Cool set
These new sets are pricey but I opted for this set over the cheaper one with a smart brick due to its minifigure selection and also so I can test out these new electric Lego bricks with other sets I bought. The minifigure selection is great. Technically you get three smart figures, Leia, Luke, and R2 are all exclusive to this set, however pilot Luke while is visually exclusive, his smart play features are the same as all other Lukes released in this wave. The extra filler rebel and storm trooper are fine enough. The smart play features are in my opinion very nice in concept, but only getting one brick kind of teases/hides the true nature of how these toys play. The X wing is a nice build in my opinion and the x wing tag let's you fly around the x wing some loud sound effects. The brick is also usable on the fuel cart, the radar dish and, on the imperial turret. I don't have two bricks to test the whole dogfight system but I hear online it's dire. All of the smart builds except for the turret are designed to also fit R2-D2. Which is a neat detail which is missed initially. Now as for the figures. They make strange mumble sounds, it's okay, I'm not sure what I expected, they make passive sounds when near the bricks, and more focused sounds when the bricks are sitting on the red build tags. Anyone can fly the x wing for example and flipping over the build makes them make a "hurt" sound, R2 for example does his iconic scream when you flip over the x wing to crash it. The x wing is very durable, though my father managed to knock off entirely both wings on first pickup, a child playing with this can very easily slam it around and fly around with little to no issue. Overall cool concept, but not budget friendly.
