I just picked this up today, but felt compelled to write this as a helpful guide to all the bargain hunters out there: If you use Best Buy credit card and opt for 5% cash back option, you can get a powerful VR ready gaming laptop under $999! This is pretty much the best deal in this price category, and right on time for Christmas. Thanks Best Buy! <3 PROS: + Top of the line CPU + Powerful mid-line GPU (1060 in this machine is Max-Q variant, meaning it's less powerful than regular 1060, but still amazing bang for your buck) + Came with 16GB of DDR4 RAM, it's even better than advertised!!! + Lenovo build quality is top notch (all-plastic construction makes it light and sexy) + Keyboard and track-pad are really great + VR Ready! I preferred my older Lenovo to this new model. This one seems to run slower and the fans are in an awkward position. It does allow me to play the game I like to play, however. The battery life is not good and when it drains it makes the laptop run slower. Overall, even with my complaints, I like the laptop.

I bought this laptop for my wife, primarily for word processing, email and web access. The laptop boots up really quickly. It does everything she needs and more. Plus, the price was a good value for what we got.

I purchased this laptop for photography work! It ticked every box, untill I opened the box and saw that it doesn't have a card reader as mentioned in the spec list on bestbuy website. I contacted them and all that they could do was advice me to buy an external card reader. They didn't even change the spec list on the website!

Now that's a computer!! they also sent me one with 16g of ram instead of 8g
