Best way to relive your childhood games. Gotta tryout this game

I never got the chance to play these games as a child and it was well worth the effort to purchase them at a discounted price.

Was super excited when they brought back this game i still own the original Playstation 1 version

I am old enough to have played both of these games at their original release. While the gameplay was a bit limited, I loved the atmosphere of the levels, the story, and the wonderful voice acting. The puzzles range from easy to rather challenging. The combat typically is easy to maybe average, but if you get too many enemies around, it can get difficult. Especially in the first game where you need a weapon or fire to actually fully kill your vampire enemies. The boss fights in the first game are also memorable, as they each require a bit of thinking, rather than just running up and attacking them. The second game doesn't really have boss fights, but instead cranks up the story and adds more excellent voice acting. There are a few downsides, some of which aren't a criticism of the games, but rather the series. The first game, Legacy of Kain: Blood Omen was a PS1 game and is not included in this collection, which would help give a player more insight to the overall narrative. There are also two more games in the series after these two, the first of which helps explain some of the enemies you run into in Soul Reaver 2, and the second bringing the whole series to a close. I truly hope they remaster the final two games, as the cliffhanger ending to SR2 begs continuation. The other criticisms, which prevent me from giving this 5 stars, is just play control issues. Raziel sometimes feels a little clunky to control. Especially in the second game, there were numerous times I would jump, and then press the button again to glide, only for the button press to not register and I would fall. Sometimes trying to do a high jump would not work on the first try. Jumping to a small platform often resulted in falling off the other side. Nothing game breaking, but annoyances that shouldn't be in a remastered game such as this. Oh, and it would have been helpful for there to be a prompt instructing how to switch between the original and remastered graphics. There's no toggle in the menu, you have to look at the controls to see that R3 is what does that. I played through the entire first game in the original graphics because I didn't see how to switch. Remastered looks SO much better. Overall, highly recommend, and would do so for the story and voice work alone.

Been waiting for this game to be released. Great storyline and soundtrack. You can even switch between the classic and new graphics of the PS5 version. Highley recommend this game.!

What’s nice about these remakes is that they essentially play the same as the old versions. If you loved the old ones, you’re gonna love these.

This game is a true update, the game is exactly as u remember, only with a much needed graphics update.

Talk about nostalgia! Sure it doesn’t have the graphics of your new games, but the updates are impressive. And with both games, the price is very reasonable.
