The PC Mover worked fine! Easy to use with good instructions and it came with safer ease for old laptop. Could you do it yourself? Why! I recommend PC Mover.

July 12, 2025. The product achieves the goal. The cloning process was excellent. It is important to follow the instructions to prepare both computers. The preparation of both computers will achieve the goal of cloning the original computer.

Software was working but it took a very long time to run the transfer process. The first time I went to the store the sales associate had no idea that you had this software. I came back to return what I was given and found the correct software myself.

PCMover was easy to install. It helped to print out the instructions. The transfer took less time as originally posted by the software.

I had to down load a updated copy to both of my computers and while it was gathering the computer information it started to try to reconnect to the ether net cable port instead of the WI FI it was using. i tryed tech support and have not heard back from them.

Replaces a PC that only supports win 10. Used this to move applications from old to new PC. Worked very well. Easy to install and start, then worked on it's own. Done after about an hour and a half. Note: I did not use it to move files (pictures, spreadsheets) although it will also do them. I choose to create a backup and then restore the backup to the new machine.

My review for this product would give it an excellent rating with that meeting 20 a 1/2 out of 5 stars. Pros of the product include easyness of use, friendly and very helpful customers support, And the purchase amount compared to what you get is very great deal. I guess the only pro that might factor in is loading speed. But I'm not all that good with computers so that could have to be with an issue on my end.

I had last used PC Mover in 2015 when I moved everything to a new lap top. I was kind of troubled by negative reviews I was reading because the overall experience was mostly positive last time around. After installing the software on both computers I followed the standard instructions. And 6 hours later I had everything I needed from my old computer on my new. I was worried because I had a few Adobe Cs6 programs that are not supported or sold anymore and I had lost the key. No worries, they were transferred and activated as promised. The only minor hitch was my Office 365 programs. They were transferred but wouldn't work because the computer configuration was different than the subscription. I only needed to update the subscription and reinstall and I was good to go. I don't know how it could be easier to get what you need off your old computer on to your new one than PC Mover.

Software was great - transferred about 500 GB of data and apps in about 4 hours. I tried twice to transfer using the cord included in this package but got error messages both times. Ditched the cord and transferred over my wired network and it worked fine. If I were to do it again, I would download the software with a license key; it then prompts you to download the latest version anyway. The directions are pretty easy to follow.

I really researched products that would help me move all my files from old WIN7 PC to my new WIN10 computer. I decided on this product, because it doesn't just create a copy of your old system on your new one, it actually moves your files and programs. You choose exactly what you want to move. While it can't move everything, because of compatibility, it sure did a good job at moving most of my programs and all of my files. This product was absolutely worth it. I wouldn't only recommend it, I would purchase it again!

This review is for the “store version” which is the one with the PC to PC cable included. I followed the instructions to the letter. As I was teeing up both PCs but before connecting the cable a message appeared on the new PC saying Wi-Fi was the appropriate method to transfer the data. I started the process and that’s when 45 hours to completion notice popped up (yikes! This is just a simple home computer). Got hold of support which gave me somewhat inaccurate instructions and ultimately the transfer process stopped. I couldn’t restart so I uninstalled the software from both computers, reinstalled the software and started the process again but ignored the Wi-Fi message and connected the cable to both computers anyway. Two hours later it was done.

I was able to move data from old compiter to a new one. I'm not very good at computer stuff. It wasn't as seamless as I had hoped, but it worked. I did laptop to laptop and used WIFI because the HDMI cord that was included didn't fit the laptops. It took 16 hours to transfer the data. I used the second PCmover that I bought to transfer desk top to desktop and the HDMI cord was used. It took about 4 hours to transfer way more data than the lap tops. Overall I am pleased. I would buy them again if necessary.

Works well to transfer photos and most data and settings. Some add on programs like security software required added setup but cannot imagine the switch without it.

The product was easy to use and worked as advertised. Worth the price, especially when considering moving the files on your own.

I was skeptic of buying this product, but it did very well transferring files and settings between an old HP laptop to a new. This program does seem to be created more towards transfers between two HP's. I only hit a few bumps since I was transferring from Windows 7 to 10.

Did not use, purchased to use migrating to new computer, but by the time the new computer installation was completed 90% of the migration occurred automatically through Microsoft. Manually moved data files to finish up so never even opened the box and returned it.

Outstanding software program! Prep time approximately 10 minutes and the actual time to move files and apps from old PC to new PC another 10 minutes! Suffice to say in 20 minutes not only did I transfer all of my files, it also transferred all of my apps including settings! No longer did I have to wait hours and hours for transfer. I did purchase a transfer cable to accomplish this as the enclosed ethernet cable would not plug into my laptops.

Instructions were easy to follow. Used the customization option to move only what was needed from old to new computer. Transfer was completed in a couple of hours on .5G of data. Much easier than what we had done before to transfer files.

Laplink's PC Mover has become the easiest way to migration between new computers since Microsoft eliminated the migration function starting with Windows 10. There are a number of options with what and how to migrate files and programs from an old computer to a new one. The basic functionality will migrate both applications and files to the new PC. Most applications will function immediately on the new computer but a few will require entering the license key again. The software that I've run into requiring reactivation are Office365 and antivirus software. The process was simple as it involved logging in once the software was launched. Since it was already installed there was no time wasted downloading and installing from scratch.

This product worked like a champ to transfer all my files and photos from my old Lenovo PC to my new HP ENVY PC. It also transferred most of my programs. I used the customize setting to specify which programs I wanted to transfer. PCmover does an analysis and presents a chart showing which programs are transferable, which are likely transferable and which cannot be transferred, then you can choose which ones you want to transfer. I was able to screen out old programs I no longer used or which were associated with my old Lenovo. One of my"likely" programs did not transfer successfully but over 30 were successful. The downside lies with the instructions: the ones on the printed sheet did not totally match the ones on the disc so I opted to follow the disc and that worked. This also comes with a "free" trial eraser program (that can only be used for a limited time after which you have to buy it) to scrub the hard drive on your old computer . PCmover promotes using it as a routine maintenance tool to remove all traces of unwanted files from your computer. I took advantage of the hard drive erase feature to completely remove everything - operating system, partitions and all files - but it took several days to do this using the 3-pass process. The estimated time for the most secure 7-pass process was 35 weeks for about 2 TB of data!
