Well Legion has finally done it after all these years and attempts the 7th Gen Legion 5 PRO RYZEN 7 6800H knocks it out of the park !! I was never a FAN of Lenovo Laptops until the released their Legion Gaming side of things that is. Let me break it down. PROS: -Very FAST CPU up to 4.9 gtz OC (overclocked) 4.7 gtz FC (factory controlled) -Amazing True strike keyboard with 1.4 mm key travel - Epic very vibrant 500 nits QHD + 165 htz refresh 2560X1600 3ms response time. -Excellent epic build quality all metal chassis - Lenovo Vantage software is a true treat indeed. Love the custom easy fan switch profiles and the keyboard RGB effects/choices. Also absolutely love the AMD MUQ switch GPU EASY restart with discreet graphics modes and 3 different HYBRID MODE options to choose from. -3050 ti Nvidia Card usually this would be a CON but this Legion 5 PRO has max wattage of 140 watts OC being pumped into this tiny chassis which is amazing to say the least. - Heat max temps I have seen so far were 63 degrees Celsius which again is def something to ride home about. I upgraded to 32GB Fury Kingston RAM DDR5 4800MHz SODIMM XMP ready and worked like a charm right out of the box - Upgradability from SSD removal to Wifi card change to Upgraded RAM this laptop is super simple to upgrade and no BIOS reset or battery removal was required. Highy recommend that RAM to be installed mentioned above. Cons- Battery Life not the greatest but not terrible either just simply average but better than most of the competition. - Not very portable but who cares still a smaller chassis than most gaming inch laptops out there. I don't really have any other cons I have had 0 issues using this laptop when it comes to Gaming and on the go quick photo video editing. I am now a firm believer about Lenovo Legion Laptops and honestly due to how superior this $1400 machine is I will be a Legion customer for some time. Oh forgot to add, Playing Thymesia under HIGH settings with AMD True Fx Resolution turned on seeing minimum 47 FPS to 82 FPS with overdrive enabled in the Vantage Lenovo software and FANS set to overdrive as well fn Q (RED POWER BUTTON) and finally discreet GPU mode turned on plugged into power source. Hope this small review helps with your purchase decision to get this amazing gaming little powerhouse

This laptop is absolutely incredible. The aesthetic of it as well as the performance make it something worth acquiring for work/school/fun as you can do it all! Buying open box for nearly half the price was the best thing i could have done, only a bit of residue which came off easily with some alcohol and elbow grease. Retail I would likely choose another laptop in the same price point with better specs and hardware as you are paying for the brand with Legion as well. Solid choice and I have to hand it to Best Buy for having some amazing deals on lightly used and like new electronics!

The laptop itself is fantastic, especially for the price which I got it for ($788 in openbox). It has a stunning 2560x1600 16:10 display, and ample storage and compute power for my use case. I've been using it for the past 3 weeks, and the battery life is pretty good, I'm getting around 5-6 hours for most of the days. However, it didn't have a charger with it, since I bought it in openbox.

I gotta be honest, this Laptop is definitely one of the best things I’ve ever bought. It’s responsive and reliable. It’s good with some certain games and I plan to use this for education. The Battery life on this, is somewhat better compared to some laptops but it’s compatibility to multiple platforms is amazing. It’s a bit heavy.

I’ve been on the hunt for a gaming laptop so that I can game/stream on the go and knock out work for my Cybersecurity program. I came acroos this open-box deal for a Legion 5 Pro for around $780 (with tax) and decided to make the dive. It was categorized as being in “Satisfactory” condition, so I was worried the laptop wqs going to be pretty janky. To my surprise there was only minor (and barely noticeable) cosmetic damage on the sides and vents of the laptop. The ports work all work well, the camera is operational, and the screen is in perfect condition. I’ve had it for about 2 weeks now and I absolutely love it! Its a nice size/not too heavy, great typing experience, has all the ports I need, and it has great screen resolution. The downside is that I think I know why it had a “Satisfactory” rating; it has the reoccuring issue where it will just randomly go to a black screen, the power button will pulse, and then the fans start to roar like a jet. Finally it will just shut down. This is apparently a common issue with the Legion laptops in particular. I havent had a chance to do a power drain or downgrade from Win 11 to 10, but the issue also doesnt present consistently. I love the laptop so much that im willing to try different methods to get it to work before I throw in the towel and send it back. If you have the tech savvy or know someone who is tech savvy to troubleshoot hardware and software issues, I recommend taking the gamble on open-box listings. If not, you’re better off buying new to avoid the hassle.

