy to get great volume out of the speaker using the included mic or other ones that I tried since it has both a gain control on the back as well as a dedicated, mic volume on the top. I'll talk about mic controls a bit later. And I just need to mention the Bass again. It's really deep and excellent! I Loved the bass from this thing! There's nothing wrong with vocals or highs, they sound excellent too, but the bass really impressed me!!! App The Klipsch Connect Plus app is refreshing to me! It's very simple and clean. Everything is easy to find and use on one screen. Most audio device control apps I've seen have pictures all over and sometimes advertisements for different music streaming services. Battery life is at the top, there's a volume slider as well as buttons for the volume and mute. You can change inputs, control playback of the current song, and an equalizer. While the EQ is basic with only three bands, it's very effective. There are four presets, Flat, Vocal, Bass, and Rock, as well as a Custom setting. There's also a large "Ultra Bass" button, just like on the top of the speaker. It has the sound effect buttons like on the top of the speaker. There's a section to control lighting with a lot of options as well as "Speaker Pairing" and "Settings". The Speaker Pairing let's you choose either "Stereo Mode", for two speakers to act as left and right channels, or "Broadcast Mode" to send the same audio to more than one speaker. Settings let's you change some other options like set the device name, turn off "Auto Standby", and turn off "Function Sounds", like when you turn it on or off. It also lets you view other information about the speaker. Controls The buttons and dials work very well and are well calibrated. I don't prefer the large dial to change between the five lighting options, though it works fine and is easy to use. It's just a personal preference that I feel like that's a strange control for that setting. Then again, it's fast and easy, maybe everyone else will like it. The buttons have a great feel to them. They're not hard to press but it's very easy to tell when you have pressed them. I like the fact that there are dedicated buttons for a applause, airhorn, and scratching. The dials for the mic input works great too, for volume bass, treble, and echo. I tested with the included mic and two other mics I have, connected through a type of splitter into the one 1/4" mic port, and all three mics worked great! The included one sounded very good to me, has an on/off switch, and feels like it's better quality than I expected. Ports As mentioned above, there are a number of ports on the back. There's one opening that has audio input and output and another that has the connector for the power cord. Both have a sealed cover that hangs down while it's opened. The larger opening has a sealed compartment that, when opened, gives you access to an aux in (1/8"), aux out (1/8"), Mic input (1/4"), a guitar/instrument input (1/4"), and a USB A port that can be used for playing audio files or charging a phone or tablet (see the attached picture showing the ports). Battery Life They claim 12 hours with lights off, and 8 hours with the lights on. So far the battery life has been excellent, so I totally believe those numbers. As mentioned above, there's a setting for "Auto Standby", on by default, to help save power. Other than that, there are no options to extend battery longevity, like only charging to 80%. Maybe they'll add that with an update. Summary The New York is a Bluetooth Speaker that's very easy to use, on the speaker and from the app, while providing excellent, powerful sound! Forget room filling sound, if you want your back yard to sound like you have a live concert happening, this should do the trick!

The Klipsch New York party speaker is a superb large portable party speaker. At almost 32” and 57 pounds, the built-in wheels and handle make it easy to roll. Rough surfaces may make it more difficult. The speaker also comes with a wired microphone which is plus, many speakers like this do not. It can be controlled through the Klipsch app or right on the device with various knobs and buttons. It has Bluetooth (BT) 5.2, two ¼ inch plugs in for a guitar or for karaoke. There is also a port for daisy chaining multiple ones together for stereo or beyond sound. The battery is 5000mAh. Enough for 12 hours of play with the lights off, 8 with it on, and with USB port, plenty or power to charge other devices or provide files for playing music. The device is IPX4 rated for Water Resistance in light rain or splashing. Even though the Klipsch app provides full control for the device, it has manual knobs to do everything. The app is not needed to take advantage of the main features. This includes light control, volume, special effects, forward/back, BT, play/pause, input, mic, bass/treble, and echo control. equalizer control. Anyone at the device and control the main features. On the back are the plugins for mic and guitar with volumes control for each, 3.5mm jacks for aux in and aux out, and USB port. The port can be used to charge other devices as well as play from them. On the app you can control whether the front and side lighting are on or not. The colors are bright and vary on the speakers and on the side in different sequences you set. Playing music through your phone is easy to setup and play. The sound is really good, and at high volumes. Whether flat or with the equalizer it is crisp and with the Extra Bass button it really thumps. I only found some distortion at the highest volume possible, and that is very loud. Plugging in and using the mic can make for a lot of fun. Mic control lets you set how much comes thought. Echo let’s you alter the singing. The slot on the top will hold some music if needed. The built-in handle and wheels make it easy to haul around. On surfaces like sand it may be an issue, but on hard surfaces it’s easy to move. This speaker has a lot of built in features for a fun time on the go with a big sound. Everyone will hear this. The ability to link multiple ones together for stereo of beyond sound is another feature that would come in handy for really large areas. If you want to entertain on the go for a large group or area, this speaker has everything you need to do it.

