About this product
Kristin Korb is a jewel of jewels. The bassist and vocalist commands both of her instruments with panache, engaging them simultaneously with an ease comparable to breathing. (Tyran Grillo, All About Jazz) There are few bassists who can sing and there are even fewer who can do it well. Kristin Korb is one of those artists who make you forget that she is playing the bass when you hear her crystalline voice. Inspired by the days when music was romantic and made you want to dance, Kristin and her trio embody that spirit and carry their audiences along for the ride. Love eventually brought the American bassist and vocalist to Denmark in 2011. On her new , Kristen Korb explores the Holiday season, performing traditional classics as well as twentieth century new classics Album Tracks 1. Christmas Will Really Be Christmas 2. I've Got My Love to Keep Me Warm 3. That's What I Want for Christmas 4. Winter Wonderland 5. Up on the Housetop / Here Comes Santa Claus 6. Up on the Housetop 7. Here Comes Santa Claus 8. Santa Baby 9. Snowbound 10. Angels We Have Heard on High 11. Christmas Time Is Here 12. Christmas Is 13. Silent Night 14. We Three Kings 15. Count Your Blessings Instead of Sheep

Vivian Fung's work is influenced by Asian sources such as Balinese gamelan music. Violin Concerto soloist Kristin Lee's shared experience of Bali with the composer resulted in an intensely lyrical and virtuoso work in which West and East collide to create music of remarkably fresh sophistication. Fung draws on John Cage's 'prepared' piano techniques to create often eerie and otherworldly effects in Glimpses, ideas from which expand into the Piano Concerto. Subtitled 'Dreamscapes', this work explores contrasts ranging from hauntingly sustained calm to moments of brutal power. Album Tracks 1. Violin Concerto - Kristin Lee/Metropolis Ensemble 2. Glimpses for Prepared Piano - Conor Hanick 3. Piano Concerto Dreamscapes - Conor Hanick