My first time buying an open box item and I'm so happy with my purchase , battery lasts for 5-6 hrs . Can't expect more from gaming laptop.. would never hesitate to buy an open box item in the future ... Will definitely recommend my friends to try open box from best buy

There are very few real "negatives" that I can think of regarding the performance and utility of this laptop other than the two issues below, which in no way would keep me from buying it again in a heartbeat if I needed another. 1. 16GB is under-powered for a machine that is otherwise built as a very high-performance mobile PC. 16GB is fine as an "option" of course, but it should be also offered in a 32GB configuration. And at the least, if you're going to make 16GB the only option then have it such that it's set up to have only one of the slots filled. As it was, the week I bought it I had to order TWO new 16GB modules to get to 32GB (the laptop shows up with two 8GB modules). So this is mostly a fault of the way Best Buy put the package together, but something to understand going in. 2. The weight: This machine feels REALLY heavy. If you're planning on bringing this all over the place on trains or walking across the city, just be sure you've got a good laptop backpack. I would not recommend using a side bag or you're going to have a very sore shoulder in no time at all. Beyond those considerations, this is a GREAT machine. It was bought for my son for film-school video editing, audio mixing (and all the normal MS Word docs. and a little gaming) and it's performed as well or better than the full-sized gaming PC he already had. In fact, it's to the point where he switched all his work over to this laptop, so that tells me it's in every way a superior machine. The screen is large and bright, the keyboard is well laid out, and GPU is robust enough to use with Adobe Premiere Pro without any lags. And I suppose the positive aspect of the "weight" aspect: it feels like it's built like a tank; very solid and not at all delicate or flimsy. Heat: It does of course get pretty toasty when you push it, but as long as it's on a solid surface the ventilation and fans do a fine job of cooling. Battery: Battery life is fair to poor if you're using it for higher performance apps or games. Bottom line, you need to make sure you've got the adapter for most usage.

So i bought this to replace a few old laptops i was juggling to get work done. An old thinkpad x230t that was hideous but had wonderful keyboard; a hefty Lenovo y700-15acz running a dual core FX8800p that ran like a snail while cooking my lap for the <2hrs it could go on battery saver mode; and finally a Macbook air 2020 with M1 chip None of those computers meet my needs, but this machine covers most of them: +Big beautiful screen +Roomy and accurate keyboard +Fast performance +Cool operation +Low Noise +>7 hours of battery +Reliable First let me say, as soon as i bought this machine and let it update i disabled the onboard gpu because i have a gaming rig dedicated to that and enabled silent mode. I don't know what the fans sound like on this thing! It runs so quiet and cool! With the battery charged to 80% in conservation mode, i'm getting 6-8 hours depending how bright i set the screen and how loud i set the music. Btw, the speakers on this thing suck. The mac and the y700 sounded wayy better, but this is not the worst of the lot. The old thinkpad takes the cake as worst of the worst. Whatever, i mostly used headphones. The 8 core 16 thread 6800h in this thing, holy god, it flies. I'm coming for dual cores that overheat and the power sipping M1, let me tell you, the 6800h flies; definitely on par with the M1 in my subjective experience of system responsiveness. My home PC sports a 5950x and a 6800xt; I do all my gaming and multitasking there across three monitors, but when i'm running this machine, it feels just as fluid for day to day tasks. There's a few things that feel slightly faster likely due to the DDR5 sticks: switching from Itunes interface to mini-player, for instance, so much quicker on this machine. On a full charge i could see this thing lasting 10+ hours the way i use it, which is mostly to churn out essay, read articles, and browse the web. The 16:10, WXQA 16inch panel is wonderful for working on documents, and the screen is huge and crisp, handily beating the 13 inch Retina panel on the M1, subjectively of course. The M1 willl outpace this machine in terms of runtime and the benchmarks will probably favor apple silicon, at least in single threaded tests in a suite like Geekbench. But if youre like me, wedded to windows for its phenomenal file explorer and cloud integration, in need of a roomy keyboard with full number pad, craving a big beautiful screen to be productive in, and the runtime to be greater than 7hrs of silent and fast operation, go with the Legion 5 Pro. Honestly, this is the best laptop I've ever owned. Ryzen 6nm is a major win. Now the cons -Speakers -hefty 200 watt charging brick -runtime could be a tad longer, like 12 hours please? Neutrals | Gaming--- i couldnt tell you, i dont game | Keyboard lighting ----it's neat, can be section into 3 different colors; cool i guess | Bloatware---- I guess it's there; W11 feels like bloatware on its own; as long as it doesn't hurt performance That's all i got. And this machine will charge via usb c if you happen to have a 100w adapter tethered to it, btw. And enabling 60hz mode, silent mode, and battery saver will probably get your near the 12 hour mark. The speakers have no excuse. They're just wimpy. The Nahimic software helps a little but not nearly enough. To be fair, more powerful speakers would probably have cut into the batter. Next time, i hope they put in quad speakers or at least make them front firing instead bottom speakers. Okay that's it. I love this thing. I got it for $1333 after taxes open box. Which btw, BestBuy was defintely not excellent condition. This thing was filthy and missing every insert. I'm a busy girl so I took it as is, but i would say $1200 was about what this one is worth in the condition i got it. Btw, if youre battery is giving up quicker than ususal, check the battery details; ive been catching some apps bleeding out the battery like my VPN service and Kind for PC reader; wish windows would put them to sleep when this happens, but it's not the machines fault

