Even though it doesn't come with a Mario, it's still great for starters. You can make almost everything, or really close to it.

My 8 year old daughter had a blast putting this together. The pieces swivel and can be arranged in many different ways.

All of the other LEGO Mario sets (starter set and normal expansion sets) have limited variability, so the addition of the MYA Maker Set is a welcome addition to the LEGO Mario world, allowing for customization of the other sets to increase repeat playability. The MSRP is a bit on the high side, but this set is almost always on sale at the major retailers, so it's all good!

My five year old great granddaughter is obsessed with all of her Lego boxes and spends much of her time playing with them. Christmas is coming in December and her birthday in January. What better present than something that she enjoys and with her imagination has a great dael of pleasure. Therefore, my shopping is done for both events.

My son is a Mario lego fanatic. These Legos don’t come with an instruction book. Instead they connect to an app on your tablet or phone and can help your little ones not make mistakes by getting a 360 view of each piece. There are also secret games to play with the tablet. Highly recommend!

Bought this expansion set for my little girl and she loves it. It keeps her busy and with the Mario app is even easier. This is out 3rd set of the Mario collection.

Great addition to Mario starter kit. Wish it would function with the switcher on the map, but still allows for creative play.

The Mario Maker lego set is designed to make mario maker levels from the mario bros games but with legos ! Nice !
