Customer Ratings & Reviews

I use this to hold photos from my SLR. Highly portable and fast enough to edit on the fly. Works flawlessly with iPad Pro as well as PC. An excellent fast and reliable file bucket. Might get a second for backup given how cheap it is. Software is actually useful for that purpose. Syncs with Adobe easily. Just point Lightroom to it and it’s a seamless experience. Pros might want something more like a NAS with RAID, but as an enthusiast this fits the bill.

It has become too costly for me to use a Solid State Drive to use for a Mac Time Machine back up my Mac Mini M2 Pro computer. The recent highly extreme costs of SSDs forced me to try the LaCie 5 TB HD and I could not have made a better decision. Works like a charm. I will now begin to erase and replace my SSDs to create more storage space for my video production and photography projects. Lacie will also now be an option for further purchases.

I love this hard drive. Tons of space for a little bit of money. The design is definitely high quality and heavy duty. Great for traveling and remote work.

Works PERFECTLY... Very low lag time once taken out of sleep mode... I'm a mobile DJ and use this thing all the time... no issues yet... Small, Rugged, and Efficient... definitely a BestBuy Dj Tempest

This is my go to backup for all my photos and video. It is insulated and protected from drops. so far so good.

This external hard drive is Amazing!!! The Speed stands out to me!!! I have large files that I move into the drive and it is transferred over in a matter of seconds. The large capacity at 5TB is a Big Plus for my video content. Great Price!!! A must purchase for anyone to back up your files!

I’ve been using the LaCie Rugged 5TB External Hard Drive for a few months, and overall, I’m impressed with its performance and reliability. Here’s a breakdown of my personal experience: First off, the durability of this drive is outstanding. I work in various environments, including outdoors and in busy areas, so I need something that can handle bumps and drops. The bright orange rubber casing not only looks rugged but does the job of protecting the hard drive well. I’ve accidentally dropped it a couple of times, and it hasn’t skipped a beat — the shock resistance gives me peace of mind. Additionally, the IP54 water and dust resistance is a bonus for when I’m on the go.

I love my LaCie harddrives--I have 6 of them, and they are affordable and super high quality, so durable and reliable. As a photographer, I travel a lot and I need to have my harddrive with me to download photographs and edit on the go. I can always rely on my LaCie to work well and handle being moved around in my backpack. And Best Buy TotalCare gives me the peace of mind knowing I can get service when I need it.

A sturdy and reliable hard disk drive. I am a photographer and use this as my backup hard drive for all my RAW photos - it's quick to upload files to, and a great portable HDD.

Excellent and reliable pocket drive. I use these for video storage. In 20 years, I've only had one fail and LaCie is very receptive for troubleshooting.

An excellent drive... and a very nice rubber encasement

Grabbed this portable hard drive to archive photos and videos. Great short-term storage solution!

Reliable & Rugged. I've had the 2tb version for 5+ years, and when I needed mobile large storage for offloading RAW video files, I knew this was the best option for me.

Good item, perfect performance and good quality. Perfect space

This is the best value out there for back-up storage. Plug and play for Mac users. Very fast transfer speeds for backing up large media files. This device is also recognized on Sony televisions to view your media files.

You literally can’t go wrong with these, I travel for work so all my hard drives take some sort of impact us at some point whether through TSA or regular wear and tear while traveling, so it’s always good to be able to relax because I know these hard drives don’t easily get damaged. I probably have 24 of these

Lightning fast, easy to use, & reasonably priced for a large amount of storage.

Best exernal storage system I have ever used highly recommend

I use these to store my photographs as an active library in lightroom and they work perfectly. I've never had an issue with one like I did with WD drives and a few others.