Unboxing was a bit of a challenge for a disabled vet doing it by himself, but I got it out without damaging anything. This thing is gorgeous. The size is just intimidating compared to other Bluetooth speakers. Recently I started doing more music playback at home after getting some Sonos speakers, and even the new Denon Home 600 that sounds better than anything other than my Bang and Olufsen Beoplay A9 that is my reference speaker for any single speaker. I was curious how this would work out. I like that installing the app did NOT require any account creation. Just install and no account, it looks for the device and finds it. Can even register it from the app easily. So kudos to Klipsch for this total surprise. I tried a few things right off the bat and was disappointed in the sound until I started going through various types of music, and I started hitting some that probably were better quality MP3’s, and suddenly this thing, at just half volume, filled my open area (great room, dining, kitchen) with amazing sounding music and really good bass since I had activated the bass boost. And yes, this sounds AMAZING now. I charged it up although it was mostly charged already. Inside is a little booklet with quick info and diagrams for what is what. THANK YOU AGAIN Klipsch for not making everything a QR code to find out what does what. I always prefer a physical little booklet for a quick startup. Using my iPhone 16 Pro Max and my music collection (local MP3’s, I don’t stream anything) I really started to like this thing. The lighting options are entertaining, but for personal use I’d likely just keep them off, since for me that stuff is more distracting than anything. But one thing I LOVE is that the middle LED actually displays volume setting when you’re changing the volume. Great thinking. So you can see just where it is as you adjust, whether by phone or the knob on top. This one lacks the retractable handle the others have. It’s not tall enough, so for someone like me who is over 6 feet tall, it’s VERY awkward rolling it bent over so far it looks like you are doubling up in pain. And while I like that the feet are soft and solid so it sits well wherever you pace it, the ones closer to the wheels actually make it HARDER to roll since you have to tip it over further than you’d think to get them up and out of the way. Another interesting bit is having extra rubber feet on both sides, so you can position it laying down if you need. This awkwardness to move it without a handle that extended to make it easier is the only reason this isn't getting 5 stars. I wanted to plug in my bass guitar, my electric guitar, my electric violin, or any of my other devices to try this out that way as well, but after testing a new studio monitor a month or so ago and returning it, I can't find where my cable ended up. So I can't vouch for how this works with instruments. Worked fine with the included microphone, and my own mic as well. Again, the volume levels are almost shocking. The echo dial makes for some fun play. I do wish they had done something to mark on the rubber plug that pulls out to protect the plug area what socket is for what. Depending on lighting it's tough to see the small icons inside that recessed area. Would be MUCH easier to see something on the inside of the plug that is hanging outside. Maybe someone will note that for the product roadmap. For people who are into the lighting effects, they should be happy. The options for this are pretty granular and let you get customization to try to find something to your liking. I tried to do a recording showing the volume LED feature and maybe try to catch a bit of the sound but on a phone it’s just not going to get the true depth of the sound here. But it at least shows the LED activity and the LED in the center acting as a volume control at the end of my video. I have a coworker here who has an earlier version that he uses for summer parties in his back yard, and his neighbors all actually enjoy it because they can hear everything so clearly all around the block. MY neighbors wouldn’t be nearly so gracious, so I had to limit my loud testing for times when they were away. But I was surprised at the sound levels I could get out of this without any serious distortion. Build quality seems pretty top notch. Yes, plastic. But nothing feels cheap, thin, or at risk. Nothing moves that isn’t supposed to move, it’s just solid. Knobs and buttons all work well. Rotate freely, press consistently and the presses are registered correctly. Can’t wait for the lake to get warm enough to swim in – this will be a great surprise when I fire it up the first time without warning.

