Q: How do you mount the rain gauge?
A: Basically mounted a post into the ground in the middle of the yard set the rain gauge on the post and tied it down with some bungee cord. That way the rain gauge doesn’t blow away if the wind gets pretty strong.
Q: in order to get the most accurate info can this mount on a rooftop?
A: You can mount it on the roof, but the problem is during the summer. It’s going to reflect the temperature of the heat is radiated off the roof. I tried mounting mine on the roof. It was getting a 10 to 20° error in the temperature and then moved it into the middle of the yard on a post and noticed the temperature was more in line with what the local forecast is
