This Lenovo - 14" Laptop is One of The Best Budget laptops available Today. its Really Fast and Very Light weight Laptop. Easy To Use Especially if you use this laptop for basic Everyday Internet surfing ! . Well Done Lenovo !

By adding an external hard-drive one can have a computer at par with laptops two and tree times the price. This is my third one from the same manufacturer, the last one as a gift, two for my granddaughters.

My mom said it’s a good computer... she just surf the internet, play basic games and some work certification classes... so it’s good for all that she use it for

This laptop is a great fit for installing Linux. I knew that I was not going to get a powerhouse with the low specs. I wanted a device for Linux that was not going to break the bank. I looked for used devices but found this one for $150 brand new. I immediately uninstalled Windows and tried out various Linux distros. The one that is currently being used on it is Ubuntu Budgie. Even with just 2GB of RAM, it runs smoothly. I do not intend on using it for resource heavy tasks. This laptop will probably disappoint many of those looking to use this as a standard Windows machine. However, it is great for Linux. The sleek form factor and design is also appreciated.

Slow. Volume is soft. Not easy to use. Great for a pre schooler.

Look, if I were to review this computer against NORMAL computers, the Lenovo ideapad 120S would get a 1 star. But this PC is not intended to compete against those computers, they are in completely different categories. Reviewing this PC for its INTENDED PURPOSE, that being a super budget PC that competes with the plethora of Google Chromebooks, this computer definitely deserves a 5 out of 5. The keyboard is probably the best feature. It is one of the best I've used...very responsive. No backlit keyboard, oh well. Webcam is there (its OK, nothing special). HDMI port, USB 3.0, extra USB port, USB C, fullsize HDMI, microSD slot, and indicator LED for power and HD (left side). The bezzel of the screen has plenty of space for Neonode AirBar (sold by Best Buy) which can add touch capabilities. And what is very nice is that out of the box the bloatware is very limited, just McAfee and a couple Lenovo Apps. The only real downside of this computer is the 32GB of storage and the 1.1 GHz dual core Celeron processor. Look, Windows is snappy and boot time is about 25 seconds. It is good enough for what it is. The 32GB drive is pretty is "eh" considering the space. I wish it was 64GB, but it will do. Out of the box there is like 12GB free. After installing Office 2016 and installing updates (the computer runs Windows 10 Home v1703), you get down to around 7.5GB free. It is tight. I recommend downloading the latest Windows 10 ISO, v1709 creators update, creating USB installation media and installing fresh, cleaning out all the partitions. The drive after doing this will offer you 28.5GB of space and after updates and Office 2016, you wil be left with around 9.5GB free. Definitely worth it for the extra 2 GB. The lid will not open with one hand. You need two. But, it is smooth. The laptop is super light and the power adapter is very portable. I highly recommend it if you need a Chromebook type PC.

Overall, this laptop is a great deal. Great if you only need to use online based storage and apps. I chose this over a chromeOS device only because I need windows to run certain applications. 32GB (approximately 11GB with Windows) isn’t enough however, the built in micro SD card reader can help expand it up to 200gb. Granted the read and write speeds aren’t that great, but for documents and pictures it’s fine. Don’t expect a lot. But for basic usage, it’s great. Lightweight, fast, and affordable. I will say that playing games on this is not possible. Maybe low res like Minecraft. But nothing much else. The RAM is only 2GB and the Processor is a N3350 Celeron. At 1.10 GHz per core (Dual core) it will max out quick with a game. It has a TN panel with a matte finish and looks great looking at the display head on. Angles aren’t the greatest. So overall, if you’re looking to get a starter laptop for a loved one, this is great! Just remember, it’s not a heavyweight laptop that you can game and stuff on.

Of the 32GB you are only allowed 27.8 of which right out of the box nothing installed I only have 9.14 gb free. This is just silly. Very deceiving. Not happy

Surprisingly fast, well built for the price, but couldn't even install the Windows 10 updates with the HD installed. Tried to use SDHC as recommended as external storage and appeared to work until reboot when SDHC is not recognized and Update failed. Eventually, used USB as external space and succeeded, but recommended return for larger HD as granddaughter will not be happy with all the failures in her future. Experts might be able to make it work, but grandparents, grandchildren and most others beware.... get at least 64GB for failure free updates.