Overall Impression This thing is just fun. It’s a giant speaker with lights. It’s loud. It’s mobile. It connects easily through Bluetooth. That’s generally all you need to know. If you want more details keep reading. Build Quality & Appearance The overall appearance is good. It’s large at approximately 32” high by 15” wide by 15” deep. It can stand vertically or lay on either side with rubber feet located on three surfaces. All of the buttons and knobs are on the top. Inputs are located on the back. It’s heavy with the shipping label showing over 65 pounds. There are wheels on the back / bottom so that you can roll it around like a suitcase. Lights are on the front around the speaker area and the Klipsch logos on the sides also light up. There are different light sequences that you can choose from. Build quality seems to be pretty good. Most of the casing is a thick plastic. The front grill is metal. The input area on the back has a rubber-like removable cover to protect the openings. Sound Its primary job is to be a speaker so let’s talk about the sound quality. It has two 8” subs, so there’s quite a bit of bass for a Bluetooth speaker. When turning the volume up the bassy sound gets a light brighter. It’s more impressive at lower to medium volumes in my opinion. The overall sound is good. This is well past a typical Bluetooth speaker, but not quite professional DJ equipment. I think a house party or a backyard get together would be well-served. Microphone – It does come with a microphone, and there are controls specifically for the mic; volume, bass, treble, and echo. Ultrabass feature – The ultrabass button does add a little to the lower frequencies. Connection The New York Party Speaker connects through Bluetooth. There’s an optional app that provides more control for the speaker including lights and sound. One very cool feature with this speaker is that you can connect multiple speakers at the same time via wired inputs or Bluetooth. For example, you could have two speakers connected and set it up as stereo. If you want to buy five of these, you could sync them to play at the same time. There are also the multiple inputs on the back for wired connections; auxiliary, guitar, and microphone. Controls Manual controls are on the top of the speaker. You have typical buttons such as on/off, previous, next, and play/pause. The Ultrabass feature has a manual button. There are microphone controls that I mentioned earlier. Sound effect buttons include airhorn, record scratch, and applause. Bluetooth and Broadcast buttons connect to your Bluetooth device or the other Klipsch Music City Party speakers. Light effects can be controlled as well. The Light Mode Knob lets you cycle through the preset light pulses. The Light button turns the light show on and off. App Yes, there’s an app for that. The app controls things such as: Light Controls – there’s 5 light pulse types and can control colors. Audio Controls – Can adjust bass, mid, and treble. Has preset audio settings such as Rock, Vocal, etc. Also can turn on/off the ultrabass button. Things to Improve There are a few things that I would suggest for Klipsch to change or add. Provide a place to store the microphone. If you use it for karaoke, there’s not really a place to set the microphone down. Have more control over the color and pulsing lights from the app. The sound effect buttons have a delay when pressing them. If you wanted to use them over music it makes the timing difficult. I’d like to see these be instantaneous or even have the sound effect match the BPM of the song. Suggest Klipsch make a dedicated subwoofer to add to the line (if that’s not already an option). Could improve the listening quality, and help it trend toward a more professional line up. Conclusion I would give the Klipsch New York Party Speaker a 4.5 star rating, but since that’s not an option I will mark it at 4 stars. It’s a really fun product to use and sounds pretty good. There are a handful of things that could improve with the speaker, but overall I’m pretty happy with it.

