Customer Ratings & Reviews

• The set features authentic design details from the real-life McLaren F1 Team MCL38 car: the cockpit flips open by lifting the halo bar, there’s a rear wing, some suspension styling (“wishbone suspension” is noted in the product description) and sponsor-logo decals. • It includes a driver minifigure, which adds to the playability as well as display appeal. • Good bang for the buck: At a ~269-piece count and a typical retail price around US$26.99 (per LEGO’s official listing) it’s accessible. • Collectible appeal: For fans of F1 or McLaren, this set fits in nicely with display shelves of other Speed Champions or F1 models.

These kits are definitely a bit easy to fall apart (especially the front bits) once they're built, and don't roll around super great, so I would much more recommend this for F1 fans who want them to display instead of for kids to play with. The kids will quickly grow frustrated with this as a toy, even if gentle. Didn't take very long to build, but has lots of stickers, so is really nice if you are a fan of the car. Good price point for the build & end result.

This LEGO set is fantastic! The pieces fit perfectly, and the instructions are clear and easy to follow. It’s fun to build and looks great when finished. Great for both kids and adults who love creativity and problem-solving. Excellent quality, colorful bricks, and hours of entertainment—definitely worth it!

The LEGO Speed Champions McLaren F1 Team MCL38 is an outstanding set for Formula 1 and LEGO fans alike. The build is engaging without being overly complicated, and the finished model does an excellent job capturing the sleek design of McLaren's 2024 Formula 1 car. The orange and black color scheme really stands out, and the authentic details—from the front and rear wings to the sponsor decals and Pirelli tires—make it feel like a miniature version of the real race car. The included McLaren driver minifigure is a nice bonus, and once the build is complete, the car looks fantastic on display. It's also sturdy enough to be played with, making it a great choice for both collectors and younger builders. The only minor downside is the number of stickers, which can take a little time to apply correctly. However, they add a lot of realism and are well worth the effort. Overall, this is one of the strongest entries in the LEGO Speed Champions lineup. Whether you're a McLaren supporter, a Formula 1 enthusiast, or simply enjoy building detailed LEGO vehicles, this set offers excellent value and is a fun, rewarding build from start to finish.

[Employee of bestbuy] Fun little lego set and is a great display piece for anyone who's a fan of Formula 1. There is what feels like a million stickers (about 40 stickers) which can be a little tedious.