Immediately scraped Windows 10 and installed Linux Mint (cinnamon). Makes a great little inexpensive laptop for surfing, email, etc. My only negative is the 32gb SSD (that is soldered in). Mounted a 128gb microSD for my Home drive to give me a little more elbow room. It's really not for heavy use, but basically an 'extra' laptop you can take with you and not have to worry too much about losing it, or it being destroyed while fighting off a ninja attack. For $150 it's fairly well built, has good keyboard and decent screen. Installing Linux was really simple, just turn off fastboot, set USB boot option, insert USB with Mint image and reboot, then follow instructions.

Bought 2 of them for 10 yr and 15 yr boys. They work perfect for school work, browsing the Internet and watching videos/movies. Having Microsoft Office for PPT and WORD is critical as well. I looked at many different options before purchasing. The price was fantistic and in-store service was awesome.

This laptop is similar to a chrome book but you won’t run into issues sharing files and running programs or doing class work. I just needed a budget laptop for some night classes I’ll be taking. This isn’t for someone who needs a heavy duty laptop for editing photos/videos or gaming. If you’re a causal computer user, surf the web, type papers, just need something that’s simple and works, this laptop is a great choice. If you’re a student, I think this would be a better option than a chromebook. It’s really light and is prefect for on the go or taking it someplace. The screen is nice, great keyboard, speakers are eh but I’ll be using headphones about 90% of the time. I haven’t run into any memory issues yet but it doesn’t have THAT much memory if you plan on needing to save a ton of items or photos on it. It loads up quickly and it hasn’t froze or anything yet. I’m still getting used to windows 10 but it’s been a decent experience so far using the laptop.

I've been happy with this computer but they really should have (and could have easily) put more storage in it. The computer didn't have enough memory to update windows without an external memory card. All in all, I like this computer and im happy with the purchase.

Nice computer for the price. This computer would be great for kids who are young students and in high school. It’s lightweight and easy to use. The only problem is with the storage, My wife’s computer went down and we bought this as a temporary computer, hoping to get a year from it. She filled the memory up way too fast. Deleted everything and gave it to my 14-year-old son, a perfect computer for him.

This laptop is dependent on what you need/use it for. The memory of course isn't large at all, which is stated in the features. I've deleted a lot of things off if it and there's still not enough room to update Windows 10 which is requiring 8GB. However, I am still able to surf the internet, use Microsoft Word, and download a few other things like the antivirus protection that came with it for 6 months. In my opinion if you need something mainly for internet or maybe typing up papers and saving to a flash drive, and you're on a budget, this laptop is fine. But, if you have to download a lot of content this is definitely not the computer for you. Although I wasn't able to update Windows 10, it seems to working fine thus far. I gave it a 3 because it is very average/basic, however if that's what you're lookig for then it would technically be a 5. The battery life is decent, resolution is fine, and I've had it for 7 months and it's still working.

Got it as a present for my wife so she can use wifi around the house since the kids broke her MacBook. Figured I go with something inexpensive and lightweight. It's ok for just that use though -- internet. Doesn't have a great deal of memory or hard drive.

I bought this for my daughter who's in the Navy. She loves it! It allows her to stay connected wherever she goes. Compact and portable with all the features she needs.

Overall, this is a great quality laptop and you definitely get your moneys worth. Now, the fact that it’s inexpensive says a lot. The one major problem with this laptop is the memory, or lack there of. It only has 2GB and its not expandable, unless you do some major soldering work. I tried. Also, a 32GB hard drive is not enough. Anyways, this laptop will run best if you just use it to surf the internet and view pdfs. Microsoft Office runs great on the laptop, however because it takes up too much memory it prevents the laptop from downloading regular updates. That being said, if you use this laptop without Microsoft Office you should do just fine.

This laptop is great for traveling, it,s lite weight and slim design makes it a great choice for traveling.