The Klipsch New York is a Bluetooth "party speaker" that definitely takes the "party" part seriously. It's a giant, loud speaker built to be the centerpiece of any gathering. If you need a speaker that can fuel parties of virtually any size and you're willing to deal with the heft that comes with it, this thing delivers in spades. The sound of this speaker is the star of the show, and it's incredible. The bass is present and punchy in a way that you don't often see with Bluetooth speakers, meaning this speaker performs exceptionally well outdoors where most others do not. Even with the bass being as heavy as it is, the overall sound profile of this speaker is surprisingly well balanced, with strong mids and clear highs. This thing will comfortably fuel the largest parties and tailgate affairs without breaking a sweat, filling an outdoor space with sound in a way smaller speakers can't touch. Beyond the sound quality, another standout feature is the included microphone and instrument inputs. As someone who likes to play music in social settings, this has been a blast. I've run my electronic drums through it as a speaker, and I've used the mic to sing along with my acoustic guitar, and in both cases the sound has been excellent. This speaker is more than capable of handling an impromptu jam or karaoke session and could definitely hold its own for a small gig if you needed it to. That's a level of versatility you don't typically get with something considered a Bluetooth speaker. Finally, another positive for me is that using it doesn't require downloading the Klipsch app. It feels like every single device you buy these days demands you download yet another app just to use it, so it's refreshing that the New York works right out of the box over Bluetooth with nothing else needed. If you desire to tweak the EQ or lighting more, you can certainly download the Klipsch app, but this is entirely optional. I love that they made the app an enhancement rather than a requirement. With all the positives I've outlined, there are a couple of things to note. First, this thing is huge and very heavy. This is the trade-off of having a speaker large enough to have space-filling, dual 8" speakers and a horn, and it frankly feels like lugging around a PA speaker, which, at these dimensions, it basically is. Thankfully Klipsch included a burly carry handle and wheels for rolling it around, which takes some of the pain out of moving it. But make no mistake, this pushes the boundaries of what you could reasonably consider a "portable" Bluetooth speaker. If you're looking for something you can casually toss in a bag, this isn't it. The second issue was a frustrating one right out of the box: I had to factory reset the speaker before it would connect to my phone. The Bluetooth simply refused to pair no matter what I tried, which is not the first impression you want from a device like this. The reset did resolve it, and it's been solid since, but it's worth noting that the initial setup experience wasn't as plug-and-play as you'd expect, at least for me personally. Overall, if you need a party speaker that can rock a party of any size and you can deal with the massive bulk of this one, you won't be disappointed. The sound quality and sheer loudness are the whole point here, and the New York absolutely delivers. Just know going in that you're trading portability for power, and if that's a trade you're willing to make, this is a strong contender to fuel your next party.

The Klipsch New York speaker is so awesome! I have had such a blast using it and taking it to events. Out of the box, this is one heavy speaker. It took some care to lift it out of the packaging. I plugged it in and let it start charging. I came back to it about 4 hours later and the speaker was fully charged up. I unplugged it to test it on its battery and it blew my mind. This speaker can play over 10 hours of music on a charge. I had to download the klipsch connect app and it linked up easily with the bluetooth. The app gives you control over all of the different lighting effects, and let you adjust the equalizer for audio mixes. It also lets you control the dj noises like audience clapping and party air horns. The sound out of this is completely insane. The first test I did was running bass frequencies and testing the bass output of the twin 8" woofers. It did not dissapoint as it produced bass frequency all the way down to 30hz, which boggles my mind coming from an essentially battery powered PA system. The mids and highs are very clear and can handle some volume. I love bass, so cranking it up on this unit was a must, and it did not diasapoint between the output on the equalizer and extra bass button. It jams out and puts in the work and have had so many people talking about it and asking about it being battery powered. It does also have inputs for microphones or a guitar. It comes with a microphone for being able to karaoke. It is a pretty decent quality wired mic, and sounds good. There is also a slat in the top of the speaker to rest a tablet to do karaoke on. The fact that it can do this for 10 hours is so crazy. The light controls are cool and you can change it to make a whole series of different colors. It really makes the speaker pop out to an audience. I love everything about this. It even has a rear grab handle and 2 wheels to easily roll it at a tilt. Overall there are a few differnt sizes of this series of speaker, and I think this one is definitely the one to go for. Powerful, sleek, entertaining. Long long battery life. All wins

