    A Gorgeous Handheld Gaming Experience

The Legion Go II has been everything I could have asked for so far. It pretty much combined my steam deck experience with my gaming laptop experience and takes the best from both worlds. It does everything a gaming laptop can do but unlike my gaming laptop it can actually be taken with you on walks or wherever on the go and be used in any other portable scenarios with ease and with amazing battery life. It is also much better than the Steam Deck with its larger gorgeous OLED screen and higher performance so I can actually play most games including more modern games at 60 fps. I honestly see no reason to even have a gaming laptop or steam deck anymore because it does a great job and replacing both. I hear a lot of reviewers say it’s too expensive and just buy a gaming laptop but apparently those reviewers only play games sitting down because you’re not gonna be able to use a laptop for 2+ hours while walking around. It can also be used for other things other than gaming since it has features like a laptop such as also being convenient to connect to a tv rather then having to take a bigger laptop out. I can game on larger screens while also not having to deal with all the heat my gaming laptop creates and space it takes up. I also don’t think it’s too big. I was worried because some people said it was heavy but this is just as heavy as my steam deck is with a case. I’ve had no issues walking while playing. Now it is not without its flaws. I do wish it was a little more powerful because there are some games where it will still struggle to hit a consistent 60 fps. I am also not a fan of all the buttons that the controller has. The mouse seems like a gimmick because I’d rather use a traditional bluetooth mouse instead if i was actually going to use a mouth. The extra buttons just get in the way because I won’t use them. The touch pad has also been inconvenient because it’s so close to the thumb stick that it leads to accidental presses so I just disabled it. If you’re a controller players, the sticks are also a little too loose for my liking. It’s difficult to play competitive shooters on this if your used to better controllers so you’d be be better off connecting your favorite controller. Overall I chose this over the competition because the screen makes all the difference by making it feel like a generational jump from something like steam deck. I don’t think I can ever go back to a screen that’s smaller and not OLED. It’s a very beautiful screen and just the right size to where it’s not too gigantic. I think the pros outweigh the cons tremendously with this device so I am giving it a 5/5.

    Best Handheld Money Can Buy

The Lenovo Legion Go 2 was my first handheld gaming PC I've ever owned, and I'm really glad I jumped in this generation. The big screen and improved ergonomics (compared to the last gen) make a huge difference; especially for someone like me with large hands. That said, if you want to take the comfort even further, grab a set of "comfort grips" for it. Trust me, you'll thank yourself later. Battery life has also been surprisingly solid, thanks to how efficient the AMD Ryzen Z2 Extreme chipset is. Yeah, we all know it doesn't bring massive performance jumps over the Z1 Extreme, but honestly, that never bothered me. I've been playing all kinds of games; Gears of War, Titanfall 2, the Kingdom Hearts series, Hogwarts Legacy, you name it; and this thing handles them great. I can hit a steady 60 fps on most titles with medium to low settings (Hogwarts Legacy being the exception) without any real issues. One last thing I have to shout out: the OLED screen! Man, once you calibrate it, this display alone makes the ~$350 premium over the ROG Xbox Ally X worth every penny. When you're playing HDR-supported games, the colors and contrast are straight-up breathtaking; you'll be in awe. All that to say, this device is absolutely worth the investment. I plan on keeping it for a long time. So what are you waiting for? Go grab one. You won't be disappointed.

Very Premium but it is the BEST

This is a very powerful device. Not because of its raw power in the handheld gaming world, but because of its versatility. It’s a handheld yes, and it is also a full-fledged all-in-one Windows PC, and a Windows tablet, thanks to its detachable controllers design. Many gamers out there would complaint about the price, it is not cheap even with the ongoing Bestbuy tech fest promotions that slashed the price 10%. Even when you compare it with the latest handheld device from other makers just recently announced and launched, Lenovo Go 2 with the Z2 Extreme is still the king of handheld gaming PC for at least three reasons. Number one this is a quite unique device, no other major gaming manufacturers produce a handheld gaming PC with detachable controllers, which expand the use case of the product enormously and the portability factor receives major boost. Secondly, the OLED screen with VRR tech is just gorgeous. The resolution, color, the black levels, they are there. Again, almost no other gaming handheld from major manufacturers give you this tech. Only Lenovo and Asus with its upcoming Ally X20. Gaming and watching videos on Legion Go 2 are equally pleasing. I use the screen as a tablet to watch FIFA World Cup games, and the games look really great, and fast sports action looks very smooth. Thirdly, AMD just announced today FSR 4.1’s supports for integrated chipsets, which means Z2E chip will get support in the near future. This is great news from AMD that will potentially crush the newer Intel G3 Arc Extreme with XESS technology’s performance. Of course, with handheld devices that use much lower TDP than desktop there are some settings to play around and optimize for each latest AAA game. However, even without FSR 4.1, gaming Crimson Desert is awesome because everything is just there as the whole package: Z2E’s performance, gorgeous screen and great handheld design with good ergonomics. The audio is good enough for a handheld and it has enough volume comparable to an ultra portable notebook. The fan can be loud at maximum performance but this is an acceptable trade-off with handheld gaming. Also, the battery cannot be reasonably last for long, about 1-2 hours for latest AAA gaming. Battery performance is not really an issue because power banks these days can supply up to 140w of power and they are great for handheld gaming. Does it worth the very premium pricing? At the moment there’s no other devices from major manufacturers that can bake all three elements in one premium device: detachable controllers, great screen and high-end handheld gaming performance. Pros: Great detachable design, beyond handheld gaming Gorgeous OLED screen with VRR AMD’s future FSR 4.1 support for Z2 Extreme Good ergonomics Cons: Very premium pricing Fans can be loud at maximum performance

    Like No Others

I originally planned to buy the RedMagic Astra, but after comparing both devices, I decided to go with the Legion Go Z2 Extreme—and I’m really glad I did. The biggest advantage is that this is a full Windows device, not just a gaming tablet. I can run Steam, Xbox Game Pass, and even regular desktop apps. It feels like having a portable gaming PC rather than a mobile gaming device. Performance is excellent for a handheld—AAA games are very playable with the right settings. The display is another highlight. The large OLED screen is sharp, vibrant, and smooth, making games look incredible compared to smaller handhelds. I also appreciate the versatility. The detachable controllers, built-in kickstand, and desktop functionality make it more than just a gaming device. I can use it for work, media, and even connect it to a monitor like a mini PC. Of course, there are some downsides. It’s heavier than most handhelds, and battery life is average when playing demanding games. Windows also requires a bit of tweaking compared to a console-like experience. That said, if you’re deciding between something like the RedMagic Astra and this, they’re really not in the same category. The Astra is a great tablet, but the Legion Go is a full PC experience.

    This is an awesome handheld!

I love this device! Its screen is very beautiful, and the performance is pretty decent even for modern AAA games. Battery life is decent too, on balanced power settings you can get about 2 hours when playing a more demanding game. I would recommend getting a laptop at this price instead if performance on a portable device is your priority, as a laptop will definitely run those demanding games a lot better. But if you care a lot about comfort, versatility with where you can use the device, and ease of just picking up and playing something, all while having decent enough performance to be able to play pretty much anything- I would recommend this handheld. It is basically a very beefed up Switch OLED running Windows 11, and I love the Switch's form factor, so this device is perfect for me. :)