Will last for years because Ram and memory are upgradable. High end processor/video card. Clear display, no noticeable pixels. A little thick, not too bad, helps unit stay cool. Can use USB-C to connect external monitor with 4k capabilities. List of previous laptop considerations and reasons why they werent chosen. RETURNED FOLLOWING LAPTOPS AND REASONS WHY. Asus 14”/16” OLED; 8gb non upgradeable ram means hardware will struggle with simplest tasks within months (Microsft Teams alone will gobble whatever is left of 8GB of RAM from the operating system). Youtube videos stuttering no matter what resolution, this was maybe due to low end graphics card. Oled screen was retaining outlines of images even though laptop was new. OLED Color saturation was overwhelming for my vision (too bright). DELL had nice touch screen OLED display but could notice the digitizer (small lines on screen that act as sensors for touch screen.) Research OLED and educate yourselves. Anything OLED is a risky long term investment. THIS LAPTOP ISNT OLED or touch screen, WHICH IS GOOD. This unit is 90% used for school work. Keyboard feels right, not far spaced out like ASUS ROG 16”. For $1,199, nothing out there, to me has higher value.

Awesome little machine, for the price i got it for it runs amazingly, every game that i have played on it has 10/10 graphics and its super fast when tabbing out, no lags or freezes. I always play it plugged in so i dont know how long the battery lasts but if you arent taking it anywhere its the best machine to game on

Overall great laptop. It is very powerful and can run most games and medium to best quality without seeing a performance drop. it has a small SSD but is upgradeable. the RAM can be upgraded as well. it also can run multiple external displays.

This laptop is fast, quiet, runs cool, and works great with my 4K monitor using HDMI, unlike many other laptops. While playing games the fans aren't too noisy if you wear headphones. Some games the fans are pretty quiet though. Also, nice that the warranty is tied to the machine, not a registered owner, unlike ASUS laptops, and can be extended via the Lenovo Vantage app. I haven't ran it on battery but it's a gaming laptop so I expect battery life to be poor. The screen is really nice and supports HDR, although I don't know how bright it can get.

I have to say for this laptop and the price it is pretty good, especially fast. Make sure to upgrade when you purchase it. The RAM 32 GB and hard disk 2 TB.

Better battery life than other laptops, runs really well on games and stays relatively cool even when running a bunch of stuff. I put this as a 4 star review due to there being a common fan problem for my laptop and others' laptops where it would make a grinding noise and you would have to get a replacement fan.

Fast, beautiful, would have loved the 3060 in it. For the extra vram but this will do quite well for what i need it. Display is amazing. Might wanna pick up a 2nd ssd for it. And all upgradable. 2 m.2 slots as well as ram upgradable to 64gb ddr5 4800. Do not buy for battery life might get 3 hours with light use. But it is a gaming laptop and you wont be buying it for battery life.

Love the laptop, got it open boxed and upgraded the ram by adding a 32GB stick. For a total of 40GB ram on this device. Use it for Programming, taking advantage of NVIDIA graphic card/CUDA. Also plays games well enough, with a bright screen. You may need to configure some settings for batter to run on the CPU build in graphics, when not running games. Makes a huge difference. Battery life is great, but of course will vary depending on your usage. Again adjusting the settings to not use GPU unless running a game well immensely increase your battery life when it comes to just browsing. The screen is very bright, but fill brightness will eat up the battery quickly. If you are going to leave it always plugged in, make sure to adjust settings to not fully charge it so batter won't be damaged in long term due to always being plugged in.

We purchased this computer to run ai programs that require at least RTX 3050 Ti GPU in notebook computer. The program specified a software upgrade for the amd processor and it worked instantly. This is a powerful computer at a very low price on BestBuy.

I really liked this laptop. The games I play are doing well so far :) From the pros: - it has no throttling during a long game - it has a cool screen - comfortable keyboard - cool design But! It was a mistake to take a laptop with a 2k screen, because you will not be able to play at high settings in this resolution, alas. A very big disadvantage of the laptop. Believe me, you don't want to play FHD on such a monitor, the picture will be flattened and black stripes on the sides. Not the best gaming experience, is it? But on medium settings you can already play safely. And he also has a problem with the battery. But I always have it in the socket, so it doesn't matter.