I picked this speaker up to upgrade my outdoor/gathering music system. I have two other units from competitors, and both are about ½ the size of this unit. Both sound good, but if I get a lot more than 30 people, or people get a good distance from my porch/deck, the sound fades. I had some previous experience with units this size from other brands, and I like this brands previous products I've used (stereo speakers), so I figured I'd give this a try. Set up is easy, comes with a charging cord and a mic. Downloading app and connecting that went well also. The app allows customization of lighting, remote control of the volume, and modification of the equalizers. This system came with a full charge, and is estimated to last 8 hours, which I run it for 2-3 hours at a time recently and it seems like 8 hours is accurate. The sound us fairly balanced, good highs and lows, but you can add a bass boost for extra punch. The PA system works well for voice, but I did not test guitar function, but I'm sure it would work well. I use the 3.5mm input and bluetooth input, all worked well also. The volume on this is quite good, and does reach quite a ways further outdoors, and I'm sure it can garner a noise complaint from neighbors, but I do not want to test that toilet badly. The build and weight on this is a bit hearty, and it's much appreciated they have nice rolling wheels to help move this around and a solid handle. I do reccomend this speaker and have to give it five stars, nothing I feel is there to deduct anything for. This can be paired with other speakers like it to make a set, but I do not have the capability to test that, but it's a feature here also. The price is competative, the sound is very good and comparable to others. A very nice P.A. speaker.

Hello friends and welcome to my review of the new Klipsch New york music city bluetooth party speaker. First off I want to talk about the shipping, The speaker arrived in it's own box with no additional boxing. The box was damaged however upon opening the package the speaker was in perfect condition. Be aware that this speaker weighs 62 lbs. So it is good to have a helper around to unbox this unit if you can not lift 62 lbs. After the speaker is out of the box it has real nice wheels on it to move it around. Klipsch added some nice features to the cabinet of this speaker to make moving it around easier. Such as feet on the sides of the speaker, so it can be laid down on it's side without scratching up the cabinet. There are feet on the bottom as well that hold it steady and keep it from rattling or buzzing on hard surfaces. The controls are on the top and are quality knobs and buttons. If I were to make a change to the unit I would recess the controls or put a frame around them so they could not be damaged in transit. Moving on I like the sound that the new speaker puts out. It is rich and full with a clean presentation. Klipsch knows how to make really good speakers and this one is great. They built this speaker similar to a PA speaker like musicians use. It is a DI-apalitto design with two drivers sitting vetically with a tweeter in the center to anchor the sound. This design is perfect for this speaker. The bass is solid and hits hard, even without ultra bass engaged. With ultra bass turned on it is like adding a sub to mix. The mids are real clean and sound correct. The tweeter brings the sound to life, in a balanced way. This is by far the best sounding bluetooth speaker I have ever heard. It sounds like audiophile grade speakers and the sound is glorious. The light show this speaker puts out is great too. It is adjustable by turning a knob on top and it has a lot of different options. I also like the rear connections, there are a mic input as well as a guitar input. So you can go full karaoke if you want. Honestly there are only a very few minor things I would change if I was in charge. First, I would make the unit water proof to some degree. I think most folks will want to take this speaker outside, and sometimes it rains out there. Secondly I would add a cage or something around the top controls. The only other thing is I wish Klipsch would send me 5 more units. Because in the manual it states that you can add up to 6 of these speakers together at once! I would like to test them for connectivity. Such as how far can you set them apart? How far away can they be from each other as well as from the phone? Can they ring my entire property? I have questions, they need answers. Klipsch please send me 5 more speakers!! In conclsion, this is the best bluetooth speaker I have ever heard! And yes i recommend this to everyone!
